  • This video is going to speak about the power of friendship evangelism or what is friendship evangelism? Friendship evangelism is a simple and practical way to share your faith. It doesn't take much time and effort. And won’t require you to go outside your normal routine. You do not have to have any training or memorize evangelism formulas. And I will share with you two recent stores of me sharing my faith with others that I believe will encourage you to do the same. I will also show you some of the street evangelism I am doing in NYC. I recent poll showed that 90% of Christians will never lead anyone to faith (So that is 9 out of 10). Out of the 10% who do share their faith, 90% of them haven’t done it in the last five years. On top of this churches don't usually give teaching on evangelism which use to be common practice. My church does evangelism on the street in Times Square NYC on a weekly basis. We play worship music and preach the gospel. But we street evangelism tips from Scott McNamara from Jesus at the Door which makes evangelism simple. This is evangelism training that anyone can use. Go to jesusatthedoor.com for more information. We hosted two big rally's with Sean Feucht Let Us Worship in Times Square NYC and 5,000 attended the first rally. Street Evangelism isn't always the best method to use. Recently the lord led me to start Friendship evangelism to two people and i will share those stories with you. Friendship evangelism is simply to be kind and friendly to the people you come across in everyday life. They can be: neighbors, people at a grocery store or gas station, or when you go out to eat someplace. And you are just being friendly to people. Getting to know a little bit about peoples lives. After you develop a friendship with people you might be able to share your faith and tell them your testimony. Recently i had two huge open doors to share my faith with people and it revived my faith. This could also be an Evangelism sermon.

    I always find myself talking to strangers about Jesus. Most of the times it's waiting in a queue at the bank that i end chatting with someone. I used an Uber, and i spoke to the driver about God, and he was very grateful because he had a bad week. I grew up with street evangelism, and it was safe, and many got saved. Our church gave out tracks after church. We went around inviting people to church. Today, street evangelism is not allowed in some counties. One should take every opportunity to tell people about Jesus. My late dad loved friendship evangelism. I love it, too. God creates opportunities for us, that's for sure.

      You have a rich heritage in the lord. Now it makes sense why your such a quality person and Christian. If a small percentage of the church took your posture Christianity could take over. Blessings 🙌

    Great testimony. I have been involved with street preaching ministry for over 11 years now, and the best part for me is when i get into one on one conversations. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17.

    I live in a v friendly UK city so it's easy to sit at a bus stop or in a cafe, listening to someone talking about their problems, & pray for them in your heart. It's easy to share your faith; keep it simple, share your life experiences as appropriate. People appreciate honesty. I try not to sell a church, as it can make people feel under pressure & put them off. Point them to Jesus. Give them a Gospel booklet, or one on how to become a Christian. I give people cards with bible verses on, or really nice tracts, with a clear gospel message, good graphics etc. Cost a little more, but worth it. And I do this even though I'm not in a church at the moment. Makes no difference. Tracts through neighbors' doors. Support an outreach team. Try not to see this as a burden - it should be natural, like any relaxed conversation, & let the Lord do the rest 😊

    AND GREAT, SIMPLE TIPS AND EXAMPLES, THAT ARE, NOT TO "ADD" TO A "FULL LIST" OF ACTIVITIES, BUT ARE TO BR "INCORPORATED" INTO OUR EVERYDAY LIVES.
    THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE JESUS MEANT TO SHOW HIS DISCIPLES (INCLUDING US) WHEN HE SAID, " COME AND FOLLOW ME":
    SEE HOW I LIVE, LOVE, CONFRONT, CHALLENGE AND SHARE THE TRUTH OF WHO I AM IN THE EVERYDAY SPACES OF LIFE.
    MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR CHRIST - COMMUNITIES AS YOU CONTINUE TO LIVE AND WORK FOR HIM! ❤

    Hello Brother Josh,
    I'm so concerned.
    What if a brother plagerizes others? 😔 I'm grieved. Do you have insight and wisdom in this? Is this very serious?
    Thanks friend.

    • @TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone
      @TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone  4 месяца назад

      I think I know the case your referring too. I think people that do not have an academic background are not even aware they are plagiarizing others. Possibly doing so unaware of the seriousness of the situation. Bible college does not really count as a highly academic environment. But once a person has been made aware they have been caught plagiarizing someone they should admit it and make sure to cite resources in the future. They case you are referring to it seems that this "prophet" did at least plagiarize to some degree

      Do you have any inside knowledge of the fruit and character of that prophet? I don't want gossip or slander of course. I just want to find the truth. It's so hard to judge by the fruit in this internet age.

