As someone born and raised in the Appalachian mountains, this scene makes me very happy because this is the most authentic-sounding accent from an actress who probably is not from this area and also because this is what bluegrass from this area sounds like. I love it!
How’s life up on the Appalachian mountains?
@@isaacmelchor8928 Why, fine. Nothing ever happens up here, lol. Too hard to get in here. Essentially, one road in, one road out.
Awesome
This!!!! Born and bred in Virginia and her voice SHOOK me. A real southern queen with soul
@@Madfart69 I know, right? They actually managed to get it right for once.
I love how she just says that she was back as if she just came back from a holiday and as if she wasnt forced to fight to death
She did a good Southern accent. Not too subtle but not too over the top like most actors have a tendency to do. And it has just the right amount of twang.
Her dialect coach must have been amazing then. And they definitely need to be booked for more films that have southern characters so we won't keep hearing that over-the-top exaggerated accent
She seems to be good with accents, as she did a good Puerto Rican one in West Side Story. It was jarring to hear her speak with her real voice afterwards
Tom Blyth said he didn't even have to act in this scene because how could you not fall in love with Rachel😍
I have never crushed harder on a female character than Lucy Gray in full song shredding the strings. My god 🥹
The way she looks at Snow is so beautiful, pure happiness and love!
REAL AND NO ONE TALKS ABOUT THAG PART
He fumbled so bad, I can’t even…
@@MrImastinkerhe was power hungry, what can the man say
pure as the driven snow
I repeated that scene so many times as well!!!!!! Both the actor and actress nailed it!
That's genius how she notices Snow right when she's singing the lyrics "thinking you're so fine" as she looks at him with love and admiration...followed by the lyrics "thinking you're in control" as she's momentarily caught off guard....that's so poignant ❤ love how she becomes more enthusiastic being aware of Snow's presence
I love the moment at 1:35. The way her gaze towards the men/Peacekeepers was planned to be one of an alluring innocence but still with something sultry in it - in the book, she heavily implies that flirtations is how she keeps the family afloat.
But that breaks when she sees him, and her eyes are open wide - at first, its shock and then just being able to see him before her... the way they share a smile is SO sweet.
WHY COULDNT IT HAVE JUST STAYED THAT WAY.
Because it was never that way. Because Snow was a possessive narcissist who never actually loved her for who she was.
Also, it’s super quick, but there’s another peacekeeper behind Snow that notices the interaction
No, snow did love her but snow lied and she hates liars apparently...@JimmySteller
fr @@JimmySteller
@@JimmyStellerI disagree. You can love someone and be toxic lmao. By painting it as simple as him being a narcissist and possessive, it takes away from the tragedy. In the movie, I would say there's more merit in that claim but if you've read the book, you get to see insight to his thoughts about her. At one point, he makes peace with the idea of dying because then no one would be able to tie her back to what happened at the Hob and he thinks she would be safe. In the book, he also had thoughts of rebellion and distrust in the Capitol, so you see he's capable of change, but that he kept choosing wrong every time. There's also the added wrinkle of the districts being the poison to seal in his fate. Despite living poor and starving, he was still better off than most in Twelve, so he saw them as the Capitol did, due to indoctrination. But there were times when he would break free of it, think about how nice it would be to just stay at the lake with Lucy Gray and never leave... and then he would shake himself out of it.
and from this day forward, Snow became inspired by Lucy and went on to be the original Slim Shady
Rachel Zegler's sultry southern accent really made Lucy Gray way more memorable. She was already a baddie, but she makes my spine tingle like crazy too 😍
Has anyone noticed that in the films, she always says “You CAN take my Wealth” but in the soundtrack it’s always “You CAN’T”
Well soundtrack and movie versions probably have different meanings. Hence the change in words.
If I’m not mistaken, in the book it also says “you CAN take my wealth.” That’s probably why she says it in the movie. They probably changed it to “can’t” for the soundtrack because it makes more sense out of context.
@@cjsbarrelsofficial in the book it actually says "you CAN'T take my wealth, for it's just a rumor" as in there r no riches to steal anyway
"You know I gave up drinking when I was 13"
Funny line.
Didn't she say 12?
@@Eviee22yes she did
WE MAKIN IT TO THE HANGING TREE WITH THIS ONE 😎😎🔥🔥
😂😂😭
I’m from Alabama, in Lawrence County, she did a wonderful job singing hitting those country sounds in the song. She is an awesome actress. I could almost see myself in her.
It’s been months and this scene stays with me. Rachel is so talented & Tom too, the look he gave her is everything this might be one of my favorite movie ever it makes me want to be an actress, truly one of the best hunger games i need more of them 💗
The claps and feets hitting the floor makes this version of music more and more percfect.
SHE LOVED SNOW SO MUCH ITS NOT FAIR
And snow loved her so much
I love her voice. It’s full of soul and power. They perfectly cast this movie tbh. Young Snow looks best with the buzz cut lmao
This scene captured me. Love this
i was at the restroom when this scene played in the theater, so i didn’t get to see it. seeing it now made me shocked. they included so many elements and even quoted something from the book. i love how accurately this scene was made
Ngl one of the most underrated movies of 2023.
i agree
This is my Roman empire 1:35
FR!
1:35 my favorite part❤❤❤
That little spark in her eyes! Rachel is so good actor
The way she’s barely able to contain her excitement- Rachel Zegler is iconic
Lucy is so fine bro
for real
Why do you always have to objectify women. Just say she’s pretty ,weirdo
Thinkin’ she’s so fine
Yeah and talented and charming. A lot of guys would kill to protect her.
I think it is a part of the character...indeed, she is. It is a fact at this point.
The last movie I saw with my dad. I cherish it :-)
I am so sorry for your loss! May this amazing movie and especially the beautiful songs in it bring you comfort

