This is simply a last minute setup I made to fool around with after my buddy Slav discovered that Lethal Proximity works with Shredder Frags. I wanted to see how it would do on the "hardest" maelstrom conditions since they were up at the time when I made a build. Overall this isn't anything really to write home about, it's sometimes a danger to swap to your ranged weapon just to try to make the most of the explosion when you would rather have your melee weapon out to deal with whatever's in front of you. I brought the Chainaxe to see how Opportunist felt since on the Mk4 its light attacks can stagger on weakspot hit against certain enemies as well as proc on armor/monsters when hit by VoC or grenades.
how did you like opportunist? Was thinking of also trying it recently - but the slaughterer + headtaker combo is so strong for just general fighting. Also thrust is always good too (but better on the XII i think)
@@Mamox45 I need to test it more with onslaught vs rending strikes talents to see if it’s even worthwhile. Overall I think headtaker/slaughterer is still the best anti-everything besides monsters where having bloodletter would be ideal. So far it seems opportunist is stronger on initial mob contact especially if their mass is low enough for the mk4 to stagger on light 1 weakspot hit but double stacking with head/slaughterer pulls ahead on sustained fighting.
How come you throw so many shredder grenades at bosses? Do the bleed really add up to anything meaningful, or did you just figure you might as well, since you had so many?
So many and with the Lethal Proximity blessing on Boltpistol it doesn't hurt to take advantage of the huge explosion radius to melt the chaff around Monsters just to make things comfier in general.
It might but it's not really worth the effort to pair with Lethal Proximity just for that purpose. Grenade Tinkerer only buffs Krak grenade damage unlike the Shredders where it also buffs their explosion radius. The blessing was only worth in this specific context to basically further boost the explosion buff from that talent to make an obscenely useful anti-horde grenade as seen in the first 15s of this video
Just a shame most people waste their krak nades on one bulwark or crusher most of the time. I cringe every time i see it, especially when someone is already dealing with it.🤦♂️
It’s very strong, not as obscenely OP as it was 1.5-2 years ago but for people that can manage its poor mobility it’s an excellent anti-everything weapon, especially the mk6 once you master its push attack - light combo for single target
@@scharrk not necessarily, zealot might have higher maximums for haste and crit than vet but the nade spam, higher base melee damage from nodes/talents, and higher weakspot damage along with shout makes vet very competitive. Not to mention vet has multiple sources of +x% damage on ability use talents to further juice up burst windows outside of zealot only boosting one attack from stealth or chastise.

Yes, it’s been buffed for a decent while. Mk4 is probably the easiest single target weapon in the game currently
How do you have 5 shredder grenades without even taking the grenade capacity perk? It’s caped at 4 with perk.
Auric Maelstroms sometiimes have a modifier that gives you more Grenades
