What an awesome build. I really do need to get a few of these kits. It has been so long since I have built one!!! Yep cats are the best wrenching buddies!!!! Our two cats do the same, it only sucks when they see a part that they want to play with and run off with it or dump the screws on the floor!!!!🤣🤣🤣
My big cat likes to sleep on that same table I build on. He knocks stuff over, throws screws around, while the little one grabs the antenna straws and goes bananas with it! Lol! Too funny! 😂
it is a great looking buggy and I am glad I am not the only one color coordinating motors and wiring! Yours does look a lot better with the RZ in there!
Enjoyed the build. I use to mud race a 4WD truck, I found that by running the front tires backwards helped with the steering. Just something you might want to try. Thanks keep the videos coming!!

Hi, you made the right choice by putting the 15 tooth pinion with that engine, previously with a 21 turn absima I had used a 17 tooth steel pinion but then I put the 15 aluminum pinion back, I think it's fine for these engines .

Yeah, man, great video again, I enjoyed this a lot! It's not a kit that I am interested in, but I did hear a lot of good about it... Great idea with the higher powered servo, it's a good tip to include in a build video. Yeah, the build process you asked about: I started doing something a bit different after I did the Kyosho Dirtmaster. So the last three kits, I have cut all plastic parts off the parts trees and put them in a bowl, and threw away all the extra plastic (it's a lot!)... The challenge is then to figure the shape of the pieces and compare to the manual and assemble it right, so far went alright that way... Apart from that, I'm really messy, I use up all the space on the living room table, ha ha! Have a good one there, buddy, I am looking forward to your Durga videos!

Nice with the RZ motor 😊 I usually open the box, use it to store the build and take one bag at a time; something I don't do, is building over the manual, too scared to smudge it 😅
Ah, very interesting... I make it mandatory to smudge every manual, lol! I even use the lids of the box to paint the body, so there's overspray in them. I have NO idea why, but I just do... Lol!

I like this bugg I want one of these and it's brother the Boomerang. I'm going to Japan in April for work and grabbing a BBX at the big Tamiya store I'm Tokyo as here I still can't get one.
Nice video. I was wondering why you didn’t use bearings the whole video until I got to the end. lol I would have waited to get them before the build or used them from another model at least for the gearbox lol
Yeah I hear ya pal! I was all set up to record, then realized... Wrong bearing kit!!! UGH!!! So I followed through with recording, and I'll drop the bearings in tomorrow (they just came in today!). Thanks for watching!
My comment keeps getting deleted. Minsu Cho on face book does them. Also custom wheels. I had some Bigwig ones with mooncraft lettering done. Very nice
nice looking buggy! was wondering what do you do with your extra parts that come in the kits? do you keep them organized (ex. 3x10mm vs 3x8mm) and keep them all together from all the builds or do you put them back in bags and put them in the original boxes? give the cat some treats for all the help and support! also, nice to hear your wife enjoys R/C's. now to find a girlfriend with the same interest.
Great question! If the parts are vehicle-specific, I'll keep them in the box and store the box away (I keep all my boxes in my crawl-space). As for the generic parts (screws, washers, etc...) I put them in my parts bin on the table. I have the drawers categorized (Tamiya, metric, imperial, etc...) so it's easy to find a screw when I need one. As for the cats, they love being on camera and helping their cat-dad with a good build project. They're so awesome! And my advice with the GF situation, you may be surprised how many of them actually enjoy RC. You just need to get that radio in their hands, and let them take the wheel. When I met my wife she would come down into my hobby room and be like "what the hell is all this???" -- I told her, this is me, this is WHAT I DO, and it's NOT going to change, lol! She heard the message loud and clear, and has been a supporter of my RC hobby since we met 8 years ago. :)
Such a great looking rear end on that buggy 🍑. My favorite variant of the Hotshot family, scream’s 80’s exotic sports car and everything that comes along with it 😂👍
Fil, I swear to Satan...you have the exact same setup as me. Only I have black mats instead of green. Bought the tables at Costco and put them in a L shape with my computer in the corner for manuals etc... Too kool brother. 👊🍺🍻The new logo is really good too.
Haha no way, that's too funny! Great minds... 🤣🤣🤣 I'm actually looking to get a darker color mat, too! The green gets so dirty so fast. I might have to copy your black mat idea! 🤔 👊🏼🍻
Yeah the black is great I highly recommend it, and since you lay your parts out on something bright like I do, you won't have to worry about seeing the parts. If you drop a tiny black screw on the black mat though... Well, hope you have good eyesight! btw, did you get the hamster I sent you? 🤣🤣🤣@@poorboysrc
@@roloreoandy9867 let's just say that if we drop a black screw, it's gone into the RC abyss forever. Lol! The Hamster arrived safe and sound. I'm currently fattening him up for an extreme adventure! 🤣🤣🤣
Great video by the way, :) This is my very first build, and RC car, but I couldn't help my self, but buy this Tamiya Super Sabre. The question I had was. What do I need for this build??? I have a controller, 2 battery sticks, and a fast charger, but is there anything else I need to make it a smooth, great build on my first attempt
Great pick for a first RC! 4WD buggies are so versatile, you'll love it! So you're going to need a good steering servo. I always recommend hitting up your local hobby shop first to see what they have in stock. You do not need to spend $100 on a servo, either. Brands like Injora, Power HD, etc. All make excellent waterproof (which is a must, IMO) servos in the $20 range. If your LHS doesn't have any, then Amazon is a good #2 choice. Your controller should come with a receiver, so you're good to go there. Did your Suoer Sabre kit come with a speed controller? Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. If not, I recommend the Hobbywing 1060 or 1080. 1060 is a bit cheaper, and has less functionality, but works really well. I use them in 80% of my RC's. Both are waterproof, too! From there you should really co soder ball bearings. Tamiya gives you plastic bushings in every kit, which wear out fast, and can wreak havoc on your drivetrain. "Fast Eddy" brand bearings are pretty much the best bang for your buck out there. If you can't find a set for the Super Sabre, remember, the Boomerang is the exact same car, and I'm sure Fast Eddy will have a set for the Boomer. And that's it! The body comes pre painted and trimmed, so no struggles there. Learn to drive it on the stock motor, and when you master that, look at maybe getting a Tamiya Super Stock BZ, or something similar for a little more speed. Have fun with the build! If you get stuck, just email me at poorboysrc78@gmail.com 👊🏼
Hi All. I just built one of these. Fun wow. But there is a bump in the front drive train which seems to be that the angle of the dog bone into its receiver is too great. It seems built to spec from box. If I raise axles it runs smooth. Anybody experience this?
This is a very common occurrence in many Tamiya kits. If the suspension is at full droop (say resting on a bench) the dogbones bind in the drive cups, causing an awful vibration. It will go away when the weight of the kit is placed on the ground. Don't worry, it's not just you, you didn't do anything wrong, haha. It's just part of "the Tamiya way." :)
@poorboysrc I have seen some that look like they have just had something shoved where it don't fit but I only do black spots so at worst they are cross eyed 🤣🤣
@@dannyseville2543 Hahaha, so many dodgy drivers out there, pal! Then there's these guys that shade the skin tones, have veins in the eyes, and make them look like a HD photo... Ah, I wish I had that talent and patience.

