- Im very sorry I didn't record anything else for this paper suit tut because honestly got lazy and discouraged by people using this tutorial in a way that I didn't intend.
I would like to clarify that this tutorial is ment for INSPIRATION ONLY. That does not mean copy every single thing I do here. I made this tutorial so people could learn how i make these, and then make their own creations.
This tutorial is meant to be used as a guide, not a copy every single thing I do tutorial.
I would appreciate it if you could try your best to be creative and do this in your own way, experiment with different shapes, techniques, and materials!
‼️WARNING‼️: Never get your paper fursuit wet! Make sure to keep anything wet away from your head. Please try to fully line the inside of your head with tape or another waterproof material, to prevent moisture from your breath/ sweat damaging your fursuit!
Cleaning instructions: If your paper head is fully lined in tape, you can wipe parts of it down with a disinfecting wipe. Make sure to not disinfect any parts that aren’t waterproof.

Paper suits are one of the best way to make a suit if you dont have the money, or you are just young and wanna make a suit! This is such a good tutorial!
honestly i think this is a great way to get introduced into fursuiting. starting with a giant foam head can be a lot to handle and its super expensive. i glad to see people are finding cheaper ways!

Oh my GOODNESS. I am a fursuit maker and I am SHOCKED at how amazing this is!!! I never even thought about making a fursuit out of paper. It makes me so happy to see such creative minds in the fandom, being able to think outside the box in such a way!! This looks just as good as a head made with foam (and WAYYYYYYYY better than my earlier works)!!! Seriously amazing and so creative, and because you practicing a lot now, if you do ever decide to make a fursuit head using foam and fur, you'll be a natural! Literally so cool!!!!

If anyone is planning on making a foam fursuit head for the first time I recommend starting off with papersuits as practice :)!

Me too! What I always did, since I used to make paper stuff kinda similar to this, was find old blankets, sheets, or clothes nobody cared about that I was ok with the feeling of, and lining it with that. (Later I just started buying the fabric at Walmart lol) if you want to you can always try that :)

If you could do a tutorial for cat heads, weasel or stoat and opossums, that would be awesome!!
I think you can still use the same method for those, just change the snout and some other stuff to match the animal more. You can use references from Google to help get it to look right 😅

I'm not exactly part of the furry community (its hard to ignore at this point as there's so much good art inspo on pinterest 😭), but this could really help a lot of people get the hang of things with paper!! I've been making things out of paper recently and when I saw this I was going insane. Like, omg the look on this thing?? Oml??
OH MY GOD NEW IDEA
This is before you add coloured paper, but after you've added all the duct tape
1. Cover it in glue (hopefully one that doesn't reactivate under water, this will make the head, stronger, more solid, and more waterproof)
2. Add your fluffy dangly bits and cover in duct tale and glue too (YOU GOTTA DO THIS BEFORE STEP 3)
3. Use paint over the glue for where you want which colours (Acrylic is very good for strong colours very quickly, but can crack. Fabric/ puffy paint is flexible and tough, but needs multiple coats and is quite expensive in bulk)
4. USE AN EPILEPTIC SEIZURE'S WORTH OF WASHII TAPE
(Add glue on top as a sealant on top of all that if you're real anxious about the tape falling off or the paint dulling. Also don't use a cloudy glue or something, use a liquid one that dries clear, use thinner layers to avoid creating or making more bubbles)
Does this work? Probably not. Is it a dumb idea? Absolutely. Would one care about the laws of physics once washii tape has been mentioned? HAH, NO.
this is so awesome for younger or inexperienced fursuiters who don’t have the money or materials to make one out of foam and faux fur!! as one myself I will definitely be using this tutorial (with a few definite style tweaks) to make one of my own!! thank you so much for posting this tutorial

This is so helpful! It's a cheap alternative and looks as good as the real deal, might use cardboard for mine to make sure nothing is flattened when I do taping

You can line it with cut up plastic bags and tape them to the inside if you have nothing else:3

1) Give it a go, even if you fail, learn from your mistakes.
2) Everything will be hard on the first go, keep trying and let no one tell you that it's "terrible" otherwise!
3) You can order tape online or buy them in the store for very cheap. I'm sure you can use your pocket money or ask your parents in return for not asking anything from them for a long time.

You don’t need a suit to go to a con! Also, I wouldn’t advise taking a paper or cardboard suit to a con. Since you’ll be sweaty, in the suit for awhile and it’s gonna get moisture in it, and promote black mold growth, which can kill you if you breathe it in

TYSM! i made a paper partial a year or so ago and it sucked (it was my first). And so I started remaking her and I messed up like 3 times and wasted 2 and a half rolls of tape. This helped so much! TY
i know you might not see me elliot, but heres a tip when you are making paper suits:
I reccomend putting padding on the inside of the mask cause sometimes the paper is uncomfy amd sometimes aswell as papercuts and the texture of paper sometimes makes me cringe really hard, i hope ur reading this elliott!

I was inspired by your videos to become a furry myself, and I am forever grateful for that! Your paper fursuits are an incredibly creative and cheap alternative to standard fursuits, which I am also grateful for as my broke ass could never afford to buy one and I despise using sewing machines. However, my fursona is a moth, which is by no means a common furry type, so I was looking for some advice on how to alter this design to better suit a moth furry!
I'm only really concerned about how to make the head a bit more rounder than what it is right now, as the tutorial is meant for canine fursuits, so if anyone has ideas on how to make this work, please share them with me! Have a great day!
I suggest maybe adding more of the "cheek shapes" as shown in the video around the head to get your desired shape, and definetly layer and smootb out the tape

Cant wait to make a suit head just got to figure out if i want to make one of an exsisting fursona or make a new one lol. Keep up the amazing work my guy!
I think I may use you're tutorial as a guide for framework but then finish it off paper mache style. Idk though, I like how the cardstock looks and paper mache would be bulky but also would be sturdier. I guess I'll see when I get there lol
Be careful because the paper can collect sweat and it grows black mold and black mold can cause problems

I’m doing it rn!! But my parents keep acting suspicious bc I told them I’m making a craft and I keep asking for duct tape and construction paper lol, they keep asking what I’m making and I rlly don’t want them to find out bc they don’t like furries :,) I feel like they are either able to see my phone or have a camera in my room.

IDEA:
Make paper paws for a paper fursuit partial
You could trace out your hand (all 5 fingers spread out for 5 finger paw, two fingers together for 4 finger paw and so on). Around it draw the paw you want and cut out. Two pieces of paper for one paw then tape together. For the paw beans, cut out a circle bigger than you want and glue it ~90%. Stuff in paper scraps (or cotton if you want to be fancy) and glue down the rest.
!!*I haven't tried this, it's just an idea, but I'll try soon and update on how it goes*!!

if your gonna make a feline make the ears differnt (you could prob figure out) and for the muzzle make two circles, have a strip of paper that you turn into like a split sorta, then tape the circles on the strip and add the stripe+circle combo to the mask, add cuts to make the muzzle whole and use stripes from points to the main mask to smooth it out. (srry if this is poorly explained :,) )
