Yep I've had both clones (Iwaver 01, a mini-z mr01 clone, low quality plastics that has ended up warping the servo assembly so it's just binding up & is unusable which is kind of funny. A Iwaver 04 which is a mini-z monster clone that has a lexan body & slightly lower suspension then the kyosho one. Bought this one back in like December 2007, missing servo motor which i might just take from the mr01 to convert this too 2.4 ghz instead along with a few more parts. Got aluminium shock towers from gpm back in the day, ball bearings & had a hop up motor which was like a 43t with neo magnets i think, crazy torque & real fun too drive with that. Fantastic little offroader despite being 2wd on forest trails jumping over roots & rocks as the lexan body was super light it didn't roll over as easily. Seriously pick up a used mini-z monster & add like a 1:24th scale lexan crawler body on it & a hop up motor like the pn racing 50t ball bearing motor & shock towers. A real mini-z mr01 as well that i bought for 6 usd at a fleamarket which i eventually burnt the mosfet on, had dried up tires, no antenna or radio & a bmw z8 body missing the mirrors & i thankfully had the 27 mhz radios around still from the iwavers & the hpi e-firestorm. I'm still underway too fix up the kyosho mr01, might do a pn racing servo board & buy a spare wltoys k989 pcb too convert it to 2.4 ghz & lipo as i got some old 90mm narrow bodies I'd like too run about indoors, might do the same with the Iwaver 04 but that is missing a bit more parts still like the servo motor mentioned above. The bodies i have is a Mitsubishi evo 5 which is a white Iwaver body with stripes. (Iwaver mitsubishi white in a google image search shows the exact one i got on the 2nd picture.) A red dodge viper that's another Iwaver body & then a kyosho body i picked up a few years ago for 27 usd which has gone up like crazy in value it seems. Which is a MZC2WRC which I've seen listed as high as 350$ which is kind of crazy. Though one of the rims for that body is a bit scratched up on the inside as i still have no tool for unscrewing the wheelnuts & i used a random nut from something else that locked into the axle a bit too well so i struggled getting it out for a bit which messed up the wheel. The only running I'll do with the mr01 will be indoors really at home here & some in the basement like my wltoys k989. hop ups the mr01 has is carbon suspension plate as the plastic ones always break, ball bearings & i think a genuine Kyosho ball diff which i found for free at a cousins place when he was moving out in a box of junk.
I love that the essence of his shop is for people to learn to "do it themselves." I think RTR has brought a lot of people into the hobby. I got into the hobby in the 90s where RTR wasn't really a thing. I think it's important for people to know how to work on their cars. This shop is amazing
Joe, happy to meet with you & hopefully you had a wonderful day at our shop especially by the time racing together with guys cos it's really full of fun to ride with many people instead of playing alone. Timing system is also available at the track so please remind me to install a lap counter transponder on your car upon your visit next time. See you big boy LOL...Cheers ^^
That track is really nice. I race mini z every weekend on rcp. Looked a lil bumpy but still a very awesome track. Would love to visit if I ever were to travel there
best shop ever hands down, we dont have anything close to that here in texas. ours suck. im a helicopter and tank guy so i really have no options at all just online for me.
Wood+non-woven interlining base. The surface is painted by outdoor basketball field paint. The paint is originally light grey so Gary had to mix some black powder to make it darker. Cheers!
Dear. Im the G/F Rc workshop responsible person. I m sorry we're close at that day, because we got covid and take rest for 2weeks, we are so sorry for that.
Fyi did you know that mini-z cost a few hubdred dollars and are not like super cheap toy grade stuff even though they look like toys you get from walmart lol
@@TheRcKiwis no im not talking about your ferrari, im talking abt the legitimately fake ones, your one is comoletely real and im sure it cost a pretty penny for such a small car😅

Have you tried Mini-Z yet?
Nope but exited to try of course:)
Yes. Need to get more bodies for it.
Yep....when they first came out......had the Dodge Viper and a McLaren.....a blast to drive....have fun

No problem 👍
I know you aren’t a small dude but that’s a eerie building the way it is so empty. Appreciate your dedication to the hobby 👍
Woow that place is really interesting to visit 😮
“That’s the coolest store I’ve ever seen”

and the full paint station is fing super cool...not happening in my local hobby shop..that guy got a good thing going
I love the transition when Gary said 'what'
You should try getting some FPV footage on that track. Outside of the giant people it should look pretty realistic from the cars POV
That would be epic!
@@TheRcKiwis I’d love to see it! Get some longer running footage too we’ve hardly seen you drive your mini Zs 😁
That shop is epic!🤙🏽

Wow this is so cool. Wish we had this sort of thing in the UK. Love mini z but no one really runs them here.
Not many people play Mini-Z in UK? I thought this is popular over the world. It is really full of fun no matter racing or drift.
As an American I can assure you with the utmost confidence it would take me 4 days to find that place.
Wooww this place so cool

You know since the mini z craze started in Japan, i wonder why the mach 5 wasn't made, at least the body.
I wish Shanghai still had shops... HK is way nicer for this hobby.
