    Outstanding presentation. I believe Mobileye will be the clear winner in consumer AVs.

    You mentioned “efficiency” but did not mention the power consumption of the full L4 systems (either vision or radar/lidar). You said the EyeQ6 SoC will be less than 100w, but that is just that 1 chip right? What about all the radar and lidar power consumption? You also said you need 6 of the EyeQ5 chips for the Zeekr. How many wh/mi will this impact the range?

      He talked about it in an interview on TechTechPotato channel. He said the entire system (EyeQ Ultra + sensors) consumes less than 100 watt. At least it's how I understood the claim

    Anything about multiple cars intercommunication? I see you only focus on single cars. Maybe that is too far ahead. Anyway, very good and clear presentation.

    For a vehicle to be able to “Drive Itself” it needs to be able to drive on its own, but this presentation made it seem clear that you will need a constant “streaming” connection for REM maps. Without this connection, will the car be able to “Drive Itself”???? Will it be able to drive in an area that has changed from the cloud REM map?

      Can Tesla's FSD run without the latest software update?

    • @TheDiplomat27
      @TheDiplomat27 2 года назад +1

      No. The REM maps are downloaded to the cars. There is no streaming needed.

    All your L4 tests are in ICE cars? Why no EVS? What is the current power draw of your L4 system?

      @@TheLastMoccasin You've asked several questions, I wrote question that my answer is related to - it is "why no EVS?". The answer is because ICE cars totally dominate the market. Mobileye as any other company targets markets where it expects maximal revenue and profit - it doesn't mean that its system can't be deployed on EVS, but it makes sense to make tests and presentations based on vehicles from your target market.

Testing in an ICE vehicle can help hide huge power draw issues from dozens of sensors and a trunk full of computers... This can be an issue when it comes time to scale, hence my questions trying to understand their power draw to see how close they are to having a system that can actually scale.

    When will my mobileye car drive like a tesla? millions of chips that cant stop at stoplights is useless. Tesla is killing this field while my car cant even drive without waiting for someone to scan its roads first!

    • @jukkamchannel

      Zeekr 001 will have same features as Tesla. So it has 11 cameras around the car. It will have an OTA update after 2 month, then we might see videos of Zeekr driving as Tesla. Techically Mobileye is more advanced. Mobileye has more uses case of neural networks than Tesla. So Mobileye use NN in the car as Tesla (training in cloud) but Mobileye use NN also in REM-map

Mobileyes lab cars drive very well in controlled environments - and Teslas lab cars do too. The difference is I can get in my non-lab tesla right now and have it drive me wherever I want - mobileye has nothing remotely close, neither does cruise or anyone else. Teslas been doing OTA since 2013, Teslas dojo is the fastest training computer under dev, and teslas inferencing computer (hw3) is WAY smaller that two stacked laptops amd is running NOW, no waiting 4 years.

      @@rickkay9548 because Mobileye will only release their software to the public when they receive full regulatory certification. On the contrary, TESLA experiments on their own users by recklessly releasing unfinished software to the public. The winner to the autonomous driving technology will be the one that favors the governments the most, so it really doesn't matter how good TESLA FSD is/will get because their AI approach is difficult to predict and regulate. Companies like Mobileye and initiatives from China like the Apollo program by Baidu is what will be the norm so unless TESLA changes their strategy, they will be eternally excluded.

      He is talking about the Mobileye FSD that is not available on your car yet. When Mobileye releases their FSD it will be way better than Tesla. Mobileye has shown us demo drives of their FSD in different cities and it is fantastic.
