Any chance you could do a ddr5 memory sweet spot video? This is definitely the CPU I'm choosing. Great content, really love the sff stuff.
Great vid man
Hey could you make another video on current (i.e. DDR5?) ITX monoblocks? EK has 3 for the Asus Z690/790 and X670E boards, not sure what else there are
Thanks!
Hello, I would like to buy a Ryzen 7800x3d, but I am worried about burning out and damaging the processor and motherboard, so I would choose the Ryzen 9 7900x3d to avoid damage. Does the Ryzen 9 7900x3d have the same issues as the 7800x3d? I chose the ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI as the motherboard. Please, give me an advice.
Definitely my next CPU! I don't care about anything outside of games but good point about checking whether actual titles benefit from the cache. Call of duty, DCS and maybe War Thunder?
Is there any news on A620 support for these? I heard some may not support higher than 65W so 120W for the 7800 might be too high?
Diem what I've found, AsRock has 2 A620. One 65w and 120w. However, you can get a B650 for $120.
Still wary of getting this for multithread outside of games but you can't really argue with those game numbers. I mean, I can see some negative press around this CPU for those reasons - low end GPUs probably wouldn't make much difference too but it is fastest in a low of stuff. Do you recommend any A620 boards yet?
I predict lots of comments about A620 boards! In short some of them will support the 7800X3D, some might need tweaking and others might hurt performance. Doesn't seem particularly clear yet
It's honestly why I've gone the two PC route in my office. I've switched all of my productivity back to my 5950x and am building my 7800x3D to be all gaming, all the time.
@@brandongerofsky4817 Probably the best option if you can afford it. I’m thinking 7950X3D for that reason for a single build but it’s maybe not consistent enough in games.
I agree they should have done this earlier. Might have improved AM5 sales! DDR5 still expensive though. I saw a 32GB DDR4 3200 kit for like $70 this week.
Mobo and ram is cheap. No more excuses.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor ($450.00)

Total: $731.97
My 2x32 gskill z5neo ram kit 6000mhz cas30 cost me 380 euro xD
Love this CPU 👌🏾
@CrazyTechLab Decent review however I recommend you normalize your audio volume a bit. The intro is super loud, benchmark voice over super loud while the rest is normal. Also where are the specs used for the benchmarks?
Noted apologies for that! Some gremlins in the software I use that didn’t normalise properly. My fault for not double checking before uploading!
Specs are at 5:25 but
Asus ROG Strix X670E Gaming Wifi
32GB Kingston DDR5 6400
RTX 4090
Custom liquid coping system
@@CrazyTechLab Nice, BTW I meant the specs for intel set-up as well. Perhaps note it in each slide + description. Would be interesting to know what DDR4 or DDR5 you rocking on that intel test system. Interesting you got that 6400 Mhz working... on AM5 usually a bit unstable above 6200. I only mean well :)
@@ElCarl0s Noted! Still learning :) Apart from a bit of extra time retraining at boot, I've not noticed any issues with 6400 on the AMD system. Same speed for the Intel system too, mainly for continuity since both kits were sponsored a while ago and I'll continue using them for the foreseeable future. I've honestly not found a great deal of difference between DDR4 and DDR5 in games or content creation so figured it was best to go with the same speed on both systems. Till recently, anything above 5000MHz was expensive, and now we're getting even faster kits out there, but with benching and dealing with multiple launches every 12 months, simplicity is key!
Interesting. So this is like a 7700 but with more cache? Is that all that makes the games faster?

Buy the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D now - geni.us/7800x3D
Is it Asus B650E-I in the video?
No X670E-I
7800X3D or 7900 as i see small difference?
If I'll use process lasso vcache cores for 7950x3d it will perform at the same lvl or higher then 7800x3d due higher frequency, am I right?
Not tested that, but yes in theory as the 7950X has more cores and higher frequencies it should do better.
@@CrazyTechLab Thanks!
@@CrazyTechLab nope. The higher freq is on the ccd with out the cache. ;)
And it doesn’t have more cores. You will ONLY use the 8 cores with vcache when gaming. Last I checked, 8 is equivalent to,… well 8.
@@96kylar We’re talking about performance in multithreaded content creation apps where 3D V-Cache has zero impact. It has 16 cores so it will be better in this situations which is why the 7950X3D gets 35000 in Cinebench while the 7800X3D gets only 18000.
It’s a gaming focused CPU… buy it if you mainly game.
It’s good to have a choice, so if you hardly game… go grab a non X3D CPU.
Funny part is that everyone think put the 7800X3D as the winner of gaming but he is really not ! 25 games tested combo 13900KS and 7800DDR5 is unbeatable especially in 1440P and 4K resolution ! If you want see the real benchmarks done by professionnals go chech koreans or japanese hardware reviews !
I thought the 7950X3D was a bit garbage but I do see you point about it being good at both kinda
Yeah and super efficient in productivity too.
Think I'm going with the 13700K. I need it for multithread outside of games and just can't be doing with the climb down from the 7800X3D. That's a bit gap in Cinebench for example
Probably a wise choice - it is a monster in multithread for the price. Just depends what you're looking for really!
What is Cinebench for? Seriously!
@@CrazyTechLab Just look at your own power consumption chart dude. 193W vs 386W. Very wise choice indeed...LOL...
The 3 X3D chips are the best to get if money isn't an issue. 7900/7700/7600 are good value but needs to be cheaper. They cost nearly the same or sometimes more than the X versions. Intel just runs too hot.
