They lost Russell Westbrook (who did not work out for the Lakers despite his still incredible athleticism), et al. for a team that is overall better defensively, depth-wise, youth, height, shooting (both 3 pointers and free throws), and offensive creativity (players who can get their own shot like Rui, D'Lo, Beasley). The biggest surprise is NOT that they have gelled, it's that they were able to plug so many holes at virtually the same time with 6 new players.

This team can compete with any team in the league. Especially if AD can stay on the court. Perhaps the most underrated result of these moves is that for the first time in his career LeBron will have a really deep bench. Him being able to rest without it being a given that the bench will give up a lead is going to be huge.

I don't know about their record, but I say they make it to the finals. I say they win the championship this year.
