For me, the issue is - unlike the Celtics historic offense - there might not be a lot of consistency in Sacramento moving forward. 0.5 basketball works until people just consider themselves hot and start shooting. Shows much research you did. The Kings starting line up is the best defensive starting line up in the league. The defensive rating are skewers numbers since the Kings a lot, and many of it was from the beginning of the season. A team can't be bad defensively when you keep going on a run late in the 4th.

This Kings team is reminiscent of 3 Oakland sports teams: the 2002 MoneyBall Oakland A's, 2012 Oakland A's & the 2016 Oakland Raiders. I say those 2 A's teams because of low expectations & the low key signings of players that are role players at best. I also say the 2016 Oakland Raiders because of their high powered offensive game, but shitty defensive game. What's also crazy is that the Kings coach is a great defensive mind just like the Raiders coach back in 2016. I really hope this team makes the playoffs this year. Their fans have gone through a lot for 16 long years of losing.
I know it sounds crazy but I really want Sacramento to sign boogie, I think having him would be special especially if we made the playoffs, it’s be a nice send off and thank you to one of our superstars who was there when we were awful. I miss boogie:/
I love their offseason moves but the biggest game changer was hiring Mike Brown as HC. He brought that GSW mentality to Sacramento and I'm glad the team is finally winning. Hope they can make the playoffs this year and some trades to improve their team defense.
You did see some of the adjustment in the recent Grizzly game where the offense was struggling and they were pulling away. You did see some mental mistakes in the last 5 minutes that made the game alot closer then it should of been, but they still pulled it out. The main takeaway I have so far this season is they have players that can pick up the scoring slack if a player is struggling, you have 6 players scoring in the double digits. The biggest hole is rim protection ... Sabonis is not a shot blocker and they don't really have anyone on the bench they can go to that is a rim protector. If they can make a trade for that type of player who can sub in to protect the paint then that would greatly increase their defense. They are not actually that bad of a defensive team in the guard or wing position it's the paint area that is the issue.
Kings i think for now it's a fun to watch team that they are getting results. I think their enthousiasm is a big part of why they are getting those results. I believe the will come down to earth because i dont think they will maintain the same shot efficiency plus they are bad in defence. I think that they will nearly miss the play-in this year. Now for bright side of things, i believe they are in the correct path to make something good in the upcoming years.
It's funny when people who actually pay attention to the NBA say something like "the Kings will be good next year," and other people laugh it off because they don't have a deep understanding of the league. I'm proud to say I'm one of those people who made the prediction that the Kings would be a sleeper team this season.
Lakers fans knew how much Malik Monk meant to them. He was the bright spot on the team in a season where everything that could go wrong went wrong. We knew there would be a higher demand for him, something that with our currently salary cap we couldn't match and even though there were rumors of him taking a pay cut to stay with the team, he went to Sacramento. Good for him for deciding to chase the bag when he had the chance. No way he'd disappear after arriving in Sac.
ya if you actually watched the games you'd know that the defense has been better then the numbers. because of the high pace teams are scoring more because they are getting more shots up . plus the teams are making contested shots or we would leave bad shooters open and they are actually making those shots when they are a bad shooter....like the Pistons did on that game. Teams are over confident when they play us because everyone shits on us, so they still don't take us seriously. also the refs have been historically bad for us near the 2 min mark of the fourth quarter, giving teams hope or giving them the game. if you actually watched the games then you would know the first 4 games we lost and the 2 we later lost was because of bad officiating. but of course you don't watch the games why would you. if you did you would know we have been bad the last few years because our bench was horrible and the coaching was really bad, now that we got Mike Brown, he has been coaching the hell out of Fox in practice. anyways that's my 2 cents.
