    Hello ma'am, please add some more videos to understand the fundamentals of drawing and shading. I mean the basics of light and shade in a simple way starting from beginning to advance level. Thanks and Regards!!❤

      Thank you for your new comment! There are other drawing videos on my channel which focus on more simple drawing subjects, like apples and pears... which I think will help you to understand the fundamentals of light and shade.

    This is an excellent tutorial and thank you. As a total beginner, drawing textures and showing changes ion plane are really difficult. Fabric and rocks being particularly awkward for me and this will certainly help

      Simon I'm so glad the tutorial helped! Even textures are just changes in light and shade and looking carefully at "what those changes look like" (is the edge of light/shade sharp and clean, or diffused, or lumpy etc).... once you can see those differences and understand how to create the different textures with pencil/eraser/finger you really can draw anything!!

    Noooooo you must show us the shadow please

    • @charlottegiblinart
      @charlottegiblinart  3 года назад

      Haha! Well.... if you think about it, when you're drawing on white paper, every mark you make with a pencil is actually a shadow... whether it's on the fabric itself or underneath it. The key is getting the shape of the shadows right, and the edge of the shadow is crucial as well, which I explain in the video: is it a sharp edge which makes the fabric look smooth, or a smudgey edge or a jagged edge which make the fabric look textured? Hopefully you can apply some of the ideas in the video to the drawing you want to do and working out how to do your particular shadow?
