Mom has this car and her rear pads hit metal to metal today. Quick trip to the corner auto store and she's back on the road, safely. Thanks, especially for including torque specs!
Are there different type calipers? I have a 2019 Rogue SV awd and the caliper has a solid caliper with 3 cut outs. Do you know if there is a special tool to turn closed or do you press it closed?
Thank you guys for the outstanding short and precise instructional video on how to do it. I kinda have a question for you: Do you think if I use a sand gun instead of metallic brush - will be better of rust and dirt removal and it will not damage anything else?
I replaced the pads and rotors but now I am hearing a clicking noise coming from the rear when I drive the car. Do you have any suggestions for what I should check for?
I’m having difficulty removing the rear caliper mounting bolts so that I can take the rotor off.. and tips or tricks? I have a 20v impact driver and it’s still not budging.. I need help please.🙏🏼
Awesome videos. They are very helpful and great because you include the torque specs and proper cleaning and lube application. One thing though, by all means, please don't use red thread locker on bolts because it is permanent and requires heat to remove it. Blue threadlocker is what should be used on anything that would require subsequent maintenance but would still require a firm hold.
I had the rear pads changed recently by an auto parts and I noticed today that the Murano Advance Driver display is no longer showing the warning/notice in the display that the foot break is still on when the car is put on drive “D”. Anyone knows what might be wrong?
Unfortunately, this will not work for 2017+ with EPB (electric parking brake) systems. You will either need a scan tool or electric motor removal and wind the mechanism back manually.
Great quality video. I have one confusion. In the front mounting bolt torque you said was 122ft/lb but in the rear you mentioned only 62ft/lb. Is it correct or any mistake from your side? Thanks
My 2020 Nissan Rogue requires a bi directional scanner tool to put the car in service mode before you can perform this repair, so the job is basically no longer something the average diy'er can do on their own unless you want to invest several hundred dollars in a scanner tool that can perform the function. The caliper is also a bit different.
Anybody else try to remove the 14mm bolt from the top caliper instead of just sliding it out. It's virtually stuck on there in almost all the cars and the brake line is right in the way. Tried to remove the bolt before watching this video. You will strip it if you try. Tell me how I know. The factory must've used red thread locker on it.
I would suggest not using Red Threadlocker on mounting bolts. It is permanent and would require high heat to remove. Just reinstall bolts and torque to factory specifications.
It would be nice if there was a list of tools and supplies needed for this job. Just showing how to do it without describing the tools and products that you're using is not very helpful for someone who has never changed brakes before.
They make a clap to push in that piston evenly and without prying. He also cleaned the router and then put it on w greasy gloves.... So don't do that. I would also recommend being cautious with cleaning. Removing a lot of material isn't a good idea.
Why is it that no one ever in these help videos ever states the manufacturers torque specs? I mean dude, you already mounting the caliper bolts for the Nissan Rogue (which ever year that is) so just mention the torque specs please!!!!! How difficult can that be.
Okay, I usually love your guys video, but there's a major flaw in this one. Never use caliper grease for the slide pins. It will swell the rubber piece and prevent the calipers from sliding. Common issue if you Google it. Use silicone grease.
On mine and a lot of others Nissan has a brake line blocking the bolt. It is also something that happened with a lot of Mitsubishi vehicles I hear. Why they did that I don't know! There is no excuse for that! They must have done it hoping a lot of people would trade the pile of junk in when the brake pads wear out. Mine is a 2017 Rogue Sport SV and it is like that. I could have done my own brakes if they didn't do this! Considering the prices some shops charge for such a seemingly basic service. If I am not mistaken a mechanic wanted to charge $600 to do them. I don't have that estimate anymore but cheaper still was a mechanic in Pittsburgh by a couple hundred dollars. Of course I have not been back at that mechanic with the high estimate since. I moved and where I am now there are cheaper or closer ones nearby. Maybe these ones don't charge absurd prices! For Christ's sake I could do it myself fairly easily if that stupid hose wasn't in the way!!

