Finally, mine is war-ready. I feel sorry for the guys showing up at the Pan War who will be on the receiving end of this thing's fury. Finally I can get revenge for all of those Out of Darts point-blank HIRricane blasts. The Hera is stupidly easy to mod, but it's pretty easy to do cosmetic mods with as well; so I can recommend picking one up if you're into that.

You got the name close enough, haha. Some testing on mine seems to show it feeds fine below a certain trigger pull speed, but just yanking the trigger isn't firing 2 when a mag is in (only one click). I suspect the second round isn't fully seated and is being compressed. I'll be playing with the mechanism when I get time next week, and will hopefully have a solution (if someone doesn't get to it first). Thanks for the shout out, nice work!

WalcomS7 I've confirmed that the mechanism is just spinning too fast to feed reliablely. At the cost of a sacrificed feeding wheel, I've been able to get it too feed much faster. It does involve shaving material off the back of each feed "ear", which allows more time for a proper feed. Let me do some thorough testing and I will put up a video.

This is why I drink double tap root beer.
I'd argue flywheels with a wheel replacement will still get an edge on the Hera in range and can take higher cap magazines, but the thing's still cool and what peeps wanted out of the RIVAL line from the beginning.
I'm also thinking the most elegant solution to getting the Hera's switch problem out is a MOSFET and the stock one, though it's good to know a submini is still an option.

um Walcom I don't think you did the mod for the burst fire right, I think you forgot to shave down the trigger so it won't clip with the body, I could be wrong but from what I saw, that is what is wrong.

I'm new to nerf and I wanna know if at wars can you use rival blasters while other people are using normal blasters? Are there certain rounds or something? Just wondering.
The Tusk Plays That depends on where you go, you should ask who is running the war you go to.
Generally at a superstock war (where almost everything is modified) RIVAL is no problem and is generally allowed along with everything else. Of course, it will still depend.

You just ask but usually yes given they don't ask specifically for darts. It's just troublesome not being too easily reload off the ground.
I feel like it's not really a pistol. More like a secondary or even a compact primary. Honestly love it's beauty in stock form.
If youre running it as a primary, why not just use a modified Nemesis with a high rate of fire? Unless you have a second cut down Hera to dual wield...personally i like the ability to semi-auto normally.

Sweet mod. Nerf Vagabond is another blaster with a finicky trigger. At least with mine if you don't pull it just right it doesn't rotate the barrel.

Does anyone know where I could get a burst wave for relatively cheap? I'm getting back into the nerf game, and I have found I love boomco, but they're near dead. The burst wave retailed for $15, but I can't find it ANYWHERE.

Looks awesome even though I like the look of the full Hera better. Though why does everyone see the Hera as a secondary? To me it just seems like it's meant to be a primary.

You could mount a second hera on top of another one, saves space, and gives you 2 flywheel cages throwing balls downrange at once
Hey Walcom you could use the thin black plastic bar from the rear side of the blaster to make a grip guard if you really wanted to.

It totally would, but we all know I'm not smart enough to mess with a Mosfets and stuff. I can barely fumble my way through wiring blasters.
I think a pkm mag pouch would fit it. Its big for a holster but if you stick a piece of cardboard in there it can work

Well... if you can decide when to shoot once instead of twice, and know how to do it so that it will happen how you want to, then I think it's more of a selector switch. Of course, if you practice this 1_shot 2_shot thing as a skill.🤔
