This is fantastic. We all need music like this right now and the blending is wonderful. It has a way of making you melo but also pumped up. Thank you so much
It sounds beautiful! Unless my eyes deceive me, I see two cornets, a flugel, a baritone, a tenor trombone, and a Bb tuba, all instruments that have a place in a “British” brass band. Blending them in an ensemble is tried and true. 👍 Sounds great! Excellent arrangement and very well played and produced.
Hellooooooo great video! I was wondering if a wider mouthpiece like a 3al would make a difference in playing low notes on euphonium or should you not bother
Yes, 3al will sound and feel much different than 4al. Much larger, rounder, darker sound. Definitely easier low notes. However, overall endurance will suffer as well as intonation will fluctuate much more if not accustomed. Also, thanks!
@@nyancs7098 Potentially, the problem is that it takes time to get used to new size. Different shape rim or cup not so much, but the size will need time to adjust. Doesn't hurt to try. 3.5 might be a good alternative :)
I’ve been wanting to see you play a Baritone for some time now! How different was it compared to the Euphonium? I’ve heard it’s easier to play but it doesn’t have as large of a range and it’s tone color isn’t as rich as the Euph.
Plays much easier, similar like trombone. However, harder to control, especially if you want to maintain some warmth to it. Higher register is a breeze :)
@@Matonizz Karl King who wrote Barnum and Bailey's favorite and several hundred other "screamers " used baritones instead of French horns because french horns were physically unable to play fast enough.

He gets credit for replacing French horns with baritones but was actually following the trend.
as the baritone can add to the French horn....it is not a french horn....i loved it as i am a baritone player but euphonium/baritone.....it's all the same....i know it isn't exact and i still don't know why people are so uptight about the subject....i can play the same music as a euphonium does......and usually i do

@@Matonizz ye I suppose if you’re playing something like bydlo then it would be good to use a 3al?

hey, are you still in river city brass, and will you be doing concerts with them like you used to for videos?
Yes, I am, in fact just had a rehearsal. Full band will be back November though :)

Maybe substitute the french horn"potentially" for the euphonium?
Depends what context :)
What mouthpiece do you use on Baritone?

Nice baritone playing. It fits quite well. One just needs to remember that a baritone is not an euphonium!
Thanks Paul, I think it subs French Horn quite well. And yes, will be sticking to roots mainly :D

@@markhorton3994 I love Karl King, Baritones always have fun parts in his pieces
