    I've been keeping chickens for about 12 years now and I have decided to start raising my own. Took me long enough I know, but what the heck. Think I'm leaning a little towards the Maticoopx. They both look good though. Thanks for the info.

    Hello, new subscriber here! Wonderful content you post! I was wondering if the water port covers for the Nurture Right fit on the Maticoopx and vice versa? I noticed Maticoopx sells a replacement cover for chamber 2, but not for chamber 1. I just purchased a Maticoopx off Amazon last night, so it won't be delivered until Sunday. I'm wanting to know if I will be able to cover port 1 on the Maticoop with the covers I have for my Nurture Right? I noticed on my NR that if both A & B chambers are covered during the incubation process, the humidity and temp stay more stabilized. Plus, it keeps the chambers from having to be constantly filled up during lockdown. I'm wanting to cover both ports on my Maticoopx the same way I do with my NR.

    • @milkmoneyminifarm
      @milkmoneyminifarm  Год назад +1

      The covers are not interchangeable. The ones for the Nurture Right are bigger than the ones for the Maticoopx.

    • @milkmoneyminifarm
      @milkmoneyminifarm  Год назад

      Also I fill both chambers completely up when I put them in lockdown. I have never had to add any water after lockdown. Plus adding water will change your humidity which is something you definitely don't want especially during lockdown.

      @Milk Money Mini Farm I keep the covers on both water ports at all times. I only fill/top off the second chamber and proceed to lockdown once they internally pip. I'll sometimes make a safety hole in the air cell to ensure the baby can get fresh air. I hatch Exhibition Dewlap African Goslings so they're a little different than chicken eggs. They can take several days to hatch from pip.
      Thanks for letting me know about the covers not fitting on the Maticoopx. I can definitely find something else to cover the ports.

    I bought my incubator 18 month ago and have done several batches of hatches. I am down to the last week for this batch and the unit started to sound off an alarm with beeps and the display is flashing mumbojumbo. I unplugged it, waited for 5 minutes and replugged it in and still beeping with the display flashing junk. I have pressed each button separately and have pressed different pairs and this does not clear it up. Any suggestions?

    • @milkmoneyminifarm
      @milkmoneyminifarm  5 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately I can't think of any. It sounds like your thermometer might be going out. Do you have any other thermometers that you can check the temp with? If the temp shows good then the only thing left is the humidity.

      @@milkmoneyminifarm thank you for your reply. the unit is not warm and the fan is not running-- so I think that it is not working AT ALL.. I will try putting heating pads over it and under it to keep the eggs warm

      I had 4 days left on a double set, one crapped out with beeping, then no fan no heat, luckily I had another going and put those eggs in the other after removing racks. Marked those eggs. Been unplugged a week came home to start up again still beep beep beep nada…. Ugh

      Open the valves. The more you open them the less the humidity.

    • @milkmoneyminifarm
      @milkmoneyminifarm  Год назад +1

      There could be so many answers to your question. I would need to know more information. How many times did you open it during the incubation process? Did you dry hatch or use water? If so, what was your humidity level? Are you positive that ALL of the eggs were fertile? Did you get the chicks out of the incubator right after each one hatched or did you wait at least 24-36 hours? And there are a million more that I could ask...lol. I had the same problems when I first started and I just had to learn as I went. I'm finally up to around a 96-98% hatch rate but it took a long time to get there.

    • @steveholloway6151
      @steveholloway6151 22 дня назад

      Natural selection maybe they were not fertilized, some just don’t mature to hatch. Not your fault in my opinion, fill it up start again