      @TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone  4 месяца назад

      @JoyfullyFollowJesus I'm really sitting with the lord to discern the situation. I have some concerns for sure. I will say this. I would reject a large majority of people in the charismatic and prophetic communities. Maybe even as high as 90% of them will not be part of the next move of God. We need major, major, major, major Reformation in the charismatic Church right now

    • @TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone
      @TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone  4 месяца назад

      @JoyfullyFollowJesus I only follow leaders at this point that are both word and spirit. Highly academic with great bible teaching who can move in the power of God. The prophet we are talking about may have half of one of those categories

    Hello brother, I wanted to warn you, please dont just accept what Josiah says about Brother Sweet.
    There are MANY wolves out there but that pastor is NOT one. I know him and his wife personally. Much of what Josiah said is absolutely contradicted in my personal experience.
    Please dont believe a charge against an elder when there is no eyewitness testimony. Much of what Josiah is saying is repeating things he heard from someone else or assumed. So it's not eyewitness. Also, some of what he said IS his eye witness testimony BUT he is just one eyewitness. And if we heard the other side of the story, I believe we would see some serious inconsistencies in much of it.
    What I have seen after over two years being at this church:
    Melinda and Joe LOVE eachother. Of course they have issues like most marriages but Joe Sweet admits it and jokes that Melinda will get rewards in heaven for being married to him haha. But he will start to tear up when talking about Melinda's kind heart to help people. They love eachother. And Melinda absolutely sings on the praise team and helps lead prayer sometimes and leads womens studies and more. She is not "fighting for the mic" that I have seen. Literally just on Friday she was helping to lead corporate prayer. So Josiah is painting a very different picture than I have seen.
    Also, as far as Brother Sweet goes, yes he is still growing. But he LOVES Jesus and people. He truly cares and prays for people fervently and sometimes with tears. He has godly character and extremely good fruit. Does he sometimes get impatient in the past? Yes. He admits that. He is growing. Just like we all are.
    I rememebr seeing him grieved because he had been impatient with someone and he felt so bad about it and wanted to apologize to them. He is growing in the fruits of the spirit to become more and more like Jesus. And it's beautiful.
    He preaches and lives in holiness. From what I have seen he is faithful to his wife and is not greedy with money. He had no accusations of sxual misconduct that I have ever seen. And he lives in a pretty normal house and drives a camry and his wife drives a Toyota RAV4. They give money away and try to help people. It's beautiful. They both have a lot of genuine love.
    If you came to Shekinah and get to know him, I believe you would agree with me. All you need to do is ask God to show you and then listen to one sermon of his and you will feel the inner witness of the Holy Spirit.
    There are many wolves out there. But Brother Sweet is not one.
    In regards to that video of the people trying to get Josiah out of the church, it's unfortunate how extreme it got. But that was zealous people who are still growing in their walk with God too.
    It's difficult to know what to do in a situation where someone is distrurbing the service. I would love if the wider church body could learn to handle disagreements differently. I don't know the right way to do that. But please don't assume that means Shekinah is bad. There are definitely people that are more immature in their walk with Jesus here and there are people who are more mature. I think you will find that in most churches.
    But regardless, please be so careful brother to be careful in these last days.
    There are wolves, but Brother Sweet is not one. You can see that for yourself just by asking Jesus.
    May God bless you!

    • @JoyfullyFollowJesus
      @JoyfullyFollowJesus 4 месяца назад +1

      @@TornCurtainIJoshuaSimone
      Well I don't know if someone's sin got covered up in the past. But I assume Josiah probably didn't know the whole story and probably didn't talk to actual eyewitnesses. It's very possible Bro Sweet did go to the police or did warn people or something. We just don't know the whole story. Josiah was there for just a short time I believe. I've seen how bitterness and unforgiveness or jealousy can severely distort truth. I'm not saying Josiah had that in his heart. I don't know him. But I just know that sometimes people take a few things and paint a very different picture than the reality.
      Also, is possible they were having issues in their marriage at that time? I don't know, I wasn't there then. But man, many people have struggled in their marriages. We need to bless and support and pray for them. Not publicly rip them. I think Josiah might have made a lot of assumptions that would be vehemently denied if you talked to Melinda or Brother Sweet or the other people who know them closely at that time. If we looked at Josaiah's marriage, we might find different struggles he's experienced too.
      The other accusation of him accusing Brother Sweet of being the main leader of Shekinah is pretty true from what I can see. Shekinah is a small church. Leading it not a sinful thing or something to attack him over. There are other small group leaders, a youth leader, a women's group leader, young adult group leaders. Ect. It's pretty normal stuff. He does like to do some things primarily himself in a lot of ways. And he is really wary of people coming in and trying to take charge. That's understandable. Lots of visitors come that have their own ideas. Can he grow in these areas? Yes. We all have things we can grow in.
      As far as the accusation of manipulation and pride? I don't know if that happend but those are pretty subjective judgments that we all have been guilty of at one time or another. I hope people have grace with me for the time I may have tried to get my way or I was prideful.
      Don't get me wrong, if Brother Sweet actually did something like beat his wife or sxly abuse someone, I would NOT be defending him. But he isn't like that at all. He really genuinely loves God and has good fruit. You should come to Shekinah and meet him and his wife. They are a blessing.