The refs has been bad completely. Huerter can tell there is a complete bias against the Kings by the refs since it was never been this bad for him with ATL.
started watching the NBA in 2008 and I've never seen the Kings in the playoffs. Every time a team I was rooting for lost to the Kings it felt like an insult
Lifelong Kings fan. Of course I hope they make the playoffs, but I'm honestly just happy they're playing exciting basketball. Even in (most of) the games they've lost, they've been right there and had a shot at winning. Or when they've dug themselves a hole, they fight back. The defense needs work but several pieces are there; Fox and TD are slick with the steals, Mitchell is the new "Glove", and the help from Monk on rotations is great. Just gotta put it all together for the full 48min.
No one saw the Kings being this good. The way they are playing right now is insane. DeAaron Fox is averaging 25 and 6 on ridiculous efficiency. I like the Kevin Huerter acquisition too. Another 3 point specialist who can get a bucket at any time. If they keep this up, they might end the long playoff drought. Long season to go though. We’ll see what happens.
What's crazy is that their 3pt% is that high while Monk and Barnes are shooting way below their average. Overall spacing is what matters and this is living proof.
you say nothing stood out about Mike Brown in the NBA previously, but he did get two 60+ wins seasons with the Cavs when they didn't have the best roster
Domas is a LOT better of a defender than people think. What he isn’t is a rim protector. Also, Kings defrtg in their win streak is top 20 or it was a couple games ago, maybe 16-19th. Their def rtg since the 0-4 start is also a bit above 27th. They show flashes of being very solid defensively and the coach expects to end the season around 15-17th
I been saying this since last year. Let's get Jonathan Isaac from the Magic! He is 6'11. Shot blocker. But is super quick. And can handle the ball and is a skinny version of Sabonis. He can run the break or with the break. He would be great
Jonathan Isaac hasn't played since tearing his ACL. In 2020. He's missed each of the last two full seasons, and there's no guarantee he'll even play again.
@@seand1011 exactly. Has had time to recover. And hasn't played for a while so prly can be had for a bag of chips. They have alot of bigs there. Big upside for nothing. I would take it. If they ask for too much....then nah
DeAron Fox has made me a killing this year lol, the bookies never rate him. Yet he goes 25plus 4rebounds and 6 assists every week. This multi pays 5 to 1. Chuck him in for 2x 3 pointers for big bag
YES!!! The Kings make the playoffs and will continue to be the surprise team of the season (along with Utah). In fact, I predict the Kings will win 50+ games this season.
I'm predicting the kings over the next few years to have the same success as the 2000s jazz. Fox and sabonis will be the new deron williams and boozer. And murrray will be the new AK47 lol
If they keep up this level of play by midseason, I think it's safe to say "losing to the Kings is no longer a stunner because they're no longer the old Kings, guys." Mike Brown definitely deserves credit for all of this which led to the resurgence of this Kings team. Of course he learned a lot from Steve Kerr back when he was an assistant for Golden State although honestly he's been a really good coach back in his Cleveland days where he had LeBron James and he was the Coach of the Year in 2009.
The fact they are on this current winning steak ALONE is incredible. Keep in mind, the bottom could still fall out at some point and they could crash and burn but at least for now, there's optimism - something this franchise has rarely experienced since '06.
I been saying they were gonna win 48. I expected it when you start mo Harkless and holiday and with no bench scoring you expect to lose. Monk/Keegan/huerter a motivated fox and a good coach is what they needed. You can’t double fox or sabonis with Barnes/Keegan/huerter/monk
From the games I’ve watched Sabonis actually isn’t the bad defensively, his lateral quickness is pretty good he just gets called for a lot of tricky tack fouls that aren’t really fair. I think the kings statistically are a better defensive team with sabonis in the floor
Proud to say i became a kings fan after the summer league, i was a believer since before the season start and ik thats still a very short span of being a fan but im very happy for the kings
I don t think they are consistent enough on offense and their defensive rating won t improve with the players they have. In my opinion, they are a play in team in the best-case scenario.
Crazy to think that for a decade straight, they have been drafting good players from college and just not panning out. Jimmer and the like were so good on college but never had a good season in the NBA. I don't know if that is the player just being bad or the development for them is horrible. When was the last time 4 Californian teams on the playoffs?
