The chicken sits on top and does her best... I'm not sitting on top but I'm doing my best !! LOL I'm sorry that hit my funny bone. You had me cracking up my sons asking me what's so funny ! Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. God bless you and your family.
I love that, the chicken sits on top and does her. I am not sitting on top but I am doing my best. You got this Cassie. God bless and stay safe 🙏❤ here's to those baby chicks 🐤 🐣🐤🐥🐣🐥🐤
When I was growing up we used a little lamp and an inverted Kentucky fried chicken bucket upside down with a small hole in it lol we used what we had lol. Good times
We love incubating eggs!!! Our kids took ours to school when they were younger and their friends in Class loved watching the process!!! Great video!!!!
That's a neat little incubator. There are a lot of opinions to what the right ways are to hatch eggs. I've tried many different ways and always have success. Not always a 100% hatch rate. You're right a broody hen doesn't have all the fancy gauges and thermometer's, they just hatch them lol.
My understanding on the higher humidity during lockdown is for easier hatching. Too dry and the chicks have a hard time extracting themselves. We have hatched chickens, ducks, and geese! So much fun.
I love hatching out chicks. We did a hatching video a month or so ago and it’s so much fun to watch them hatching. 🐣 We’ve had 7 chicks hatch today, have a few more hatching. Looking forward to seeing your new lil chicks. Great video!
Funny you say they feel heavier when in fact they should be lighter 😊 but it's now dead weight (not literally dead!) when it was liquid weight before. Idk.. trying to make sense of it!
Well done. I think there are many different ways & routines to hatch em. Obviously just caring for them like y’all are doing will be what’s best. Great practice for the red bourbon Turkey eggs y’all are getting the spring as well! 😂
There so big by now Cassie it's pretty hard to see the babies move as there so tight like our babies before birth . . Can't wait til your babies start hatching . . I can't Waite to see the baby son to see it he's so adorable .
What's really neat is sometimes when you're candling the eggs, the chick will either try to hide from the light or follow it. Depending on how the chick is laying, sometimes you can see wing feathers, feet or sumetimesyou can see the chick trying to peck at the membrane. They will start peeping before they hatch. It is very addicting! The eggs will move around, so don't worry about how the egg is laid on the screen, just have the large end up because the chick pecks at the highest point.
Cassie, ask 5 people and get 10 answers! LMBO! 😆 Once you get the hang of it you'll be hatching eggs left and right. I enjoyed this video so much, that before I knew it, it was over! 🧓
hey walker farm fam. it's been awhile I've been super busy with work and grandbabies but I'm watching and commenting now lol I have duck eggs in the incubator after candling it looks like only 2 of them did their thing. They are suppose to go on lock down Wednesday so we shall see what happens. One thing about hatching this time of year they have to stay in the house longer. well mine do I don't have a garage or anywhere outside to put them so ducklings will be in the house for awhile if they live and ducks are very much harder to incubate than chickens.
If i had the budget i would buy a sensitive microphone, its the likely method hens use to check their eggs and to be honest i got the impression the embryo really didn't enjoy the process of candling as it seemed to move away from the light as if it was scared or uncomfortable.
The eggs need airflow. I wouldn’t cover it with a towel. Good incubators have a little window you close halfway so the eggs get airflow. It’s worth it. Don’t skimp on the incubator. I did. Big mistake.
I noticed that tou had the eggs sitting on a towel uncovered... I suggest throwing the towel in the dryer to warm it up a little and when you pull an egg out, immediately, candle and stick it in the towel and cover it ... have your water warmed up ... and out your eggs on the hatching tray... so this as fast as possible... you can have someone hold the camera to document the first one, then hussle with the rest ... do not let the eggs cool for a long period of time ... Not at this stage of the game ... they are almost fully developed chicks inside those eggs .. mama hen has body heat and moisture... and they can handle low heat when developing...mama hen takes breaks to eat, poop, and drink ... but towards the end you can't hardly pry her off the nest ..
Hey Shirley this is the link out of our amazon store to buy one. Appreciate it. www.amazon.com/Incubator-Backyard-Farm-HatchMate-Automatic/dp/B07KDXCCV3
Hy-DROM-eter. Accent on the 2nd syllable. Pronounced like "drama". First e is soft, like pet, net, etc. Sorry to be "that guy". Sometimes I can't stop myself. ❤

We love this incubator so far!!

🤣🤣🤣 Thanks Clifford. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@WalkerFarmFam Me too! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🧓
I am starting a club for EGG INCUBATOR ADDICTS.
🤣🤣
Cassie, you need a hatching set up like the one Mary Carl fas at Cog Hill Farm. It's something.
hey walker farm fam. it's been awhile I've been super busy with work and grandbabies but I'm watching and commenting now lol I have duck eggs in the incubator after candling it looks like only 2 of them did their thing. good job mom.
I hope they all hatch.

you up your humidity during lock down so the eggs soften
👍🏻👍🏻
Happy Halloween!
🎃👍🏻
I just use my phone toch light, saves on money but it's a good thing to do with the kids
Happy Halloween!!🎃🎃🎃🎃Have fun kids and get lots of treats. 🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬 Stay safe.
wish you luck on the chicks.
Thanks Sherry!

the eg in their in not get in heavier it's in possible from where the will get extra weight😊
Cassie dear, was there a follow-up video to this? I'm trying to find see how it all turned out.
♥️ ♥️ ♥️
It seems eyes work better than camera for candeling eggs.
Agree!!!
Can you do a review on little train 8 egg incubator
Come on Cassie, sit on the eggs 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
hello great video. how many quail eggs can you put in there.
I haven’t filled it with quail eggs yet but probably 12...... maybe a few more.

It's always a learning curve, right?
Yessss!
Show temperature regulation
Where can we get one?
Hey Shirley this is the link out of our amazon store to buy one. Appreciate it.
www.amazon.com/Incubator-Backyard-Farm-HatchMate-Automatic/dp/B07KDXCCV3
If I order one u gonna ship me some eggs? Lol
LOL Well we don’t have fertile chicken eggs cause our rooster isn’t mature enough. Had to get these from Sawyer Ridge Farm but we got quail eggs. Ha!
Hi
👋🏼
I used to hatch 24 eggs at a time and it was a little stinky at the end!
😳 I don’t want a stinky house. LOL
I kept mine in the bathroom/tub and then would turn on the exhaust fan to air it out🤣
Did any chicks hatch yet?
Video coming soon...... 🤫 don’t tell anyone but yes 😉

Sorry to be "that guy". Sometimes I can't stop myself. ❤
Okie accent 👍🏻😉
@@WalkerFarmFam it's better than mine
Those eggs look fertile. Could see quite well. Hopefully ur chicks will pop out soon.
Glad you could see it!
Made a mistake? Watched the whole thing cos I want to know the mistake, i wasted 13 minutes cos of misleading title.
My mistake i heated the eggs after ten days which apparently you shouldn't do cause it will not work
Chickens try to take a bath later on..that changes humudity
Day 18 never been so excited over 11 stupid eggs.
Haha good luck!
Eek! You did it wrong. Now you'll hatch lizards, not chickens!
🤣🤣🤣 The boys will be happy.
Sorry not a hater but too many useless videos bout eggs out there
