Do you understand authority ? Policy is there for a process that gives the Captain authority to allow or not anything or anyone from entering his instrument. The consumer can complain to the company and the captain can just say ,I was not in the mood and he has done no wrong. Mind you, he can also do the same to people. It is his ship/ plane . And he takes full responsibility for it. One on whose hands are 100s of souls and has taken care of 1000s if not millions of souls is a hero. And if the hero was not feeling like to carry any single person, group of ppl, or an animal or a cargo. He can refuse . And the company may compensate the consumer if required but the captain is very much within his rights and faces no penalty.

I brought my pets in Air India from Dubai to Chennai after fullfilling requirements without hussle Air India was the only airline allowing pet transport. If Air India doesn"t allow carrying pets then what will happen to pets living with numerous Indians having pets in these countries upon their return. This is unfair treatment by Air India after privatization. Request the manament of Air India to allow carrying pets. Request Hon.Minister of Civil Aviation to make the airline to agree to carry pets.

That’s why Indian Railways is the best. You can easily travel with your pet with a first class ticket. No one will disturb you. Only drawback is that journey becomes too long, otherwise it’s too comfortable.
Then ask the pilot beforehand and confirm. Why did they check in the pet and give a boarding pass? It's not easy to cancel everything just for a pilot.

Mostly the sticks are used just in case there's a brawl between dogs. Not only with stray dogs it can be with other pet dogs too. Some people do beat up strays but not pet parents. It's just for their safety. Although i do agree keeping pets and then going around eating Chicken is a bit of a double standard.
I haven't seen anyone beating street dogs with those sticks. Why would a pet owner want to beat random dogs unnecessarily? Those are kept to protect the pets if strays dogs try to bite them.
As an airindia staff why we are not denying the pet first is that we will close the counters 1 hr prior to departure due to load and trim calculations.The captian will be in the arrival flight which will arive 40 mins before departure so we will inform the passenger that the captains word is final and will give the brdg pass for the pet and let them wait at the brdg gate .once the flight arrives we will check with captian and if he is satisfied with the cage(pet should be free to roam around inside the cage)he will say ok or else we will deny..it purely depends upon captians approval and this is clearly written in the indemnity form that we give the passenger before giving the boarding pass which they have to read carefully and sign.

Captain has complete authority to decline the entry if the plane is jam packed and if presence of pet does not auger well with others. He has to look after 200 passengers first and then comes the dog. It's completely upto him and what he did was well within the rules. If you love pets so much, hire a private jet and go wherever you want. When there are other co-passengers, it's the responsibility of the captain to ensure a smooth ride.

The pilot reserves the ultimate right to allow/disallow anyone on the airplane. If a pilot deems that you/person is unfit/unsafe to travel for some or the other reason. He can make you leave the flight before take off. He is not accountable for your loss, but he is accountable for all the other nth passenger's safety.
See it's very simple many people are not comfortable with pets same with airlines staff,so they deboarded you just because of your dog, so what you can do, go court and demand for compensation.
The Same thing they did to us... We were about 5 students and we were waiting early, watching the status. When we approach for the boarding pass, we get the news that, counter got shifted to the other side of the airport. Literally we ran for it and luckilg got there and were standing in the line, all of a sudden the counter closes and refuses to take us in. Then security comes and starts asking what's happening and the airlines staff leaves camly.....
Well sadly, pet management in the aviation in India is not as improved compared to the west. Still the airline people are not used to manage flying with pets in India.

As per Air India’s website, pets weighing 5kg along with container are allowed in cabin. You have to pay extra for pets even if you don’t have any other luggage. Also, you need to inform the airlines in advance that you are carrying a pet. So their concern is valid because they paid for the animal and received boarding pass. They probably made all their other plans on the assumption that the animal is traveling with them. I’d be upset too. Not many other airlines allow pets, although some allow pets as check-in luggage. Of course there are requirements to be fulfilled like container size, muzzle, age is the pet, vaccination records, etc. But pet aviation rules in india are prehistoric and really need upgradation.

I totally happy with this rule. I have left my pet and go alone, I'm happy they helped me to stop her going with me.
This is the reason why i travel in train with my pet elephant.

Mostly the sticks are used just in case there's a brawl between dogs. Not only with stray dogs it can be with other pet dogs too. Some people do beat up strays but not pet parents. It's just for their safety. Although i do agree keeping pets and then going around eating Chicken is a bit of a double standard.
I haven't seen anyone beating street dogs with those sticks. Why would a pet owner want to beat random dogs unnecessarily? Those are kept to protect the pets if strays dogs try to bite them.
Air India has a responsibility to answer this family publicly.
This is why I don't have any pets . I go alone wherever I go .

