Texas gets it name from the film Paris, Texas. and has no connection with the state of Texas . It was founded by Sharleen Spiteri and John Mcelhone, the film is liked by one of the band. Their music is alt rock/pop. They are well known here in the UK and Europe, I don't know why they didn't make an impression in the US. They are still performing, and they played at Glastonbury last year. The last time I saw the was at them was at The Lowry Theatre in Manchester
The film Paris, Texas is named after the town of Paris in the state of Texas, and filming took place in the state of Texas. Of course there's a connection.
Love me some roots rock. Rock, blues, whatever you want to call it. There's just a relatability to it. Great reaction!
Thanks for reminding me about Texas. I saw them live a few times. They're awesome! Good choice.
They still sound as good as or even better than it did when it came out in 1989