I have a 6800xt paired with a 7800x3d. Kingston FURY Renegade 6000 cl32 overclocked to 6200 cl30. Asus b650e-e motherboard. EVGA 1000w PSU. KC3000 m.2 2tb. Deep Cool Gammaxx V2 360 AIO. Phanteks Enthoo tempered glass case.
You're own currency? 🤔
Helooooooooooooooooooo it just runs at 4.8 ghz what do you expect ?
Rule no.1 with CPUs. Frequency means nothing. Architecture and IPC (instructions per clock) are far more important... A CPU could run at 10GHz and still be slower than a 5GHz CPU with a superior architecture and twice the IPC
@@CrazyTechLab i thought, Intel has better IPC ?
@@cuongtang9539 It has much higher frequencies but similar performance. That generally means lower IPC. GHz means nothing. It's all about architecture and with the 7800X3D - the low latency provided by its 3D V-Cache. That's why it's so fast in games despite relatively low frequencies compared to Intel
@@CrazyTechLab soo i have a 14700K, i just play games i bought that one because i always had i7. Should i switch to 78003xd ?
1440p gaming
@@cuongtang9539 I mean the 7800x3d will be faster in most games but probably not worth swapping platforms. The 14700k is still a great CPU but it’s much better than the 7800X3D outside of games.
If someone puts the effort to manually configurate the 7950x3d and unlock it's full capabilities then it is obvious 7950x3d is still the king
It takes, about 11 seconds to hit Ryzen master and turn off the second ccd. Done. And,…… the 7800x3d still wins most of the time. I mean, it’s obvious. Like ya said.
@@96kylar who said anything about the useless Ryzen master program? And why to turn of 2nd ccd? Use process lasso and with proper setting when both 7800x3d and 7950x3d hit maximum performance the 7950x3d will wake up the other cores of the second ccd to boost the performance even further
@@AegisDynamics cool. Use process lasso and you will STILL ONLY USE 8 cores. You know, the ones with the vcache your fucking paying for??? Lol. Jesus Christ.
@@AegisDynamics your not going to “wake up more cores” when gaming. Lol. Edit. And if you want to, here comes the biggest latency between the two ccd’s,..and watch your performance shit the bed. But hey boss. It seems you get it.
@@AegisDynamics also. I’ve had my 7800x3d (edit - for 4 days)Replaced my 7950x in my daily gaming rig. And I love it. The 7950x will go in another build. Cheers man.
20 times you lowering and highring sound in video very anoying because in 3 am it bloows up my speakers so loud
Only in AMD where the flagship product gets beaten by a lower tier, cheaper priced model 😆
It competes with its own product line 😂 Now I understand why they needed to delay its release. 🤣
This is a good strategy. They don't care which one sells more as long as they are moving products. And I'm sure they were farming for 7800X3D hence the delay and knowing it will sell the most. Let's not kid ourselves, the 7950X3D is the real champ here. No comprise CPU. Look at the total system power.
In gaming. And gaming only. Some want the other performance the other 8 cores give. Some done. Cheers.
You need to dive far deeper than just 3 games for a "gaming" CPU. Especially when you chose 3 games that are highly benefitted by vcache and hardly a good measurement for overall gaming.
Much like the 5800x3d before it this is just too much for an 8 core CPU in 2023. It needs to be far closer to $350 to make sense especially on the more costly AM5 platform.
Great chip, bad value.
Unfortunately I’m just one guy doing the benchmarking and to add benchmarks for all the other CPUs in the graphs would have taken took long but it’s something I’m going to be looking into that in future. It’s why I switched up to a 4090 for these tests instead of my usual mid range CPU. Thankfully there are plenty of other benchmarks out there for the CPU from channels that have one guy in the back office churning out the numbers. I prefer to actually have hands on and do the tests myself 😊
@Zodwraith Cope. Go make your own "12700kf" build since you want to delete or hide 😉. It ain't gonna beat the 5800X3D with DDR4. Lol. Yup those cheap boards can run a full blown 7950X and doesn't require a $150 or exotic cooling.
@@itsatrap4986 You just keep proving you're the biggest AMD fanboy on every video. If you _must_ know I actually DID do my own 12700k build I just finished assembling last night. I never said it would beat the 7800x3d, but it'll be close enough to not notice with my 3080ti instead of the 4090 everyone uses to make it look good. I got the chip for $250 and an open box z690 tomahawk for $97. I already had some fast Samsung B die so only an idiot would buy 6000+DDR5 to gain a whopping 2-3%.
That's a full platform upgrade before you even approach the price of your precious X3D that falls flat on it's face outside of games. You know, the place that CPU power _actually_ matters because you're not GPU bound?
When it comes to price to performance, the spec that matters the most, that 12700k completely annihilates the X3D.
@@zodwraith5745 🥱😴 didn't read.
@@itsatrap4986 I’m glad you didn’t lol. So many weirdos online trying to justify or prove that their product is better then x or y. Like we don’t give a crap, touch some grass
As expected. 7900x3d and 7950x3d are a waste of silicone and 7800x3d = 12700kf OCed to 5.2 with 4000 cl16 memory on a cheaper Mobo for less $$, I'll pass on this overpriced crap.
Sure buddy. Cope.
@@itsatrap4986 coping just great with my 9900k and no reason to upgrade.
