This is actually my favorite movie (I include the second volume as well because they were supposed to release as one, but would be too long). It’s just an iconic, rent free movie that is always in my head.
Chapter One was called "2" because Copperhead was the second name on her ""Death List". (Cottonmouth was "1", remember, and she'd already 'dealt' with HER) (as you later learned)
The man playing the Japanese chef AKA Hatori Hanzo is Sony Chiba. He is a huge action star and have being in different martial arts movies and mainstream movies as well
Daryl Hannah aka Elle Driver, was also in the 1982 film Blade Runner. Gogo Yubari aka Chiaki Kuriama was also in the classic Japanese film Battle Royale.
The only familiar face to me at the Yakuza boss meeting is the actor that plays Boss Tanaka, Jun Kunimura. I don't think he's that famous in Japan but he's been a consistent working actor for almost 50 years. The role I've seen him the most in was a Korean horror film called "The Wailing", where he plays a Japanese man living in rural Korea who is being accused of cursing a nearby village.
I'm not american, I'm portuguese. But I learnt japanese last year and it became my forth language (i'm fluent in english and french and portuguese is my mother tongue). The teacher didn't even speak portuguese, she was japanese and spoke english/japanese in class. Japanese is easier than you might think and it's pretty cool. Except the writing, that was a little difficult to learn. I still have to practice everyday and now I'm watching anime without subtitles to further my knowledge. Good reaction 👍
The fact O Ren had been already stricken off the list at the very beginning of the movie (in wagon, immediately after Vernita was killed) *is not even an Easter Egg.. ....it's like.... ...I mean - he's such a genius*
I’m a Norwegian that moved to america and learned English. Then when I got older my grandfather taught me Japanese cause he was stationed in Japan when he was in the military
back in the 70's and early 80's there were Chinese martial arts movies that played on Sundays. because of outrageous things they did. flying around, lots of blood, all kinds of weapons. they were live action, my mother loved them and called them sunday afternoon adult cartoons. Kill bill is a homage to those 70's movies. if you want to check one out, there are many, but you can check out Master of the Flying Guillotine 1976.
Kill Bill 1 and 2 are a marriage of Spaghetti Westerns and Samurai movies. It's Sergio Leone meets Akira Kurosawa, with some 1970's Hong Kong Kung Fu movies and Japanese Anime thrown in for good measure.
@4:04! You’re correct! Vivica did perform her own stunts! @24:57: You’ll get the “Silly rabbit, Triax are for kids” joke after you watch Vol 2. It’ll make sense then. Lol.
I whistle Elle Drivers song while walking the halls at work. The echo sometimes is so creepy! Love these movies. So fun to vicariously watch your first viewing of this masterpiece.
You have to be a Star Trek Fan to understand the very Beginning of this film ;) When I saw this in the movies you could tell all the Trekkies when there was a chuckle in the theater.
If you are into martial arts movies.... Hatori Honzo is played by Sony Chiba (Street fighter, Bushido Blade). The head of the crazy 88 ( bald guy with the mask) is played by Gordon Liu (36 Chambers/Master Killer, Fist of the White Lotus).
I knew you will love this 🎉. Nice reaction bro cant wait to see the Volume 2 with ya. The yellow striped suit she is on is a tribute to Bruce Lee's Game Of Death which literary happened in that club anyways lol
Great intro my friend...my first viewing of your reactions...this is one of my fav movies ever...never get tired of seeing it again through someone else's eyes....cheers!
That's Sony Chiba playing Hatori Hanso. If you're Japanese you know who he is. Huge martial arts film star. The guy who loses his head is Jun Kunimura who was also in the Wailing, Ichi the Killer and the Audition.
Old Klingon proverb, pronounced Cling-on. The Klingons are a race of people in Star Trek. The way you pronounced it I wasn't sure you are familiar :) Worth a dive if you're not!
I'm in my 40s and I learned to whistle about 5 years ago. More or less, still not great at it. My older brother's been whistling in my face forever but still can't snap his fingers. I can snap mine like a fucking artist. Perspective.
