Its pretty clear armor wars was shelved FOREVER. Marvel's done that a few times. They anounce something they were too ambitous for, and then when they realized they fucked up they like "whats armor wars? Never heard of it"
The Skrull that was pretending to be Rhodey deserves an Oscar.😂👏🏾🎬 I wouldn’t be mad if we had multiple “Iron Men” out there taking care of business! I really hope we get to see him , Pepper , Riri, and maybe even Iron Lad or Morgan come back and keep Tony’s legacy going !
A Secret invasion story can be very good, Avengers Earths mightiest heroes did a good job, also it's not a secret Invasion story but the LMD story from Agents of SHIELD did a phenomenal job with a similar concept
Oh yeah I didn’t wanna go off on a whole tangent but EMH has my favorite version of it! AOS’a LMD story is so peak and works really well to not undercut anything
I think Crimson Dynami already exists in the MCU, as Yelena mistakenly called Red Guardian by that name in Black Widow, and and Ivan Vanko's father, Anton Vanko, created the ARC Reactor with Howard Stark. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure Anton Vanko is the Crimson Dynamo in the comics. So... You can either have someone take up the mantle, or further explore the legacy of the ARC Reactor and of the Stark and Vanko families and show some Crimson Dynamo flashbacks. The connection between the Stark and Vanko families was so good in Iron Man 2, and it's why I love it so much more than the first film, which is pretty barebones as films go.
Yeah he definitely already exists and they basically turned Whiplash into a hybrid of him but just let someone wear the big red Armor. If the movie is exploring legacy, returning to the Vanko family would be a cool idea!
I wonder if someone took on that mantle & name since Ironman 2 & that's how Yelena even knows that name. I wish the MCU kept around their villains as part of the ongoing storytelling experiment rather treating them like threat of the week they kill off in each film; Red Skull showed how satisfying that could be. I'm imagining if we got Ivan Vanko back in the MCU.
For a very long time I checked out on the Secret Invasion tv show. I love the comic series but the show was really bad. I was very disappointed in what they did with Rhodey, but I kind of like a lot of your ideas about Armor Wars. I still think a series would be better because they can fit in more characters and more backstory elements that way but if the movie had the right script and it included Titanium man and Crimson Dynamo, I would totally watch it. Sorry I have fallen behind with your videos though I’m going to try and catch up with them more often.
So I have 2 ideas. First I agree with you. There is SO much setup for Armor Wars that goes nowhere if the movie doesn't happen. I was counting on Armor Wars to show us why the Rhodey Skrull reveal mattered to the overall story. It doesn't fix the Secret Invasion but it could give added meaning to it. The Sharon Carter tease at the end of Falcon and the Winter Soldier and the government seizure of Stark Tech by Damage Control were just that, subtle teases, seeds for future stories and to he honest that kind of subtlety of connection is what the MCU has been lacking in recent years. So my 2 ideas? Here they are. They both depend on how Thunderbolts ends.. please hear me out. If Thunderbolts ends with the team all (or mostly) intact and alive AND the team turned on Val,realizing that she has evil agendas they don't want to participate in,Rhodes could join the Thunderbolts. Hell, Rhodes could become the new leader of the Thunderbolts if say Bucky dies (because Bucky being the leader has already been publicly stated) Why would you want to do that? Because I'm assuming that Sam Wilson will lead the new Avengers. And now you have a situation where perhaps Sam and Rhodey have different ideas on how to handle Doomsday, ideas that result in their conflict as their team s follow their orders, the successors to Captain America and Iron Man. Not to mention that these two haven't historically seen eye to eye anyway as Civil War shows. It would make for a nice interpersonal dynamic between the two. My second idea is what if the Thunderbolts (or most of them) don't survive. Or even worse, what if they remain solidly in the control of Val? Rhodey now has a choice going into Doomsday. Does he throw in with Sam's team because he opposes what the current government backed team stands for? Because remember Rhodey betrayed the government for Team Cap in Infinity War but that wasn't really HIM! So we don't know if Rhodey is still solidly for the government in all things. Or would he be tempted to side with the Thunderbolts in their plans for how to handle Doom? I'm assuming that the two teams will some how some way come into conflict during Doomsday and just like with Infinity War, those conflicts will contribute to their loss going into Secret Wars. And Rhodey, after Armor Wars has gone in depth on his character and who he is and what he's about, would be a fantastic example of that conflict.
Honestly, I’m not a fan of Rhodey becoming the new Iron Man. YET at least. It feels way too similar to the Steve passing the Captain America torch plot they’re currently exploring. Keep him as War Machine/Iron Patriot, but give him a larger role. He’s a hero as much as Tony was, but he doesn’t need the name for that to work.
I like the pitch of the government being the antagonist and picking up on Sharon Carter being the Power Broker and her selling Tony's tech to Justin Hammer. Personally, I would expand on it slightly. I'd have Justin Hammer be the main antagonist, have the introduction to Arno Stark as a secret hand working for Justin Hammer while also dethroning Pepper Potts so that he could become the heir to Stark Industires, and have the introduction to MCU Norman Osborn. Norman would be here as a weapons manufacturer since in NWH we learn that "Oscorp doesn't exist". So, Norman would work at Stark Industires so that he could make enough money to start Oscorp.
