Its so sad that when a Breeder doesn't do their due diligence, then animals suffer. Thank goodness she will just have a few ticks. Thank you for helping her
Complete BS! A reputable breeder would never send a puppy out with distemper. Obviously this pup came from a breeder that does only cares about money and most likely is a puppy mill breeder. The great majority of breeders that breed to continue only the best standards of the breed are quite reputable and would have either taken the puppy back refunding all the money or would have paid all the vet bills for the puppy.
I had a border collie/beagle mix puppy with distemper. She completely recovered and lived 17 years, 9 months. She and her 2 sisters were a joy. I'll always miss them.
Of course she was a foster fail. How could they possibly give up Grace after saving her life, and going through everything they've been through together?? Distemper is so often fatal, that it's a miracle that her family got her through it, without even knowing what disease they were battling. I'm so glad that Grace will grow up with her sisters. 🥰🥰🥰
@@Damani5445 Yep. Her original family had to give her up because they could no longer afford to take care of her. I watched the video, and understood that part perfectly. Her foster family adopted her, and helped her recover from distemper, which is fatal to 50% of dogs who get it. The fact that her new family saved her life without even knowing what she had is pretty incredible. I don't understand your comment.
I was relieved and thrilled when the text that Grace is a foster fail came on the screen. The entire family were clearly into helping Grace. Shame on that breeder. There should be a way to report irresponsible breeders who care more about money than the puppies.
they never are. we have Amish in Aroostook county that breed and have no clue how to train or raise a dog. they never vaccinate and their kids have NO medical care even when they break bones.
What a wonderful family! Grace could not have found a better home. I also just want to thank the original family, who were unknowingly sold a severely sick puppy and exhausted their personal finances to treat her, before accepting that they needed to find an organization to take over her medical care. It is compassionate and loving to realize your limits and seek out someone who can help, instead of just giving up on Grace (having her euthanized or left at a city shelter, where she wouldn't have gotten a second chance).
Foster fails are my favorite stories ❤🐶 love when 🐶 dont get uprooted to a different home and have to start all over again and instead stay with the family that has shown them ❤️ and patience from the start!
I know. We do need amazing people willing to foster and I do understand they need to adopt to make room for more but it breaks my heart when an animal builds trust and comes to love their owner then have to move on again 😢
The "CRUD" who sold the adorable pup should be put on social media to advise others of what a "creep" they are....thank goodness your diligence got dear little Grace through....may you have many many happy years with her...😊
What a great family! Love how involved everyone was in Gracie’s recovery. That quick bit at the end reminding the younger girl to praise her at the end of the run shows the parents are good people-parents as well as good dog-parents.
I have a friend who has a dog 🐕 like this sweet one and lived well and happy for long years. Give this sweet dog care and love and hugs. That's a big médecine. Natural médecine helps. Unfortunately my friend is very ill herself now and I know she misses her beloved dog. Be happy forever sweet dog 🐕❤
Her first owners did the right thing when they could no longer afford her vet fees. Instead of just giving up and having her put to sleep, they found an organisation who could carry on where they left off, thereby giving her a far better chance at survival and the hope of happier future, especially for a puppy that had barely even begun to live. So while I feel sad for her previous owners, I am also very grateful that they did both the right and responsible thing, but also what must have been an incredibly hard thing to do, by giving her over to people who could do what they could not. But this is also why you need to be so, so careful and really do serious research if you want to purchase a dog or cat. It is just better on all levels to adopt from a shelter, humane society or charity, hell, you even have charities that specialise in rescuing specific breeds if that is what you want in a pet. It is also a lot easier these days to find these specialist charities and rescues by going on the internet to find them.
Many years ago we adopted a small dog from a shelter in Florida. She seemed fine the first few days but then started vomiting and getting very weak. The vet said she had distemper and not a great chance of survival. He gave us medication but she kept failing. She must have contracted the disease at the shelter. We ended up having her put down because she was so weak and obviously dying. I cried for days. I still hate remembering it.
I feel sorry for the people who bought her and had to give her up because they couldn't afford her treatments. In the last week I've spent almost $3000.00 in Vet bills on my 2 rescue cats that I've had to 8 years . . . and that's not the first time. Vets are extremely expensive (and getting worse) and it makes me wonder how many people are forced to give up beloved pets for that reason.
So glad Gracie was a foster fail. Amazing parents who have taught their daughters about strength and resiliency and patience. Thank you. This why you adopt and not shop. Unscrupulous people only in it for the money. That breeder should be reported.
I rarely comment on such videos, but in this case I must say Gracie has hit the jackpot! I'm so glad for her that she's a foster fail... your family is perfect for her! ❤
This story brought tears to my eyes. If the amazing family that fostered/adopted this sweet dog read these comments, please know that you all are changing the world with your love, kindness, and positive spirit. Thank you💙💚❤👍.,
What an amazing, loving family! I wish everybody in the world was this great! Unfortunately some breeders are very irresponsible and just care about profiting. Thank you so much for taking excellent care of Grace! She is having the life she so deserves now! God bless you!❤️🙏
Which means that YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MUST AND I MEAN "MYST" KEEP HER❤. SHE WILL NOT MAKE IT WITHOUT YOU N FAMILY, especially the kids!💖 Mow if you can get back to the breeder and find the other puppies, I am sure, have distemper too so they need to do exactly what you did to get Her HAPPY! THANK YOU💖🐕
ABSOLUTELY, THE BEST FOSTER FAMILY ‼Thank you for having so much patience and taking the time. Lots of people would have thrown up their hands, and she would have gone from person to person....BRAVO FOR YOU AND GRACIE!! SO SWEET 💙💙💙

Doesn't matter where you get a pet from is important to ask if the vaccines are updated..
Breeders need to have every dog in their care licensed to check that all their medical care is provided
Exactly why I hate breeders. Its about the money for them, not the dog. Adopt, don't shop!
All about the money for many breeders
For friggin' sure! 👍✨️

Amish não tem que cumprir como os outros cidadãos? Então, se forem cruéis para com os animais, há que fazê-los pagar na justiça!

At first I was thinking cerebellar hypoplasia, but hearing it was early distemper makes me kinda angry. Vaccinations work, people!
When their tested and for years prove without ill effects, not some fairy dust that people say been worked for years and only now test upin humans!
I was also thinking megaesophagus