I couldn't whistle until my early thirties when my front dental implant came loose, and a my other front tooth broke off - along with the breakdown of the rest of my teeth from the acid due to being sick 🤮 3x/day, 7d/week for 3 years because of narcotic pain medications. I was finally able to whistle after accidentally swallowing the implant due to stomach acid wearing down the screw. Let's just say I made up for all the whistling I had missed in those 30+ years to the point it drove people to hate me. But after fixing the dental issue, I sadly lost the ability to whistle. Sometimes I wish I had chosen whistling over a mouth full of porcelain.
Sonny Chiba seems like a great actor so maybe check him out more, though I don't know any of his films... See I myself am just very interested in him and his work:.D
26:10 I’ve heard that every movie Tarantino has made takes place in the same universe. However, Kill Bill is the blockbuster martial artists movie that is playing at the theater. Hence why it doesn’t even try to be realistic.
QT was suppose to make a part 4 when the little girl grows up (Nikki) and comes after Uma. He was going to wait for the actress to actually grow up. I was so excited but then he retired wtf
I watched this in 2005 in my cousins (i was only 6) 2AM by myself and i have autism so if i get scared or uncomfortable it's non verbal, i was so traumatized lmao
The Kill Bill movies are my favorites! Can’t wait for you to see the second one which is debatably the better of the two. Also, I am an American who can speak Japanese, not fluently as of yet.
i just wanted to say my condolences for your mother 🙏🏽 that mustve been incredibly difficult to experience at such a young age, you seem like a very nice man im sure she’s very proud of you.
check your katana if it's made of authentic high carbon steel, it should easily cut 3 bamboo poles in one diagonal swooping motion. we forge any kind of bladed weapons or kitchen tools, from meat cleavers to double edged knives to swords of any length of your choice. we also have the traditional asian weapon karambit and the ninja star knife. we ship internationally.
This is so, so good film. I was blown away the anime sequence. I am big fan of Japanese Animation. Watching Japanese animation in original soundtrack and english text is weird way to learn two languanges. Not sure how well I could do in Japan but after 15 years watching japanese animation and movies, I do understand surprisingly much japanese these days. Albeit it would count only 4th languange I understant, can communicate. Quentinm Tarantino's love for films and anime truly shines in this film as does his uncomporimising way to do films. It will be a sad day when Tarantino doesn't make films anymore.
I love these movies. I speak some Japanese but I'm pretty rusty. I took a few courses in college and loved it. I wish I'd stuck with it. I also did Oren's monologue for a local "monologue throwdown". It was a hit lol
I really enjoyed the reaction. I'd recommend that you pause whenever you comment more than a few words since you're bound to miss a lot if you don't. Cheers.
“A weapon is only dangerous if you know how to use it“? Um… No. If you don’t know how to use a weapon, it can still be dangerous. A weapon is only not dangerous if you never use it. But, cool reaction.
Bro, I learned to whistle when I was twenty. I was literally blowing on a spoonful of soup and it came out. I've been able to whistle ever since. Keep trying!
If you really want to begin to journey into the Samurai, Zen, Bushido world, there is only one film to start with. The 47 Ronin 1941 Japanese, with fantastic subtitles It’s a historical masterpiece 3 plus hrs long B&W. It’s available on the platform. Hirayama, Ronin 🙇🏻♂️
This is actually my favorite movie (I include the second volume as well because they were supposed to release as one, but would be too long). It’s just an iconic, rent free movie that is always in my head.
You’re so real for this
One of the greatest revenge movies, ever. This is one of my favorites, too.
Such great taste. It has a bit of everything. Gore, emotion, action, drama, comedy, revenge, and horror.
Have you seen the music video Animal Farm by Bibi, she re-makes some fight scenes from Kill Bill for it
Viciva indeed spent 6 months perfecting that choreography and getting training. Such a queen.
"This-is what-you get-for fucking-around with-Yakuzas! Go home to your mother!" ranks among my all-time favourite movie lines.
As it should be one of the hardest movies you’ve ever seen in your life! I’m so happy you enjoyed this gem. Can’t wait for number 2. Let’s goooooo
When O-Ren and the Bride have that little exchange talking about rabbits and “trix” they say her name quite clearly and plainly.
That cereal was named KABOOM for a reason 😅
Chapter One was called "2" because Copperhead was the second name on her ""Death List". (Cottonmouth was "1", remember, and she'd already 'dealt' with HER) (as you later learned)

