  • First started in 1890 as a small-scale production, the lock industry in Aligarh, located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, employs over 200,000 workers. This area of over 5,000 factories, known as the Land of Locks, exports millions of its' products all over the world each year.

    The workers sitting crossed legged similar to a lotus pose would be difficult doing it hours a day. Every worker was dressed for cool weather.
