    REPOST from comments:
I own a 2016 1.4L Cruze and its treated me very well. I've put MILES on this thing so I love it. Got it at 36k and she's now sitting at 113k miles. She's ran great, minus common coolant system issues. I'll list all of the repairs I've made over the years below. I looked up Chevy Cruze videos and some gave me the great tip of "getting ahead of common issues/repairs and replace parts early to avoid future headaches", which is a GREAT idea. It'll cost a bit to DO IT ALL at once so take your time. But believe me, you will be happy you did. As I said most have been for the coolant system and so far I've vvvvvvv
Replaced the reservoir with the new, better Dorman reservoir.
    Replaced EVAP Purge Valve
New lower radiator hose, the thick hose that feeds from the radiator into the thermostat.
    The thermostat itself.
    Oxygen sensors, upstream & downstream.
    Coil pack & spark plugs.
    New, bigger battery.
All very easy fixes. Annoying but easy.
Parts were all from Dorman, ACDelco & Murray companies.
All purchased at Autozone, O'Reilly's or Amazon.
All well under $100 each too.
I hope this helps you and other Chevy Cruze owners!

I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze eco. It’s manual and I love it, it’s sitting at 130,000 miles right now and I’m just now getting issues with coolant and bank 1 too lean type stuff. Keeping it off the road and trying to fix it up is a struggle for me because I’m just now getting into this car stuff but videos like this keep me motivated to keep trying.

I have an 2012 cruze eco manual, after almost 10 years ownership, the only thing I need to change were coolant hose and engine mounts. the cost of coolant hose was ~100$, because I did not want to get my hands dirty and the mechanics charged me $60 labor. When getting the four engine (transmission) mounts, I changed the two on the upper level of the engine bay and ask the mechanic to change the lower two ($80), the parts were ~200$. the total of the engine mounts costed me ~300$. other than these two repairs, this cruze treats me well. One thing I like this cruze is the space in the engine bay is large, if you do not mind to get hand dirty, you could do almost anything, plus it gets really good 42mpg/high way. I really enjoy my little cruze.

Forgot one the Valve cover gasket goes bad, most likely because the check valve is bad in the intake manifold, learned that when I blew my second Valve cover, and replaced the intake at the same time.

All I can say is I bought a 2011 Cruze ECO with a 6-spd manual trans in the fall of 2012. It had about 28k miles on it. I sold it a couple of years later with about 75k miles. I got 42 MPG on every tank (I record everything in my cars. Everything.) and had zero problems with it. It was a fantastic car. I even put a trailer hitch on and hauled a utility trailer occasionally. Great car!

So it should be good when the car is near new.....when they are 5 or 6 years old is when they fall apart and breakdown, while others keep on going strong. The Cruze has a terrible reputation in Australia and used car yards are flooded with them because people don't want them.

Yes I changed the water outlet on my Chevy 2016 Cruze and now the accelerator doesn't work it says engine reduced power the top line that runs to the overflow was replaced with a different kind of wine would that cause the acceleration to decrease to where when you push the gas pedal it starts out fine and then it just loses power and after it cools down it will run again for about a quarter mile and then it loses power could it be that top hose that runs to the reservoir causing this problem because before I change the water outlet it ran fine

Hey dude, I'm really enjoying your vids and will be subbing to you too. I'm a huge Cruze fan also! I had a 2016 gen1 LS until I got my current ride, a 2018 LT Rs. The Gen1 never had any major problems. The 2018 I have there were two problems that came up around 35K miles ... engine air filter bracket started being problematic where the filter wouldn't stay seated, and had (actually just today) my upstream O2 sensor failed (short to ground causing P0172 and one other DTC). Otherwise, I'd say they're a great car. All cars will eventually have issues but these have been a couple of the most reliable and fun to drive cars I've ever had. Keep up the awesome work my brother, your content is so good!

149000 miles on my 2013 Cruze. So far I've replaced some of the coolant return lines, the coolant expansion tank, the VVT solenoid seals, the valve cover because of a bad PCV valve, coil pack, valve cover gasket, the water pump, the thermostat, the purge control valve and the turbo oil feed line. I do have a problem with my transmission jerking when I'm stopped at a red light at times. I've always had that problem since about the car in 2014. Although sometimes I think it's a little bit pronounced lately. My oil drain plug is a 17 mm plug.

I was curious as to why my 2014 Cruze keeps leaking coolant and DEADASS the spot you pointed out first in the beginning of the video is the same spot as mine lolll thank youuuu I have better understanding now haha. A couple questions tho, how many times have you had to replace the water hoses for your Cruze? And did you just keep topping it off in the reservoir with coolant until it was fixed? And how many times have you had to replace thermostat housing?

A lot of them transmission problems are from bad tcm. This is a common problem with chevy vehicles. I've had a Cobalt I put $1000 worth of parts on recommended by mechanics that didn't fix shit for long. Just to find out it was the tcm needed a little $7 wire from autozone. My cruze is having issues the transmission shop recommended a speed sensor I payed for it and fixed nothing. Then the Transmission shop recommended a new Trans. It's a code reads p0700 and it indicates issues with a control module right next to the battery with 2 or 3 plugs connected. It's a metal plate looking object. I fixed my cobalt with a ground wire now I have to try this on my cruze now that I remember. I will update you all

My 2011 cruze is a total nightmare 3 years after buying it with 6,000miles first thing went was the coil pack then a year after notice the radio went off and on for some reason some months later all the fault light such as check engine light traction fault lights hazard lights on dash (not outside )headlight side light on dashboard not (out side) seat belts light and sound took it to Vaxhall 3 times with a video showing the problems, they charge me for fault that came back after 5 months 2 times again i took it back to them they charge me twice again for diagnostic saying they couldn't find a problem park the car for 3 months and only used it on 3 miles journeys no fault at all until 3 months after I went back to my 26 miles a day journeys then it then didn't have those problems but a new one when engine would shut down while on the motorway that was the scariest one the good thing was i could get it going again only when you remove any of the battery cables and replaced it then it's starts again and won't do it again until the following day, It continues for months every day. Same as before park for a month used it for short journeys no problem ontill I go back to 26 miles a day .park up again same thing that fault is gone new one is engine shuts down randomly when moving off especially at traffic lights every day. The funny thing all these fault especially the engine cutting out while driving once you get it going again you can drive 400 miles more those faults don't show up again till the next day but it's just annoying kwow your car is going to shut down for sure especially right in front of a Bus. This car is my worst car because the fault not always there when l take it to mechanics I don't even bother I keep leaving it for a month and use it again till some other fault shows up for me it's a NIGHTMARE CAR
