For anyone thinking about doing this, I just put this one on my 2012 Cruze LTZ RS. The check engine light will come on for a day or so and give a system too lean code. Once you drive it a few times, the computer will learn to compensate the fuel for more air flow. The check engine light should go off on its own once the computer sorts out the new air/fuel ratio.
Interesting because mine never came on when installing. Glad the computer figured it out on its own though! Enjoy :)
Just installed mine on my 2011 Chevy Cruze 1.5l and I'm blown away by how loud the intake nose is, it's super cool. Highly recommend doing this to your Cruze

I've heard you loose torque with a "cold" air intake it still pulls hot air for the engine bay.

I just got my cruze about a year ago and been debating on getting a cold air intake. But man after hearing your car with it installed. Im definitely doing it lol

My cold air intake triggers a variety of check engine lights. Communication errors with the system but nothing under performing or malfunctioning, still sketchy to drive around with all the time. That aside though! I absolutely love listening to her breath!

Hmm that’s odd that it would trigger check engine lights. I’ve heard some do but mine never has.

@@creedals876 i haven't checked, came with the car when I bought it. considering i had to replace the turbo as soon as i got it, hearing that everything was reading out right and it driving well was good enough for me. aside from taking it off to clean a few times, i haven't messed with it. and yeah lol everythings plugged in
Was thinking of getting a blow off valve for my 16 cruze rs but I liked the sound your spectre cold air intake makes also. Prob get the CAI instead. What's the difference from a dry and one that needs oil? My 94 6 spd vette has a k&n triple head cold air but I've never oiled it lol prob should. Also like the rs badge in the grill

For $280 you get an oiled k&n filter, ZZP branded heat shield, aluminum tubing w/ MAF mounting connection (& screws), silicone elbows and connector brackets.

What did you do with the small intake hose that ran into the stock intake hose ? Cant find what it is so I just put a tiny crankcase air filter on it ? Any advice
The rubber was long because it was going to shrink when it gets hot.

pretty cool man, i'm currently running, CAI/Trifecta Tune/ and awaiting my exhaust for my 2014 1.8 slowpoke, it finally has some get up to it. Glad to see other people who like the cruze for what it is!

Just installed mine and the L bracket to mount the heat Shield to wasn’t in the box🤭 Time to contact them. It sits in there fairly snug though so works for now until I get the part…

Any tips for putting on the rubber trim for the heat shield? I just installed mine not too long ago and wasn’t able to get it on all the way
As you can see in the video, we just put some force on it to get it to stay on the heat shield. You should hear the rubber trim push into place after working with it a little.

Was thinking of getting this for my 2014. But does it trip a code? Or anything? I’ve heard that CAÍ on a reg car is just going to mess with it. And not in a good way… any true tested info on this? Thanks.
I haven’t had any issues with codes and I’ve had mine installed for a year already. Hope that helps!

@@jonathonclaro i was informed recently that its the fuel injector plungers moving up and down.
Because theyre top mounted they can be heard easily. Not to mention the fuel injectors in a cruze are louder than normal as it is.
I've been wondering why mine started making that sound.
Get a tune with catless down pipe car will run a lot better.... I got a Cruze myself tuned with pretty every bolt on mod you can get for it beside turbo and inter cooler
@ZealTeam I’m not sure what my whp is but I can say it will stay side by side to a Ford Focus ST in a quarter mile race and I’m tuned by trifecta

Yes normally it does that. It’s more prominent with a cold air intake installed though.

greetings from brazil , i have an intake in my cruze too , and i'm worried that this filter will let the dust through , have you noticed that ? Did you have any problem ?? they say that because it is less restrictive, more dust gets into the engine. thanks!!
I have had no problems with dust so far. Spectre (the brand I have) recommends to clean the filter every 7,000 miles or around 11,000 kilometers. Google what your cold air intake company recommends. It also depends on where you live, if you are in an area with a lot of dust, sand and other debris they you may have to clean it more often.

What about the little hose that hooked up at the bottom of the stock air box? I just installed mine but I notice the hose at the bottom.
Ya I sorta just tucked that out of the way. I believe it is useless for cold air intakes.

No tuning before/after the installation??? I wanted to get turbo but realized it requires tuning which I can't afford along with the turbo so landed on cold air intake. All of the websites I'm seeing say a cold air intake doesnr require tuning but I saw a video that says intake parts DO require tuning???
I have absolutely no tuning done to my car. I simply just replaced my original air intake with a cold air intake.
Since when does having turbo require tuning???? 👉🏻😂☠️ I'm lost 4 words lmao
@iceberglimm6648 multiple sources say that they're required or at least recommended. If you don't practice that and your turbos run great, then great for you!

I just installed a cold air intake and i got the sound.
Do you know if all intakes make that sound or if that’s integrated into the intake you purchased ?

None of that. It was as simple as installing it and that’s all👍

I went with Spectre because it doesn’t need oil. I would recommend finding something within your budget and then reading reviews/RUclips videos about it to make your decision👍

Have you noticed a change in the MPG? Either good or bad?
Honestly, haven't noticed much of a change...Meaning if it does affect MPG negatively or positively, you can barely tell a difference.
Is it only for the RS ? I have the base LS would it fit ?
Yes it should check their website to make sure. Also do you have a 1.4 litre? Because if you don’t, then I believe you will need to find a different cold air intake to make it work.

I have a 2012 1.4L LT Turbo that has the RS package. The RS part is just a bit of a spoiler, skirt and a couple other things

@@jonathonclaro about three weeks ago, I constantly complained to my mechanic how no one believed my car was turbo charged. He said that I needed a new intake to emphasize the sound; while I was with him that day, he gave me a free water pump because he has another customer who has the same exact Chevy that I have.
Two weeks ago, he messaged me : “ I have an air intake for you “ - it was his other client - his other client had recently bought a Chevy Cruz two and he took it somewhere else and they told him to get a new air intake. He does a lot of deliveries and he’s not into cars at all like we are, so he said the part was not necessary for him. He wanted the original stock part.
Thankfully, that’s what I had and my mechanic put us in touch and he swapped the intakes for us.!!

@@jonathonclaro thanks so much I bought the Generic one for 80 bucks on eBay and it caused a check engine light so after watching your video I purchased one just like 10 minutes ago and it’s the same exact one you have but I bought it on eBay and use the make a offer button and snagged it for 160 so like 180 after tax

Who helps me, my car throws code p0299, it lacks power that I must review thanks 1.4 turbo 2015
When I googled the code it mentioned something about the turbo. I believe I had the same issue happened and I ended up having to get my manifold intake replaced.
I had this because of an oil pan gasket leak
