Demidov or Liindstrom ? That is a question habs did not have to ask themself because the question was answered by Don Waddell and the Columbus Blue Jackets who picked the 6'3" Cayden Lindstrom ! They choose size over pure offensive talent.
Demidov has a very high ceiling. With the proper lineages...he could be a star in the N.H.L. ....We will see how he fits in and how he develops. He looks like a winner ..!!❤

Lindstrom was always a no-go; plenty of insiders confirmed that if he was available at #4, Columbus would take him. He was their man for months. So the dual questions were: 1) what would Anaheim do?; and 2) would Hughes take Demidov over Iginla (who we all knew was a player the team was EXTREMELY interested in)? Anaheim went off the board, and that's fine. Maybe the pick pays off for them, although I cannot imagine a world in which Sennecke outperforms Demidov. As for the Iginla vs. Demidov debate, I think both are top-line talents, at minimum, in the NHL. Demidov is the playmaker, Iginla is the shooter; but I do think Demidov's ceiling is quite a bit higher than Iginla's. So for me, while I _really_ wanted Tij, with Demidov on the board at #5, there's no way I would pass him over.
Demidov or Iginla, I think you can’t go wrong with either of them. I tend to believe that Iginla might be more valuable during playoffs but, for sur, Demidov will spectacular to watch.
We need a good defense. Look at Edmonton. They still haven't won a cup with Draisaitl and McDavid. Picking Reinbacher last year was the right choice imo.
