Also, before you say "I'll never have a fursuit," I'd like to share my story.
I made my first fursuit way back in 2008, when I was 17. It was a partial and a slightly cursed trainwreck but I loved him dearly until he fell apart and I learned a lot from the whole process.
Fast forward 10 years, I put myself in considerable debt by earning a BFA with a focus in sculpture and a minor in design and tech theater. By 2021, I'd also earned a master's degree in childhood education.
In 2022, I got hired as an art teacher and was able to stabilize my income and bills within 18 months.
I just turned 33 and bought almost all the supplies needed to build my first full fursuit.
RUclips has been my go-to resource in learning how to navigate costume construction since 2014.
If I could do it for under $50 and without good youtube tutorials way back in 2008, I believe y'all can do whatever you set your mind to.

honestly the girl being taped is really brave for participating in this video and letting the whole world see her exact body shape, this whole process seems really personal. I have the same bodytype as her and I think I'd be too insecure if someone asked me to be in a video like this, people can be awful.
All body types are beautiful in their own way
I think ppl with a bit of chub look like hugable marshmallows which as someone who likes hugs thinks is a nice feature to have
Me personally I've lived my life being a bit underweight (totally healthy but as a kid you could see my ribs. How that works idk). wasn't until recently that my weight finally averaged out but still pretty 'boney' (fun fact: I weighed 80lbs in middle school and had a friend who called me boney shoulder XD)

Yeah I’m built like a stick and I’d be really nervous to look at myself, especially if it was a commission.. I wouldn’t wanna feel like I look malnourished or something.😰

I can imagine how cutting the dtd feels, because i broke my arm once and when i had my cast removed, it felt like i was being cut but it didn't hurt at all.

Yo that feels SO weird. Especially having been stiff for so long and then you feel the vibrating throughout the cast it's so freaky
I remember it being a huge relief and disappointment all at once
No more sweating or itchiness or worrying about it getting wet
But you arm literally cannot move except like half a centimeter
When I was younger I wanted to make a fursuit but there weren’t that many youtube videos available
So me and my sister fallowed a low quality video and made it wrong but also she ended up cutting my shirt during the cutting process

Good video, may I suggest to eventually invest in a pair of scissors that emts/medics use? They aren't expensive and have rounded tips and are designed for cutting clothing etc off of patients
Oh yeah they're called trauma shears! My art teacher has some and they work like a charm

For cutting, I recommend medical safety scissors/trauma shears. they're made to cut flush with a body to remove clothes, rope, tape exc without the risk of cutting into the person.

Yay, thanks! I’ll make my own DTD in a few days so this video was right on time. Since I almost finished my education I’ll have some more free time and I’ll make my first ever fullsuit - I hope it’ll look good ~
I've done this twice now, still waiting for something to show for the effort. The second time was much worse. I wound up overheating and my legs started giving out. Both were double layered.
If you have bandage scissors, it makes cutting the DTD off much easier.

As a fursuit maker I think I’d rather just do them built from leggings and under armor 😂
(Edit: I only make suits for myself, but if I ever did commissions I probably wouldn’t make fullbodies.)
A painter suit costs like 6$, an UA long-sleeved shirt and leggings cost as least 24$ (12$ each), that's a BIG difference for something you're just gonna cut up.

Highly recommend using plastic wrap over paper towels. The paper towel backing falls apart over time.

We need a vid on how to make a suit for quad suits. My friend just helped me make a duck tape dummy for my quad suit. I'm sure we messed something up, but here's hoping I'm wrong.
About a year ago I tried to make a Mannequin like this, but I took some gray tape, wrapped it around myself without cutting the pieces at all, and then I got stuck in all the tape and I still have scars from the scissors.

Use cast sissors they have a rounded end. Less risk of cuts. In case you didn't know. Less stress of cutting someone.

I just saw your video and I have a question:
If I just need the legs for the digigrade pattern, could I do that part of the DTD by myself?
(I have no problems touching my lower back or touching the floor with my hands without bending my knees)
I want to sew/built my own fursuit in the near future (as soon as I got enough money for the fur xD) and I don't know any people around were I live. All my friends live 2h+ away from me and are very busy with life atm (Like exams, praktikas, and science papers for their studies, as well as planning a family, moving or just being busy with work and stuff)
