Thank you so much! I really like the shoelace method. It seems to really help keep the humidity level steady. You should give it a try. Happy hatching 🐣
Thank you for reaching out. I’m with you there. Humidity has always been tricky since I started hatching so I have been searching for an easier way. I hope the shoelace method works well for you.
You should NEVER pull off dried membrane. Dampen with a damp rag to soften the membrane. You put that chick under unnecessary stress. That being said I have eggs ready to go into the incubator and may try this shoestring method.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing. I really appreciate it. I will make sure to use a damp rag to soften the membrane if I need to assist in the future. I wish you all the best with your hatches 🐣
Thanks for making this video. To help the chick out use a moist towel and dampen the membrane before taking it off. Much easier.
Thank you for reaching out. You are so right! A wet towel does make it so much easier! Thank you for sharing that. It is really helpful 😃
Haven't tried incubating yet, but your video has inspired me to do it. Thank you for all this information.
You are so very welcome. Thank you for reaching out and I am so happy to hear you are going to start incubating!
Great video! I really like this method and want to try it myself!

I'm going to try this on my next incubator hatch!
Thank you for reaching out. I am so happy to hear you are going to try this “egg-speriment.” Happy hatching 🐣
I had such a hard time with the humidity. I wish I knew this method before I hatched my chicks.

What type/material of shoestring?
Thank you for reaching out. I used cotton laces.
