    Great to see that all this "clean ganga" etc is not all air but actual projects being executed on the ground to stop sewage being discharged in to the river, people and businesses should also be responsible to not pollute the rivers. Hope our rivers are all cleaned up like this it will not only conserve our rivers but also protect the endangered aquatic life.

      This is actually for Yamuna river. For Ganga river lot of the sewage disposal has already been plugged and polluting industries moved to different place in first term of Modi government.

      Why only Ganga though?
      STPs are necessary for every river. Though, there are STPs in nearly all rivers and Ganga is major river...
      The point is, Instead of making a river 99% clean, at least make all rivers 90% clean.

    Many such STPs are being laid from Uttarakhand to West Bengal under National mission for clean Ganga programme.

    25% from state government is taken so that the state government does not create much trouble for the project. For bullet train, maha govt has only 5% funding which is low and that is why it is doing too much of drama

    Indore built STPs & rejuvenated Kanha & Saraswati Nallah to Rivers again.
    Cleared it's dumping ground & made city forest in that 100 acres.

      NMCG And Namame Ganga Mission is working on Ground for this. Delhi alone have 12 projects under this Central Givt Mission, Incl Cities of Meerut, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Patna, Munger, etc. Varanasi Alone have 3 New STPs and New one son the way.

      We have such a large economy, we can build a thousand of them in a span of 5 to 7 years, that will cost us 60 billion US dollar and it will revolutionize the sewage system in India

      Indore & Many cities already did it.
      But these tier 2-3 cities are not capital, so it doesn't make everyday headline.
      but since kejruddin sitting on money & not giving it to municipal corporation,
      These projects were hanging.

    This plant is jointly constructed by L&T and Passavant Energy & Environment in JV. Refer the picture of the main gate....

    Delhi need atleast 20 such plants ..and Noida ghaziabad gurgaon also need 3 each because pollution level is increasing in even ground water forget about surface water

    Union govt should scrap smart city project & invest that money on similar kind of sewage treatment plants on every major cities. Robust basic infrastructure is much more important than temporary beautification works implemented under smart city project.

    I always wonder , Delhi is the Capital of India!!!
    & It still doesn't have proper 100% cleanliness & sanitation facilities.
    I should have these basic facilities since 30-40 years ago.
    Achievement & Development either Climbed the Garbage Mountain or drain in Yamuna with sewage.
    Present government giving emphasis on cleanliness is great for People's health, Overall hygiene, tourism & international image.
    Indore has done quite well in nearly all (like 95-96%) areas on this matter.

      Bcoz it is not a planned city...the way it was designed it was not fir 2cr PPL...it keeps on spreading on itw own...that's why many areas left unplanned .. which now creating all sort of issues... especially sewage issue

    I think Indias biggest STP is bharwara STP in Lucknow....... capacity upto 345 MLD and commissioned in the year 2008, operating on UASB technology and not this one....
