hey! I've bred my blue crayfish a few times but I've been planning on trying to get rare color combinations to hopefully be able to sell. how would i do that? I heard that blue crayfish don't create new colors
Hi! I am not too sure if the blues don’t generate new colors but I think if you mate them and their little ones several times they should create new colors. Because I used to breed shrimps like that
Question for you, can you force male and female crayfish to breed! I have seen some videos on RUclips were they put some crayfish in a very small Tupperware bowl and they say they forced them to breed them like that. Do you have any suggestions or comments for me please?
Hi, well you don’t necessarily have to per say “force” them. The male and female will just breed if they are together! But if you really want to breed, put male and female together in a small space and they will most definitely WILL mate! Try it and let me know how it goes!
I just feed mine variety of bottom feeder pellets. I’ve tried veggies but they make too much of a mess and the leftover is just too difficult to clean out.
Hello @mikesomma4348, that's a good question! Crayfishes don't berry eggs after just one mating, they usually mate several times before the female gets berried. Therefore, the mating process can take anywhere from a day to several weeks. But Once the female crayfish has mated proper amount and collected enough of the male eggs, then it would take anywhere from a week to couple of months before she is berried. Hope this helped!
Yes, I simply didn't have a filter suitable for this kind of setup so I used the sponge filter. So that is why I did very frequent water change. Plus they are only in there for about a month and gets shipped out so no worries in the water quality :)
@@WaterStTVsubscribe I see, thanks. Do you have any successful history of keeping other invertebrates or fish together with crayfish? If so what was the setup? And also I have a breeding pair of two juvenile crayfish and they seem to fight whenever they run into each other. Is this concerning? I know they can’t breed yet but the male is still bullying the female (this usually happens only when they roam and so I don’t believe it’s territorial). Do you have a website where I can see your inventory? I appreciate all the help
Just picked up my first pair Watching your videos thank you.🙃

Ty. At what size do they usually start mate
I’d say around 2inch size. Which would approximately be about 2-3months old?

How long until the female has the eggs on there tail after mating? Ty

Are the pinkish whiteish crayfish ghost lobsters
No throes are baby crayfishes
so this is one litter of crayfish from one pair separated by size basically? Is there a reason you chose sponge filters over other methods
