there was also the Hashina from last week and biden's decision to step down from re-election last month.

It's quite refreshing actually. Better than waiting 4 years bs for another election before you can get him voted out. It should happen everywhere as that will stop them making false claims and acting unscrupulous and knowing that nothing can be done before 4 years.

This is a " long time plan " . First eliminated Thailand’s Move Forward Party political leader, put a puppet PM on the job, the returned of Thaksin , got royal pardon to be a free man, puppet PM fulfilled his duty time to step aside, Pheu Thai Party’s Paetongtarn Shinawatra will sure take over as PM, once again Shinawatra family in power. On the other hand the rise of The People's Party is the successor party of the former Move Forward Party following its dissolution by the Constitutional Court of Thailand on 7 August. They have announced 2027 Thailand elections make a come back.

In Thailand at least there is a check by an INDEPENDENT constitutional court to counter the abuse of power by the ruling party. In Singapore, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, EFFECTIVELY including the elected President, the courts of law, the CPIB who reports to the PM, the organs of the state, etc. are UNDER THE POLITICAL AMBIT OF THE RULING PARTY.
