Here I show how to get inside a solenoid to recover copper
Hi, my name is James and I love scrapping metal for money. I scrap it all, copper, brass, aluminum etc...
Come join me on my scrapping adventures where I share how I scrap items for easy money. I sometimes will go street scrapping or dumpster diving looking for scrap metal.
Please have a look at my scrapping videos and I hope I earn your subscription to my channel.
Thank you for stopping by and God bless y'all

You’re inventive as heck
Thank you brother, I appreciate it.
I really like the machete trick, I can't wait to try it.
I love it, I think you will too.
Thank you for watching.
I do too. Have you tried it yet? That’s pretty cool how he does that
Thank you brother
I'm going to be your 1.07kth+ sub.
One day I'm going to say 'Remember when there were only a thousand of us?'
Okay, 1.07k of us? +1?
I've been following you for a while. You gave some of my favorite scrappers a shout out on the first video that I watched. I'm going to say hey to Moose Scrapper. His was my first scrap channel experience. Good dude. Haven't seen anything from him in quite some time. I hope he's doing well.
Thank you so much for choosing to subscribe to my channel. I’m blown away by every one who has subscribed and watches my videos.
There’s more channels I want to give shout outs too, I feel like there’s always so much more to be learned.
I honestly forgot about Moose, good guy. Hope he’s doing ok.
I just got 10 of those from work last week, easy money. To bad they only weigh 5 oz or so. Copper that is. God bless young man
Not a whole lot of weight but it does add up! Thank you for watching.
Thank you and God bless you too!
A must for any scrappers to have a good vise.. nice break down video Sir
A good vise is like having one or two extra hands. Lol. Thank you for watching buddy.
That's Right. I have 4 now and I'm looking forward to finding more
@@ThatsRightRecycling can’t have too many, right? Lol
Awesome
Thank you for watching.
Got a few i need to scrap - that was helpful.
Awesome! Glad to help.
Nice video
Thank you!
I prefer to crush the lip of the plastic spool. Everything done in seconds. Have you ever made a video on mining a Plug "Coil"? I haven't messed with them because the older ones have a poured plastic or polymer resin which is tough to kill
You just hit it with a hammer? The plastic spool.
No I haven’t done any of those. Sounds like I don’t be lol.
Thank you for watching.
Watching this again. Probably 5 times now. 😂
Well hey, that’s awesome, that really helps my channel brother.
Almost surprised you didn't use the machete trick on the winding...lol
😂😂 I’m more than a one trick pony 😂
Always wondered what’s inside these! Thanks for showing!
You are welcome. It’s a bit surprising how much goodies are inside.
Good quick and easy method! Might be able to tear off one end of the plastic of the coil with pliers or side cutters, and slip the roll of copper off the spool. Have done that with other smaller solenoid coils.
Sometimes I do that but sometimes the plastic is really tough. Thank you for watching.
Hey I like your videos man, another way to unwind a coil of wire like that is to put a short ½" copper pipe in a drill and spin the wire right onto the pipe. Take care brother
Nice tip, thank you!
Thank you for watching, I appreciate it.
Amen
God bless you brother!
Gracias por la enseñanza ahora estoy reciclando pequeña cosas que antes no le daba importancia ❤
That’s awesome, im so happy you enjoyed my video.
Absolutely love your content,do you have any videos that show your face 🙂
Thank you!
Not at the moment.
Thank you for watching.
I don't know how you are getting the views you get! That's amazing!
It’s truly been amazing!
Great video, now I wish I hadn't past a bunch of these up. Didn't realize the amount of goodies inside. Thanks for this video.
Thank you for watching! I'm happy you learned something from my video!
@@scrapitall200 I've been scraping for just over a year, learn alot from trial and error. My new task now is to find me a bench vice. I've also subscribed to your channel now.
@@dalemills8052 Thank you for subscribing. Trial and error is how I've learned most of my scrapping techniques. look on facebook market place and pawnshops for a vise.
I've never come across one of those, but if I do...
They are great! Thanks for watching buddy.
Great informational video bud !!
Thank you my friend.
Great tear down. Thank you for sharing. Just subscribed.
Thank you for subscribing and your comment, I’m happy you liked it.
Never knew they had copper
Thank you for watching.
@scrapitall200 you are welcome
Awesome tear down! I’ll be binge watching all your videos! CheeRs Brother 🤘🏻💚♻️🛠️💚🤘🏻
Thank you so much! Have an awesome day!
@@scrapitall200 same to you James!
I use my cordless drill to speed up the unwinding process with another screwdriver in the chuck.
Fantastic idea, thanks!
This is the solenoid from a car or truck starter-motor? Where else can they be found?
Yes, this is a solenoid from a vehicle (I don’t remember where I found it) every starter will have one, but some are internal of the starter, others are separate from the starter like this one. Ford uses these types of solenoids in cars and trucks and you’ll always find them bolted somewhere under the hood.
Thank you for watching.
These types of solenoids are used in many applications,,
Electric winch controls
Older power circuits for off road lights, and things that need higher amperage to operate,
Good day I have 2 of them , not knowing what is inside Thanks
You’re welcome buddy.
I had no idea. Interesting
Good copper in them. Although they can be aluminum sometimes. Thank you for watching.
Nice job blessing to you walk with God my friend
Thank you so much! I am nothing without God! God bless you, brother!
Would have done the same thing with that coil. Great video.
Thank you, I appreciate it.
When you file the copper what are you looking for
Sometimes I have found brass that is coated in copper. Thanks for your comment.
New subscriber here great video
Thanks for subscribing, I just returned the favor.
@@scrapitall200 thank you very much looking forward to a great relationship
Me too!
Alot of goodies!
Super easy as well.
Probably use a screw gun to re coil the copper
Thank you for watching. That would definitely work must faster, I try to show ways to do things in case viewers don’t have power tools.
IF I WAS SMART,, I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT MY SCALE OUTSIDE! ITS RECHARGEABLE 😂
Rechargeable scale from solar power?
@@scrapitall200 no its electric !!
@@scrapitall200 i was commenting on my 500 mcm video. Not sure how this comment got here.
Ok I was a bit confused. Thanks for clearing that up.