As an airindia staff why we are not denying the pet first is that we will close the counters 1 hr prior to departure due to load and trim calculations.The captian will be in the arrival flight which will arive 40 mins before departure so we will inform the passenger that the captains word is final and will give the brdg pass for the pet and let them wait at the brdg gate .once the flight arrives we will check with captian and if he is satisfied with the cage(pet should be free to roam around inside the cage)he will say ok or else we will deny..it purely depends upon captians approval and this is clearly written in the indemnity form that we give the passenger before giving the boarding pass which they have to read carefully and sign.

That’s very stupid and it makes you look stupid for justifying this. It’s goes to show air india’s sheer bureaucracy and lack of coordination. Everyone right from ground staff to flight staff should be trained in the same set of checks and balances. You cannot take a ton of money from people and put their plans ahead in jeopardy just because you guys are dumb and coordinated. Yes but is not it uncertain? If I plan a vacation beforehand and I booked everything in advance and was denied by the captain even if everything was in check beforehand, it would be heavy on the pocket of the customer .

@sakshi There should be a different plane altogether for people having pets and then in that plane all should have atleast one pet then it will be equalised and understood that why pets are not allowed on planes, one pet raising havoc in the whole plane doesn’t feel very explanatory….and to understand it even more along with a dog pet there should be an allegator as a pet too so that the people carrying a dog can feel the discomfort of “people fighting to carry pets on plane” then they will feel the fear of their pet dog getting harmed by the allegator pet. A baby might cry but it wont bite anybody or bark at strangers and is potentially not a threat of any kind…

It's people with babies and toddlers who should travel in a different plane altogether since their kids scream at the top of their lungs, their kids puke on others and their kids kick sets on other people. Captain has complete authority to decline the entry if the plane is jam packed and if presence of pet does not auger well with others. He has to look after 200 passengers first and then comes the dog. It's completely upto him and what he did was well within the rules. If you love pets so much, hire a private jet and go wherever you want. When there are other co-passengers, it's the responsibility of the captain to ensure a smooth ride.
@@noice8674Then why did they took money from them if they can't accommodate the dog? If they had problem with overpacked plane, atleast they could've shifted the flight to late night or early morning flight. It's clear harrasment for taking money and refusing the service.
@@nilanjasa007 They only denied the dog from taking the flight. Couple could have taken the flight. If they had charged for the dog also, they can ask for refund anyways. Bookings will be done well in advance and permission to board will be given only during departure.

The pilot reserves the ultimate right to allow/disallow anyone on the airplane.
If a pilot deems that you/person is unfit/unsafe to travel for some or the other reason. He can make you leave the flight before take off. He is not accountable for your loss, but he is accountable for all the other nth passenger's safety.
See it's very simple many people are not comfortable with pets same with airlines staff,so they deboarded you just because of your dog, so what you can do, go court and demand for compensation.

The Same thing they did to us...
We were about 5 students and we were waiting early, watching the status. When we approach for the boarding pass, we get the news that, counter got shifted to the other side of the airport. Literally we ran for it and luckilg got there and were standing in the line, all of a sudden the counter closes and refuses to take us in. Then security comes and starts asking what's happening and the airlines staff leaves camly.....
That is why i got a GOAT as a pet.They think he's MESSI.

Still the airline people are not used to manage flying with pets in India.

The proof anyone may need of how careless these pet owners are is actually in the video and the pictures going viral. There is no leash , restraint on the pet at anytime at the airport . Question is how can one trust such careless pet owners? I think the airline did the right thing

As per Air India’s website, pets weighing 5kg along with container are allowed in cabin. You have to pay extra for pets even if you don’t have any other luggage. Also, you need to inform the airlines in advance that you are carrying a pet. So their concern is valid because they paid for the animal and received boarding pass. They probably made all their other plans on the assumption that the animal is traveling with them. I’d be upset too.
Not many other airlines allow pets, although some allow pets as check-in luggage. Of course there are requirements to be fulfilled like container size, muzzle, age is the pet, vaccination records, etc.
But pet aviation rules in india are prehistoric and really need upgradation.
This is why I got a squirrel as a pet. We flew business class once, but he decided to stay there and not deplane later.

Air India clearly mentioned that pet in cabin is subject to availability there are many terms and conditions to accept the pet in aircraft always the decision maker is a captain
