As a thalassophobic, going deep in the sea towards the Shisui of the Violet Tides dungeon was a traumatic experience but worth the trouble, thanks to the amazing OST.
When I had first heard that this xpac was going to include swimming, I immediately thought back to my favorite underwater themes in FF6 and FF7. This is definitely up there with them now.
I get nostalgia from this zone theme, if it makes any sense it matches how it felt to play FFXIV during that time for me. Having my friends from past MMOs all playing together with me. Enjoying the time together doing roulettes, trials, and raids. Unfortunately most don't play anymore because life has changed. Will always love FFXIV even when I don't play because of all the great memories.
Currently learning how to play this song in game, its not easy lmao. But this is honestly one of my favorite songs in the game, it's also the only song I could tolerate in the entire expansion

This area reminds me so much of ryoshima coast from okami.. the tower.. the dragon people palace under the sea
Probably because both areas are generally inspired/dirived from Japanese mythology, iirc.
The resemblance is uncanny! Also that volcano looks very familiar, also in okami.
This is my fave theme in SB. Just like SoC was in HW.

I love how this MMO is consistently as good as a numbered FF title. Story wise, lore, music. Truly is one of my favourite Final Fantasy games to date.

The Fringes might be my favorite zone theme in Stormblood (and maybe beyond) but this sits right up near there. Love it!

Ruby Sea is definitely, not only my favorite theme of the SB zones, but also my favorite zone altogether. I just wish it was bigger.