O
Would have been nice to show how to adjust parking brake. I always have to figure out which way to loosen the shoes.
Oops hadn't watched far enough
The caliper slide pins are 14mm, the caliper bracket bolts are 17mm.

Great job You might be the best person that explained a break job that I've ever heard....
You make it very easy to understand. I love that you give the torque specks. You don't skip any steps and are very thorough.
I really wish u showed how to replace the emergency break shoes !!!!
This guy does a great job of demonstrating!!
Man what a great video only thing it’s missing is doing the emergency brake
give more details... like at 1:20 what size is the socket?
7:00 the only place you put grease is on the slide bolts. That’s why they have a rubber boot to keep the grease in and the dust out.
Torque specs rear brakes & rotors
62 ft/lbs caliper bolts.
32 ft/lbs slider bolts
Are there different type calipers? I have a 2019 Rogue SV awd and the caliper has a solid caliper with 3 cut outs. Do you know if there is a special tool to turn closed or do you press it closed?
RED threadlocker?! Don't you ever want to be able to remove that bolt again?
Thank you guys for the outstanding short and precise instructional video on how to do it. I kinda have a question for you:
Do you think if I use a sand gun instead of metallic brush - will be better of rust and dirt removal and it will not damage anything else?

That's a top notch brake job good job young man!
I’m having difficulty removing the rear caliper mounting bolts so that I can take the rotor off.. and tips or tricks? I have a 20v impact driver and it’s still not budging.. I need help please.🙏🏼
What happens if the pin is not sliding out after unscrewing 14mm bolt??😩

I have a 2020 Rogue sport. Do I need to disable the electric parking brake first?
Is torque the also 83 ft/lb for lug nuts on the cast aluminum wheels on the SV AWD?
Yo compre los rotors y pads pero no quedan quedan muy grande no cierra y nunca contestan
I was hoping you were gonna tell me the sizes of the fasteners. Nice quality vod still
What if my wear indicator is facing down
I tried the adjustment but rotors still won’t come and E brake is off2:50
Do you have a video for how to change the rotor brakes and springs on a 2018 nissan rogue s all-wheel drive
+DM Km The install should be the same or similar. Buy this part on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
What if the adjuster screw is not lined up with the hole of the rotor and unable to adjust the shoes????
So there is no need to use the brake caliper compressor tool?
+Charles Calhoun The compressor tool is not necessary for this repair.

I need a video with the electric parking brake
What kind of grease do you use for sliding pins ? ?
Thanks for the video.. like the torque specs included and the socket, wrench sizes…
how much this work cost at your service? just labor
Great quality video. I have one confusion. In the front mounting bolt torque you said was 122ft/lb but in the rear you mentioned only 62ft/lb. Is it correct or any mistake from your side? Thanks
As per Nissan's repair manual it's right the rear torque is 62ft/lb.
I installed slotted rotors on my car and they make this loud clicking noise while driving. Is this normal?!
Before you break the back bolt or pins, make sure to release your rear emergency break. I broke the caliper bolt pin thing, lol 😢😮😂😅🎉❤😊😅

The caliper is also a bit different.
Great video! You make it seem so easy! I love the enthusiasm!
So why did you use a pry tool to remove the wheel trim its not loctite on 🙄
What was the spray you use to clean the brakes?
Brake Cleaner found at any auto parts store or even big box stores
Fantastic video!
Fake video, 2019 Rogue has electric emergency brakes on the back.
Fantastic. Thank you for concise and detailed instruction.

Incredible...thank you for your guidance
I was told something about a shims???
Thanks for the knowledge

That rotor looked fine, why change it
Would it have killed you to mention the size of the sockets you were grabbing?
no sh*t. thats the whole reason were watching lol
Mine were 14mm
62 ft pounds? Are you sure? Someone else said 32 in some other video
Why is it that no one ever in these help videos ever states the manufacturers torque specs? I mean dude, you already mounting the caliper bolts for the Nissan Rogue (which ever year that is) so just mention the torque specs please!!!!! How difficult can that be.
Red thread lock no no no red is permanent

U definitely aren't a flat rate technician
