New Video! Since Timmy made this video nearly two years ago, a lot of the process now looks a bit different, so Timmy decided to make an updated video here: ruclips.net/video/6J95rhvEJZc/видео.html
Hi Rafael, If you want to email the document as a PDF, you could click on "print" in Google Docs, select save as PDF, set it to only print page 1, click save and you'll then have a PDF of only page 1 saved on your computer that you can attach to an email. Alternatively, if you don't want to send it as a PDF, you could make a copy of the Google Doc by clicking on "file" and going down and clicking on "make a copy", then delete the other 5 pages from the new copy and email it using any of the methods in this video. Hope this helps.
If you download the Google Doc as a PDF, you will be able to attach it to a confidential email in Gmail and the recipient will be able to read it but not print or save it. Unfortunately, Google Docs doesn't currently have a built in way to send a document in confidential mode. Hope this helps.
That's strange, the text definitely should not be distorted. Is your document a standard document you just created in Google docs, or have you converted it from a Word document or something? Even if it was originally a word doc it still shouldn't be distorted but it could explain it if there is some strange formatting involved. If you create a new blank Google Doc, type something random, and then download it as a word doc or PDF. Is the text in that doc distorted or does that look fine? If that looks fine, you could try copy and pasting all the text from the other Google doc into the new Google doc. Then perhaps if you download the new Google doc it won't look distorted. I've never heard of this issue before so I don't quite know why it's happening but hopefully this helps you to fix it.
Hi Trolley, Google Docs has changed a bit since I made this video back in January. Now when you click on "Email as attachment" the send button will be greyed out and in the bottom right corner. But as soon as you put and email address in the "To" box the button should turn blue and become clickable. If there is no button at all, you could try deleting your browser cache. If you don't know how you can watch my tutorials for deleting the browser cache in Chrome and Firefox: Chrome: ruclips.net/video/8afJj_wxMz4/видео.html Firefox: ruclips.net/video/9pbOVtFtgBo/видео.html And once you've done that, refresh the page and try again. If you still don't have a send button, you could always try some of the other methods shown in this video. Hope this helps.
Omg dude this changed my life you are a life saver thank you so much for your guide Timmy this is a big help for me thank you so much btw i subsrcibed to you too
As far as I know, the only way to do that would be to create a new Google Doc and copy and paste the part that you want into the new document. Then you could share the new one using any of the methods in this video and it would only contain the part you want to share. Hope this helps.
Thank for the clear instructions. However, I'd hoped to actually "attach" my document to an email I've already composed. So, not really clear on how to do it. (I don't want to send my document separately.) At one time it was a simple matter of clicking on the paper clip in gmail and selecting the document to be attached.
Hi Pam, if you follow the steps I show at 3:13 in this video where I download the Google Doc as a Microsoft Word Doc, you should then be able to attach that downloaded Word Doc to a composed email in Gmail by clicking the paperclip. Hope this helps.
hey bro do you know how i can send a doc since i have a project on my laptop beacuse everyone in the group had to submit so basically im asking if u know how I can send a doc to someone so that they can also submit it. Cuz it was a group project where they gave me all the research and I just put into one thing.
Hi Declan, If you send it via Google Docs using the last two methods I show in this video, the person receiving it should be able to submit it. If that doesn't work, you could download it as a Microsoft Word document and email it to them as shown in the second method of this video and then they would be able to upload it to their Google Docs by following the steps in this video: ruclips.net/video/m8zNSx6_JAM/видео.html Hope this helps.
If you're using any of the methods where you send it directly from Google Docs, there isn't really any way to verify that it's been sent, but as long as you've clicked send and it hasn't come up with any error messages, it's pretty safe to assume it has been sent. Or, if you're using any of the methods where you send it from inside Gmail, you can look in the sent folder and make sure the email you just sent is in there.

I have taken your advice. The document converts into Word or PDF easily but the text distorts slightly. How can I solve this problem?

What about copy and paste ?
Yes copying and pasting it into an email could be another way to do it if you just want the content of the Google doc to be in the body of the email.
how do i know if an email has been sent?
If you're using any of the methods where you send it directly from Google Docs, there isn't really any way to verify that it's been sent, but as long as you've clicked send and it hasn't come up with any error messages, it's pretty safe to assume it has been sent.