As a Kings fan I'm so happy with what we're doing, I do agree that the shooting will come down a bit at some point and it does make me nervous about the defence but this team has gelled so well so early that I think they'll still win games. People talk about Sabonis' defence but the thing they don't talk about, is that he doesn't take a lot of fouls. Which is a huge plus for us. It'd be one thing if he wasn't a great defender and got into foul trouble all the time but he doesn't. He's able to stay on the court which helps a lot. I love the way this teams headed and we're only going to get better. LIGHT THE BEAM
After watching literally every game during this drought it feels weird watching them win now lol. I mean I have cousins who have clowned on me for YEARS for wearing kings jerseys! Now those same cousins are posting on IG “light that beam” while wearing a kings jersey!

Demarcus Cousins and Tyreke Evans were supposed to be the next great Kings team. Then it was Marvin Bagley and Fox. Bagley was a bust bit Fox is a hit
Andy Hoops Wednesdays YESSIR !!!!!
Overall spacing is what matters and this is living proof.
you say nothing stood out about Mike Brown in the NBA previously, but he did get two 60+ wins seasons with the Cavs when they didn't have the best roster
i hope they can keep this up that be awesome
Waiting for you to drop something on my Kings team for like forever. 7 game win streak did it. We are finally relevant for a minute. LoL
Now if only we can get a true rim protector to play next to Sabonis…then we can go even higher
Good thing our defense is average now
Steve Kerr had to get surgery during the 2017 finals and mike brown stepped in and head coached during the finals
great to see my kings developing into an all star team
Free Throws , no injuries, tighten up defense and they are in ~ offense is A Purple Beam ready to light the sky
I can see it but they gonna need to get a defensive minded player cause they will get cooked in Playoffs
I'm predicting the kings over the next few years to have the same success as the 2000s jazz. Fox and sabonis will be the new deron williams and boozer. And murrray will be the new AK47 lol
Lol I’ll just take the playoffs for right now!
the kings being good is crazy
If they keep up this level of play by midseason, I think it's safe to say "losing to the Kings is no longer a stunner because they're no longer the old Kings, guys."
Mike Brown definitely deserves credit for all of this which led to the resurgence of this Kings team.
Kings had an off night shooting the ball against the grizzlies and still pulled out the win. With probably best defense all season so far
No mention about Keegan Murray?
Jaylen Brown next video Andy Hoops 🙏🙏🙏
Andy hoops wasn’t old enough to watch the Bobby Jackson kings days
Proud to say i became a kings fan after the summer league, i was a believer since before the season start and ik thats still a very short span of being a fan but im very happy for the kings
I don t think they are consistent enough on offense and their defensive rating won t improve with the players they have. In my opinion, they are a play in team in the best-case scenario.
Kings most dangerous team in offense right now in the NBA but DEFENSE need improve individual 🔥🔥🔥
6th worst team was a stretch. Stop it. Kings fans including me said they would be a playoff team and said sky is the damn limit
Crazy to think that for a decade straight, they have been drafting good players from college and just not panning out. Jimmer and the like were so good on college but never had a good season in the NBA. I don't know if that is the player just being bad or the development for them is horrible. When was the last time 4 Californian teams on the playoffs?
Can someone explain to me that "light the beam" thing?🙏
Everytime the kings win the golden1 center lights up the beam
Shout out to the 2018-19 kings with David Joerger that were actually decent and were the 9th seed
Keegan Murray is having a solid year there.
After watching literally every game during this drought it feels weird watching them win now lol. I mean I have cousins who have clowned on me for YEARS for wearing kings jerseys! Now those same cousins are posting on IG “light that beam” while wearing a kings jersey!
Tell them to hop off the bandwagon. You deserve to say that to them. Lmao
man i thought they were best case scenario play in just cuz their defense is lacking and it still is mid at best. Great job to the kings and hope tgey make it far
