Agreed. This is already being done at various levels. Just that in the densely populated cities, and slums it is difficult to control the entry of industrial effluent from SSIs.
Apart from that, sewage os treated in a sewage treatment plant seperately.

Industries should be told to install water treatment systems before releasing it. Compulsory Law.
New colonies and builders should be told to install such systems as rule of Law.

One of the best thing we can do is rain water harvesting I am from Rajasthan & we are using rainwater for drinking since ages we still use rainwater one season rainwater can last Upto a year for a family of five person Delhi government & government around India should make it mandatory for everyone to use rainwater harvesting

      How it stored

    • @Nomad_Wanderer
      @Nomad_Wanderer 5 лет назад +4

We make a underground water storage tank and use the rainwater from our building roof there are usually two drain holes in the roof one for drainage second one for the water storage tank, we clean the roof before taking in water to the storage. 3-4 good annual rain for about an hour or so is enough to fill the tank. After the water gets collected in the tank we don't use the water for few days so the sediment settles down after that we put alum tied in cloth into the water this alum purify the water thou one can use it or not we can also use a normal filter to further clean the water the taste of rainwater is unlike anything you have ever drank it keeps your gut healthy

Honestly, treating sewage water for Delhi should have been implemented around 50 years ago. Really. Like it is implemented for many other metropolises in the world. Are people in India any worse then the others? Ok, nobody can travel back in time to fix some issues, but now it is really time to catch up. People in Delhi and around India should really demand it every single day and do any action possible to push the authorities to implement treating sewage water system. It is really important.

Start harvesting water when it rains instead of letting it flow into the oceans there are ancient temples who did this sort of work many many years ago. I think this channel highlighted a village where someone dug trenches to store the rain water and the whole village benefited from it.

@chakraborty001 Assam have all amenities required to live a civilized life. When you haven't seen nature,u can't value nature.Delhi being a capital, it's all unplanned urbanisation, comparing to capital city of other countries.Assam atleast being away from the city, people breath pure air ,eat organic vegetables and drink water which just need filtration, not treated water from sewage 😂 or water from Yamuna.Morever there's no unplanned development in Assam just to extract the leftover petroleum resources from assam.Assam produces tea and send its oil&gas to other parts of the country but Assam doesn't want unwanted unplanned urbanisation and slums just like in so call developed cities of India 😂Cut trees, urbanize city, have open defaces in the streets and complain no water.

Much of the waste water can be treated by bio-methods to make it atleast useful for gardening, using it in toilets for flushing. That will stop pollution of rivers.
The used water from kitchen can easily be used for garden / toilet flush with not so huge costs. A lot of small things can be done to make a huge impact and clear the pollution.
People should not have to spend a lot of time for the basic needs. Rather than comparing with so called " First world countries " etc. where is the basic ?

Why isnt anaerobic STP provided in every community garden in Delhi. This decentralisation of sewage water can be used to water the parks and at the same time decrease sewage going to the main STP plants . This can also be used to increase the water table of Delhi which is going down regularly. A multi pronged approach needs to be utilised since the task at hand is enormous. Decentralisation is the best way out.

That's a shame.. it's the rich that can afford to drink their own treated water.
The poor have to drink untreated - own sewerage.
The government can do it - put in proper sewerage system, separate clean water like other countries but alas they don't. That's a big shame.

Perhaps the H20 company may have more success convincing people that their recycled H20 is absolutely fine to drink if they explained that most major cities in the world do just this; treat grey H20 & recycle it back into the H20 supply system otherwise they would run out of H20. The running joke about London's H20 is that it's been through 7 sets of kidneys.

I mean the a drop of water has probably passed through a dinosaur then it may as well have been through kidneys.

@@aditisk99 Exactly! Same goes for human waste. If anyone has ever eaten food grown in nearby fields of the (older) larger towns & cities of the world, then they've eaten food fertilised by human poo and wee. Humans have been doing this for literally thousands of years. There's a good reason for the old English saying: 'where there's muck, there's brass'. It comes from a time before London had sewers and the 'nightsoil men' were paid by the authorities to remove waste from the city & then paid 'again' by farmers to have it delivered to their farms. Some of the poshest addresses in London have extremely good garden soils because in earlier times, nightsoil men were the residents & would bring home waste to dig into their gardens to help grow food to feed their families. We know who was resident & their occupations from old census records.

Imagine that. Just 22 drains carrying 220 million gallons on untreated sewage into the Yamuna every day! The problem is so contained, it can be fixed.

Harsh reality about our country people are more concerned about making a temple /a masjid(whatever) when these people don't realise what next 15 years hold for us ,by saving water we can save wars in the future and yes these won't be intercaste but between every person