Wasn’t he the dude in iP man that came to the village challenging everyone
@@waxxon1789 nope not him
“ 😮 nooo Nikki…” TOOK ME TF OUT LOL
Daryl Hannah aka Elle Driver, was also in the 1982 film Blade Runner. Gogo Yubari aka Chiaki Kuriama was also in the classic Japanese film Battle Royale.
I love battle royale.the second one isn't as good.
The only familiar face to me at the Yakuza boss meeting is the actor that plays Boss Tanaka, Jun Kunimura. The role I've seen him the most in was a Korean horror film called "The Wailing", where he plays a Japanese man living in rural Korea who is being accused of cursing a nearby village.
i don't realize it and actually watching the wailing too.
Kill Bill: The ultimate baby mama drama😂😂
I'm not american, I'm portuguese. But I learnt japanese last year and it became my forth language (i'm fluent in english and french and portuguese is my mother tongue). The teacher didn't even speak portuguese, she was japanese and spoke english/japanese in class.

15:20 that is the late great Sonny Chiba playing Hattori Hanzo.
One of the characters in John Wick 3 is an homage to Hanzo
The fact O Ren had been already stricken off the list at the very beginning of the movie (in wagon, immediately after Vernita was killed) *is not even an Easter Egg.. ....it's like.... ...I mean - he's such a genius*

Yessss!!! One of my favourite films ever 😁
I think your the first reactor to point out she calmed her heart rate down before the guy came in when she woke up from the coma 🔥
Got a new sub for that reaction :)
Those Charlie Angels movies are for real underrated to me. Love to hear the shoutout.
How time flies, can't believe this came out when I was 11
Sword-katana. The weird music is a throwback to the old foreign kun-fu movies of the 70s and the yellow suit is a spoof on Bruce Lee's suit.

Great reaction ❤😊
Can’t wait to see your reaction to kill bill 2. And the latest one from Tarantino: once upon a time… in Hollywood! Love all his movies.
Such a iconic movie!!! I watched this movie so many times as a little children
"Where's the blood on her sword?"
Swordsmen oiled their swords, so blood doesn't stick and rust the blade.
Sorry about your mom bro, big hug from México

I'm shocked uma Thurman didn't do more action movies?
Linda Hamilton as well?
Right? She was good in this. You would’ve thought she really practiced martial arts

Tarantino film sound tracks are brilliant
hey the Rza did the soundtrack for all these kill bills thats how him and tarantino got tight
Well yes. I answer You, they are Pro Ninjas in this movie. But I don't wanna spoil anything.
Inglorious Basterds is my FAVORITE Quinten film. I officially request that you react to it.
Movie was so hard 🔥
I watched this in 2005 in my cousins (i was only 6) 2AM by myself and i have autism so if i get scared or uncomfortable it's non verbal, i was so traumatized lmao
I also watched when I was a kid. by myself and boy it was not easy to sleep after so much gore 😅

The name on the cereal box was "Ka Boom" That sounds like a good place to keep a gun if you ask me.
I'm 46 and still don't know how to whistle 😂😢
Feel your pain !
I’m 33 and I also don’t know how to whistle 😂
We absolutely gotta do Django unchained at some point
While I know how to whistle, at 35 I still can only do one tone. So I'm just one step ahead of you for what that's worth.
O Ren wasnt the worst, just the easiest to find

The OST is top 5 for me
I can whistle but I’ve never been able to snap my fingers. We’re all defective in some way. Lol
I was allowed to watch this when I was 11, seriously thought it was the coolest shit at the time
The yellow suit is from one of Bruce lee movies yep he wear something like that of course I like all your reaction you the best too yep 👍🏼 💯♥️💚
Silly Rabbit.

Lowkey you looking good in this video

You need to react to more Quentin Tarantino movies. They're all must-see gems. Especially Reservoir Dogs, Inglorious Basterds, and The Hateful Eight.

The last scene w O-Ren... it was soap ❄️
Loved your reaction, very well spoken, 👌 👏 aussie girl, x

When are you doing vol 2 ?, I'll be there for that, such a great film you're going to love it., ❤️ aussie girl.
“A weapon is only dangerous if you know how to use it“? Um… No. If you don’t know how to use a weapon, it can still be dangerous. A weapon is only not dangerous if you never use it.
