@@yoonahkang7384 In the book though, it´s quite clear that Snow is a bad, self-serving and controlling person from the start, even though he presents himself as sincere, level-headed and well-meaning to the rest of world in order to get ahead.
The potential these two could've had 😢

I love their story so much. Even though it didn't end well in the end, it was still an interesting ride. Though their fate in the end tells you how important trust is, perhaps, even more important than love. Like what Lucy Gray said.
The potential 😢 and it's sad that they cut many great moments between them in the movie, in the book they have sweet moments together 😢
The scenes of 1:20-1:25 and 2:46-2:59 are some of my personal favorite scenes in this movie, as for the first time Corio is getting a glimpse at just how bad the tributes actually have it.
Like when him along with the tributes get dumped into the zoo, Corio then goes on to say my personal favorite line of the movie from 1:20-1:25, “Lucy Gray Baird, may I introduce you to my neighbors.” I mean, the stare he gives before delivering the line, it’s like he finally understand what it’s like to be treated inhumanely. I personally believe at this time, Corio was ashamed to be apart of the capital, what they were doing, and the ‘morals’ they stood for. He wanted nothing to do with it, absolutely nothing.
Then in the scene from 2:46-2:59 where he follows Lucy Gray's every move, by kneeling down with her, talking to her on her level, even though she’s on the other side of the gate, trapped in a literal animal enclosure, for once in her life, Corio makes Lucy feel like she matters and is heard, and vice versa. He shared the only food he had with her, knowing that he would eat NOTHING that day. That in and of itself shows how much he cared about her. Also they never had their drink or dance together, makes me sad to think about what could’ve been.
Also, the part where the tributes and mentors are in the arena and an air raid happens, and Corio gets struck; Lucy Gray didn’t have to help him, but she chose to risk her life to help him, which also says how much she cares about him, and the impact Corio's words and actions had on her.
Corio was born with the good inside him, he just met Lucy Gray too far along in life, as he was already destroyed beyond repair, however, with all that being said, I do believe he did actually love and care about her.
Sorry, for the long comment, I just love talking about the small details that I noticed. Plus I need people to talk to about this AMAZING movie, as I am more than certain my family has had enough of me and this movie :)

@bellebelle689 yea I feel like she'd be watching her star pupil and once his infatuation became a complication for her (him leaving) she felt she had to save him by taking Lucy. Especially since lucy lost her mother when she was young so she probably wouldn't be disrespectful and leave his dead mother's scarf on the ground.

This edit is absolutely AMAZING!! Amazing! I’m not even gonna lie I took film and edit video production class before and this edit is peak editing. Amazing editing. The song choices and transitions. Wow I’m amazed and impressed. Hats off to the editor, I’ve seen many edits but this one is one of if the best Lucy Gray and Coriolanus Snow edit. I say this for a variety of reasons, but mainly because of what is beautifully portrayed at 4:27. The climax of the music with the editing is just peak. Great job
The way i cryed during this film changed my whole view at hunger games and Cornelius snow and i think he is so misunderstood character, and in the hunger games he's the villain but when you watch this then you understand why he was the way he was, at the end of hunger games 4 i looked at him differently and when i watched this i could see the connection between his older and younger self

Yes and no was more like Lucy determined but his friend Sanjus who he betrayed as well snow was betraying people he cared about for power little compromises to the point when he valued power over people yes he loved Lucy but when Lucy found out the truth she told him not to lie freaked out and ran snow got paranoid and shot at her she might be dead or not either way snow was going down a dangerous path like ANAKIN and PANAME sadly it was not going to end well but instead of him honoring her memory and becoming better he BURIED it and it led him more into power I heard about the movie I have to read the book but I want to know HAYMITCH story next😂

Respectfully, that wasn’t Lucy Gray’s burden to bear. There is no guarantee that Coryo would’ve turned out good under her influence. Once she put one and two together regarding how he betrayed his friend, I’m certain she saw him as a lost cause, in addition to the fact that he lied to her face when she explicitly told him not to. If he was willing to betray someone he knew much longer than herself, what is to say he wouldn’t have turned on her in time? Coryo did love her, but certainly not more than he loved power and control.

You could see the wrote me and the scary man in Mexico reading that made me think that I made them worse but in reality he made me kiss his girlfriend when I was drunk on mescal without telling me what it was . does anybody else think that despite how chaotic snow could be, and the fact that he lied to lucy about killing sejanus, lucy shouldn't have abondoned him because they could've been so much more and she could've led him out of his chaotic and evil tendencies into a peaceful life?? Also, if only he just explained to her that he didn't even mean for Sejanus to die then he wouldn't have lost the love of his life!
