This was so fun watching your experiment, that I subscribed to see what else you come up with! But I didn't catch which incubator brand/model you are using. I have 41 mixed breeds eggs in a Little Giant going at the moment. Took awhile to regulate the temp, and I put in three thermometers in various corners. Still air. First time using it as it was a gift, and seems easy enough. Way easier to use a broody, though! But I figured a late hatch of chicks would be nice to try, as I have some time to babysit. But I didn't like that the temps are not consistent all through the box. I've been pleasantly surprised in the past, though, with all kinds of methods and ways to incubate eggs, so I am hopeful to get a few chicks at least! Life always finds a way...
Thank you so much for your kind words and for subscribing. I use the Nurture right 360 incubator. I really like them. I am happy to hear you are getting your farm on! I hope you hatch some chicks 🐣
This was a great idea. Seems a wash or spoiled given the fertility issue, but lots of chick hatching is always good. Prefer dry hatching myself, as the humidity naturally increases on hatch day with the first chick coming out of the shell and usually holds between 60-70 throughout. Removing chicks is also a little safer since there is less of a chance of membrane shrink; I still avoid this if I have zippers though. Your experiment also showed a potential issue leaving dry chicks in for too long, as they may have contributed to the two stuck birds drying out to quickly. That said, I know it's hard but I've learned not to assist. It introduces weakness into the flock. Life is hard, and the first test for these birds is the shell.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience. Dry hatching is now my favorite way to hatch as well. I recently did a dry hatch in my three incubators and had a good hatch rate. The humidity did rise to around 60 percent with hatching chicks. Unfortunately, I did have a few stuck chicks. Next hatch, I will try removing the dry chicks sooner. It is hard not to assist, though, even when they don’t always survive assistance. Thank you for watching and for the advice. I really appreciate it 😃
I am happy to hear you are getting your farm on! Keep trying with incubation. Try different incubation methods and experiment with different humidity levels. You will find what works best for your area. I wish you all the best. Thanks for watching and reaching out 😄
Possibly. I find it to be the easiest method that I have tried and it is effective. However, if I come across a new hatching method I will be tempted to try it. Thanks for watching and reaching out 😄
Thanks for reaching out. I use a Sunbeam heating pad I found on Amazon. You can see it and how I use it in this video I made… m.ruclips.net/video/w6XoJ3bjpJ4/видео.html In the video description drop down menu is the link to the specific heating pads I use. Happy hatching 🐣
Such a wonderful, happy woman...with a unique laugh...thanks for sharing your information on hatching eggs.
Thank you for your kind words and you are so very welcome. Thanks for watching 😃
Really excited to find out your ratio for this dry method run. Thank you for sharing.

You are hired to hatch all mine. I usually get 50% give or take. So many die in the shell.

Are you only doing dry hatching now?
Possibly. I find it to be the easiest method that I have tried and it is effective. However, if I come across a new hatching method I will be tempted to try it. Thanks for watching and reaching out 😄
What kind of heat pad do you use?
Thanks for reaching out. I use a Sunbeam heating pad I found on Amazon. You can see it and how I use it in this video I made…
