Oh, I know, let's give the employee we've been bullying a plugged-in hot iron for a demonstration and then taunt him about his wife. What could possibly go wrong?
People often bully someone and keep pushing them for a reaction. Then act surprised when they succeed and their target explodes in fury. They wanted this. They put in the effort pushing for this. Then they have the nerve to act surprised and claim to be the victim

I love those cues where when he is clearly starting to get frustrated, yet is trying to keep his cool at first, you hear the sound of the iron letting off steam. It keeps happening like Van Alden is purposely doing it because he is fuming inside yet he wants to explode bc he is just getting humiliated. It happens a few times until Van Alden ultimately cant use the iron anymore to convey his feelings and finally lets off the real steam classic Nelson Kasper Van Alden style. Brilliant scene.
Excellent scene and what makes it great is that Van Alden doesn't just run out the door when it's over, which would have been the easiest/obvious way to write it. Instead, he approaches the window and everyone cowers in a wave, giving us the chance to see the satisfaction in Van Alden's face. AMAZING writing.
have you ever noticed that its always "breaking balls" or "its a joke" whenever these idiots decide to take it too far? and they wonder why they either get beaten badly or killed in the end
Unbelievable actor this guy was in the role of Van Alden. Every scene, so many emotions, always on the edge, and yet can be a stone blooded killer. So well cast.
Yeah when I first saw this episode I thought he was going to split the ironed guy's head open with it. A 1920s era typewriter with all that heft to itself could easily do that.
It’s funny that I hated Nelson early on but then he become this person and I’m like “Hell yea.” There’s nothing much interesting then watching a man of god decent into hell.
Without van alden Michael Shannon. Boardwalk would of only been 3 seasons. What a brilliant actor shannon is. The grin when the fat boy is crying is priceless.
See this is what happens when u say bad things about a man’s wife or kids. Do not cross that line or shit like this or worse will happen. I would have done the same 😊
A reason why I don't socialize with people and or work in an office environment people cross the line too many times like this guy then wonder why they get fucked up
I’ve had to work with people like that and I know the feeling. Sometimes the best thing you can do is give up on that job and move onto something better. Def not burn the face tho lol
In today's world it wouldn't happen, as even legitimate gags and jokes wouldn't be allowed in some companies given that people are majorly thin skinned Note this guy wasn't joking around he was just being a massive prick to George and got what was coming
@@QUHectic212 The finale was awful. I think everyone figured out the twist long before we got to the ending. All in all this show was a HUGE waste of potential

Well they iron out their problems in the end like mature adults.
I'm not sure if he pushed the button or not but it also had that little steam reservoir thing
ZOD WILL NOT TOLERATE INSOLENCE

Love his face when he says "I misspoke, Im sorry."
So fantastic🎉

Everyone knows, that stoic guy at work who is wound way too tightly.
You don't fuck with that guy.
"That guy didn't deserve to be burned in his face with that iron,"---said No one. Ever.
ilovebeinagirl he did deserve it

Lesson learned. Don't bully your coworkers. Especially when they're holding a red hot iron.
That scream of pain from that guy almost hits you in the feels that it sounds so real
I know makes me hungry for pork.
I'm wondering if someone, somewhere mastrubated to it?
"George be reasonable!"
"Ok" turns into a mini hulk, destroys office and leaves satisfied lol

No he should’ve ran better writing
That was friggin hilarious....the writing of that scene was perfect. I couldn't stop laughing!!😂
"You wanna know how I got this scar?"
That’s the definition of “KEEP MY WIFE’S NAME OUT CHO FUCKIN MOUTH”
Should have ironed out their differences,it was rather pressing.
Im creasing at this
It's not good to air your dirty laundry in public though.
Never joke about a man’s wife, or his mother. Especially a man as clearly close to the edge as George. That’s just a recipe for disaster.
“ George be reasonable” and “c’mon it was a gag!”
man the ignorance
If I lived in an era where everyone talked like this I’d be pushing a hot iron on a lot of peoples faces
The writing and dark humor in the show was genius. Pure gold
The close up after he destroyed the office is excellent. I honestly couldn't stop laughing from his crazed expression.
See what happens when you want to be funny at someone else's expense.
You can hear the skin ripping from the jokester’s face after it seared to the iron.

Absolutely...that was top notch acting. His acting in this is way better than the more famous actors they pay top dollar for. He has a true skill set.
When you’re heat vision doesn’t work so you improvise.
JUST A PRANK BRO.
For those wondering when the term "burn" was first used as a witty retort to an insult, look no further.
Now that’s how you put your 2 weeks notice 😂
How has no one cast Michael Shannon as Frankenstein after seeing this?
I laughed so hard at this
Don’t mistake politeness for weakness.
fucking love Michael Shannon
"My name is Jimmy, his name's Greg Bule/ Me him and you, we went to the same school"
Flat Iron Face was lucky that dude wasn't turned around with the typewriter in his hands.
Yeah when I first saw this episode I thought he was going to split the ironed guy's head open with it. A 1920s era typewriter with all that heft to itself could easily do that.
He did say he wasn’t feeling well
This scene makes me laugh so fuckin hard! 😂😂😂😂
Guy went full negan
Negan spends atleast 1 hour blabbering ... Talking dead remember ?
And, next year, we'll have him demonstrate how a gun works...oh, that didn't go well either, did it?
Now THAT. That was great xD
The typewriter not doing anything when thrown was spectacular.
Dont joke about another mans wife....... EVER
Or another Mans marriage. You never know what is under the surface
Ur wife gae
It has a handle that is very comfortable on the hands. And an iron that is less comfortabel on the face
3:10 Channelling his inner George of the Jungle!
It’s funny that I hated Nelson early on but then he become this person and I’m like “Hell yea.” There’s nothing much interesting then watching a man of god decent into hell.
at least he didn't drowned anyone
Isn't "George, be reasonable!" what that guy screams right before getting shot a few weeks later?
Yep. The same scene where he, Lard Arse, and another co-worker, ambush and beat Van Alden in some alleyway.
I think they reused the audio from the dad in the “best cry ever” video
So they just had a plugged in hot iron sitting on a table in the office? Weird.
That escalated quickly
It's general zod as a spy for krypton lol Michael Shannon is the man
my favorite scene of my favorite show........WHY DID YOU CANCEL IT HBO
They DIDN'T cancel it. What are you talking about?
The team that wrote and produced Boardwalk Empire wanted to start work on Vinyl, iirc.

im 40 and in all my years know when a man looks at you like that 2:12 run away

‘Fuck around and find out.’
Good thing Sigrid wasn't there or they would have wiped out everyone in the room. "Bad people."
"Jyor Husband, He FEK me, on Tebel, On Counter!"
Bro General Zod just branded this fool lmao
Did he end up buying it?
He bought the steam powered dildo
No, but he did still want that dildo.
'Same time tomorrow?'
One of the series best scenes xD
Beautiful. Just beautiful. I love it.

That was reasonably the correct response.
Never laugh at another man and embarrass him in front of the public!! Tends to piss him off and things can go south from there!

Ok, guess I'm gonna have to watch this show now!
underrated artist.
i react that way exactly when I'm at the car wash being constantly bombarded by lip synching no talent shitty hip hop music blaring around me lol

Very similar to how I would handle the situation honestly

Need to make these kind reactions legal for idle shit talk.
John Kimble should have done that to Crisp's mom in kindergarten cop
Van Alden should really relax.
He is relaxed
It was just a good, bro!