@@Soney_Manic where did you get them? I agree, they look ridiculously good on these buggies!
My comment keeps getting deleted. Minsu Cho on face book does them. Also custom wheels. I had some Bigwig ones with mooncraft lettering done. Very nice
How many cat hairs did you get in your stickers? 😂
I don't even count anymore. Lol! 🤣🤣🤣
nice looking buggy! was wondering what do you do with your extra parts that come in the kits? do you keep them organized (ex.
@@poorboysrc now..that's being what you call.."being awesome to each other." cheers bro.
@@garykee1 cheers pal! 🍻
Such a great looking rear end on that buggy 🍑. My favorite variant of the Hotshot family, scream’s 80’s exotic sports car and everything that comes along with it 😂👍
Absolutely!!! Couldn't agree more! 🍑🍑🍑🤩🤩🤩
@@poorboysrc 😂👍
Fil, I swear to Satan...you have the exact same setup as me. Only I have black mats instead of green. Bought the tables at Costco and put them in a L shape with my computer in the corner for manuals etc... Too kool brother. 👊🍺🍻The new logo is really good too.
Haha no way, that's too funny! Great minds... 🤣🤣🤣
I'm actually looking to get a darker color mat, too!
@@poorboysrc So... you're going to feed it to the cat then? 🤣🤣🤣
Great video by the way, :)
This is my very first build, and RC car, but I couldn't help my self, but buy this Tamiya Super Sabre.
@@poorboysrc I've read somewhere that I will need a ESC
@@markproctor6264 have you opened the box yet?
@@poorboysrc still waiting on delivery. Just wanted everything there, so can get a good start
@@poorboysrc and can I ask one more thing. Witch Injora Servo do I need to get. There is a few different ones, :(
Mild to moderate crystal meth addiction..... 😂😂😂😂
Hahaha, honestly, they look so bad! 😳😳😳😳
Another great build
Great motor choice
But i'm concerned you put the cheese pinion on your fab motor. I hope you switch it to a hard one
Yeah you know what? I never think to get a steel pinion until it's too late... These alum/cheese ones just aren't up to the task, are they?
@@poorboysrc No those alu/cheese pinion will disintegrate with such a hot motor as early as after 1-2 run. For a silver can they last longer since it not got the power as your RZ
@@aviano72 Where do you get your .06 mod pinions from? I have a hard time finding them?
@@poorboysrc Whenever i order hop ups and other things i usually use RC Mart, they have all you need. And it takes 5 days before i get my order. (i'm in Norway)
RW Racing makes great ones but i can't order them after brexit :(
@@aviano72 ah, nice! I've used Rc Mart in the past, but their shipping to Canada these days is INSANE! I haven't bought from them for a few years now because of this. I'm not sure why it's so high, I can buy from other shops in China and Japan with no issue...
Is your cat trying to get some subscribers. 😮
She loves watching cat videos, so she figured she'd get some of her cat video followers to come watch me put decals on an RC buggy. 🤣🤣🤣
