Yeah I suppose there is always that part about the U.S. Hobby shops these days. I mostly use websites and Amazon anyway but the local brick and mortars are usually TraxXxas dominant if not exclusive. Honestly if I think about it it's 4 out of 9 local shops that are exclusively TraxXxas, and 3 are TraxXxas dominant by a long shot. And 1 doesn't sell rc cars just trains and the other seems to just sell stuff from Amazon)
Nice tour Joe. If you want to build up a Tamiya then I'd go for something fun like the Konghead (or any of the G6-01 chassis trucks) and fit the rear steer. It's something that is very different to what other RC companies are doing and rather a hoot to drive. Oh and put in something like a 3500kv brushless as a bit slow out of the box. Was just running mine today 🙂
@@rcpete7055 yeah I think they are good of you've got somewhere nice and smooth to run them. I'm mainly driving RC's in the woods so big tyre trucks are my favourite 😁
I'm going to sabotage Pete's recommendation (love his videos too) and recommend my favourite the GF-01, which is the 4x4 brother of this chassis. With a brushless combo it wheelies on command and for days. But with short track width you should use wide wheels or hub extensions to restrict cartwheels (and cracked bodies) but it's a unique vehicle to run as it takes a different skill set to control
I would love to see a Kyosho USA 1 and I would recommend getting a lunchbox as a first build(it was my first build) and it is iconic and imo insanely fun or a hornet, if you are getting a Tamiya kit make sure to get ball bearings they make a huge difference. Most RC truckers take their kits to an RC truck convention, other than that it is mostly an awesome shelf queen

Thanks for the tour. I am a regular rcmart customer on eBay. The Tamiya Holiday Buggy is a great first build or get an EB Kumamon Buggy for a bit of fun. For an awe inspiring build experience get a Kyosho Javelin or Turbo Optima.

Kyosho 8th scale buggy kit. You will actually get to use it at the local track, it will be fun to build & it's good quality. I loved my kyosho inferno that I sold b4 moving to NZ. PS I think it's normal to have 5000+ warhammer models.

Definitely get one of those vintage Tamiya buggy! Maybe the Avante series, or the Top Force, Plasma Edge, or Astute series. Any designs as long as these vintage ones, I think you are going to love the building experience.
Hey Joe. If you have time to kill in quarantine then you may enjoy one of those Bandai transformer (Gundam) kits. They don't require paint or glue and are great fun. You just need to get a decent pair of side snips (Tamiya make nice ones).
It's gotta be the SCX6! Especially since there's so many accessories for crawlers available at RC Mart...you could do a series on the SCX6 buying/installing/testing accessories for it!
SCX 6 would be my choice but they are getting one anyway. But yes a series on it would be great. Don't know if Joe should ride it like a few other channels have. Lol
I have the tamiya 3348 it's the 4x6 dump truck. And the grand hauler with a trailer. I use the semi and trailer when we go on walks with the family and I haul my 2 year old around he weighs 30lbs and it's no problem for the semi in 2nd gear on hills or anything and lasts about an hour with no heat issues. It's crazy. And the dump truck is fun for playing with the kids in the back yard to play with sand.
I'm gonna vote for Traxxas 4-Tec 3.0 and Kyosho Inferno GT2 VE. Yes, on-road/touring R/C is my thing. Definitely would love to see that in this channel, great video as always, Joe!