She sees him as if she wants him in her life so much. I had hoped their story goes in an alternate happy ending.
Enjoyed the movie so much. I have the soundtrack on vinyl and I love the songs on it.
I wish there was more music like this! I love the beat and the story in the song!
I was literally SOBBING at this part
I am a blood member of clan Border bell and descended from Clan McLeod through the McLures and had family in Ulster and throughout the Appalachians from PA through Va and NC and then TN generations ago before they came out west and this is very fresh, very real, very authentic. Thank you for paying homage to our history and culture.

i cant handle the way they looked at each other 😭
I kind of just wish they ended up happy together after she gave him that look
Such a great actress❤️❤️❤️
i loved this scene so much in the theatres and i still do
Theres a lot of controvery surrounding Rachel Zegler, but i dont think anyones arguing about whether she can sing!
Stupid controversy
@@joewhitehead3it’s always misogyny, same with Jennifer Lawrence and Brie Larson

@@oncerand_directioner Hated her for what?
This is my fav scene in the movie and book
Sad how she hesitated seeing him cause she was singing about him. Probably thought he’d go back to the capitol and get her killed for it
I thought it was just because she didn't expect to see him there. She didn't know yet that Corlo came to 12 after getting kicked out of the Capitol.
No. This song’s not about him
I don't think she thought that. At this point she was puzzled, surprised, confused, even shocked. She knew he was into her but also knew he worked for the capital and for himself, his own ambitions.
PLEASE read the book yall. this song was an old one directed at billy taupe and the capitol as well as mayfair, it was a wide shot! later on she writes something for snow, as well as the hanging tree in the book to tell him where to meet. not everything in the movie is completely canon smh
Hope people could stop targeting her
Rachel has right to voice her personal opinion
Though I dissagree with her on her comment on snow white, that's her right to say it
Just that it was kind of crappy that as the lead actress, you criticized so much about the source materials
But all of that doesn't change the fact that Rachel Zegler is a talented young actress
In case people don't know
Rachel sang all her songs LIVE ON SET, not in a studio
I like how she sings, but I can't shake away the feeling that the songs are out of place. No idea why
I agree. The fact that people decided to “cancel” her over a harmless opinion when there are actual horrible people in Hollywood is crazy. Peoples priorities are all out of wack.
@@solomeyashiukashvili7113Did you read the book? The songs are all throughout the book so they didn’t feel out of place to me when I watched the movie
@atable2505 I think they mean unnatural. Because she does sing when it seems that it is inappropriate or awkward to do so. And that's not really about being accurate to the books. It has to appear natural on the screen. She has a great voice though I'm not a fan of the style. As for the Snow White thing, fans are being irrational as usual. She's just the actress.
no matter how badly she handled snow white interviews she is an amazing actress who deserves more attention
Why isn't this version on spotify
It is u gotta find the bootstopin version.
0:28 when she starts to sing
Esta escena es tan pura y hermosa
Loved this movie
I love this song 😊😊
Hits different with a few beers in my system
I love this song. lol
Reminder that Francis Lawrence had Rachel Zegler sing all of her songs live to get the accurate reactions of Snow/Tom Blyth
I know she was Maria Vasquez in Spielberg’s West Side Story so obviously she’s incredibly talented - but Maria’s and Lucy Gray’s style of singing are VERY different and for Rachel to almost seamlessly do both is amazing
İ need this version i need this
Search up "Nothing You Can Take From Me" bootstompin' version
Uaaa rachel zegler is really good this actress
Hard to believe the actress playing lucy gray would be snow white in the live action of snow white and the seven dwarfs.
God I have the biggest crush on Rachel Zegler😍😍😍😍 and her voice is just incredible
I love the ending 😁
go get it girl
❤❤❤
How could anyone possibly think Katniss is a better character than her?
They’re different. Neither is better than the other
Ok. Katniss is a hunter, a warrior, a scout, actually an intj acting like an istp. Lucy Grey is a performer, a charmer, a lover, a musician, a song-writer, a poet, a singer, an ENFP. They are different kinds of characters, personalities, with different temperaments. Katniss is rational whereas Lucy Gray is hyper-intuitive, feeling, empathetic, practically an empath.
you just listed all the reasons why lucy is better.@@geoffreyharris5931
they both have qualities that make them amazing. lucy was a performer and stood out to others. just as katniss was. they both have the same qualities expect obviously katniss was super cold.
Hey, she’s no Katniss, but I still found her likeable😊

I dont really like the Actress but her voice is really good gotta admit that 🤷♀️
Watched this film tonight and really really wanted her to just stop singing..every scene just her annoying songs.
That’s part of the plot of the book. Her singing & those songs. & how could you want someone with her voice to stop singing?
They literally cut out songs from the film that were in the book. It’s part of her charcter. She’s part of a band. There were more song in the book they didn’t even include.