Usually I would agree that deleted scenes are canon, but FATWS directly contradicts it by having him still pretending to be using the leg bracers so idk! It’s very confusing and ambiguous
You just gave the best fucking ideas ever for Rhodey’s future. I am intensely interested in EVERY idea you said. So many cool connections and paths to take. I also honestly like the idea of Ultron being the ultimate main villain more than I thought I would cuz at first I didn’t like it. And @trevor2001 made a great comment about how Mysterio’s colleagues are still out there too, it’d be funny to see some of them come back of that too. I also love the idea of bribing back Justin Hammer. Maybe they could do like Falcon/Winter Soldier and then Brave New World - Armor Wars show with Justin Hammer, then movie with Ultron. Love these ideas they’ll be canon in my heart from now on at least. Rhodey and Riri lead movie would be dope af! 🔥🔥🔥
All I can say is , if they bring that one kid from iron man 3 into vision quest. And let don cheatle pair up with him. It’ll be like another Tony and Peter type of relationship. And name the kid the pioneer. That’s who harry osborn is in ultimate spider man but it doesn’t fit him. I’d rather see it of the kid from IM3💯👌🏽❗️
5:10 "Anytime we've seen a studio backtrack because of fan outrage it has not turned out well" Yeah true it only lead to a successful trilogy of Sonic The Hedgehog films widely beloved by the public and fans alike
I dunno man, i really wouldn't mind them cancelling this, i really am hoping Blade doesn't get cancelled, but Armour Wars doesn't really interest me that much, especially after Secret Invasion
What would you title the movie? I feel like the general public wouldn’t know what ‘ARMOR WARS’ means; similar to how ‘The Marvels’ flopped due to a confusing title.
Instead of Ultron (he works better as an Avengers villain), I would prefer that Armor Wars villain (besides Hammer) to be Firepower. Much like in the Armor Wars comic, he could be established as soldier who recives an armor from Hammer is given the mission to kill Rhodes, after he being to hunt down those who have Stark tech. However, while Firepower starts as soldier following orders, he slowly becomes unstable and corrupt by the power his armor provides, to the point that, when he discovers that Hammer wants to create an army of Iron Men, he freaks out, not wanting to be replaced and, in the end, takes Hammer and his board members as hostages. So the climax could have Rhodes needing to save his enemy from this villain with technology of his late friend.
I don't know if I speak for anyone else or if it's just me, but I think the bits where you interrupt yourself with some "audience" noise are more annoying than funny. It feels forced when you "play" both performer and audience and it halts the video. Just thought I'd give some constructive criticism.
Ngl, I dont like how Riri just invented her reactor from scratch. Like, the only two people who figured out how to make an arc reactor (apart from her) had blueprints for the main reactor and figured out how to miniaturize it. Countless countries and companies with teams of brilliant scientists had tried and failed to reinvent it, only to fail. How does some college student just come up with it. To my understanding, in the comics she gets the blueprints and makes her own. I feel like they couldve done this in the MCU. Maybe make her have some connection to Rhodey so she can download the schematics of the war machine suit and its arc reactor, then she can use that to invent her own using the info. Maybe make her Rhodeys niece or something.
The projects don't have anything to do with each other beyond suit of armor. Both projects can be made, and IH already has and hopefully AW still will be.
Good points and ideas all around, but I don't know how you went through the whole video without mentioning Cap 4 once. Also I think Ironheart is getting quietly back burnered or shelved, due to her being the weakest part of BP2 and apparently the Ironheart show is either shelved or tracking to be as awful as Secret Invasion... There was a cast interview earlier this year and they all seemed to be not that fond of each other.
Please cancel it. Make a movie called Iron Man Legacy. We don't need another sidekick becoming the main hero, Falcon did that. It needs to be something fresh. It could turn out that the kid from Iron Man 3 has been building a suit, and after Tony's funeral he got the arc reactor from the lake. Give him a great origin movie and he could become the next Iron Man, with the same style of humour. We could see him build a tech business from scratch, and maybe go off the rails becoming alcoholic etc, it's the perfect way to tell new stories
One of the only shows I actually cared about and they want to cancel it? Why not cancel ms marvel, the marvels or Agatha all along. No one cares about any of them at all 😅
I think what ultimately matters is that there's a story there they strongly want to tell & that it's good. A lot of people didn't care for The Penguin before release & now people are calling it some of best TV this year.
@@gibbings5534 Same. Armors Wars always seemed promising to me since announcement & it's a story they didn't get to adapt for Tony.
This video makes me want them to make this movie!
I love this idea so much that it physically pains me to know this isn't going to happen.
lol the booing xD
A Secret invasion story can be very good, Avengers Earths mightiest heroes did a good job, also it's not a secret Invasion story but the LMD story from Agents of SHIELD did a phenomenal job with a similar concept
Oh yeah I didn’t wanna go off on a whole tangent but EMH has my favorite version of it!
AOS’a LMD story is so peak and works really well to not undercut anything
great pitch I like your idea!
Having Val as an antagonistic force in Armor Wars (had Armor Wars been released earlier) would have tied very nicely with the thunderbolts*
Absolutely based
Honestly, I’m not a fan of Rhodey becoming the new Iron Man. YET at least. It feels way too similar to the Steve passing the Captain America torch plot they’re currently exploring.
Keep him as War Machine/Iron Patriot, but give him a larger role. He’s a hero as much as Tony was, but he doesn’t need the name for that to work.
It was never gonna work as show we've seen it before I'd rather have noting the secret invasion
3:05 nah check the deleted scenes from falcon and winter soldier, kinda states that he became a scroll after endgame
They can just saw that show is non cannon since no one watched past the second episode.
Justin Hammer, Riri Williams, and Harley Keener should all be in this movie.
I sign under every word. Well, maybe except Rhodey becoming Iron Man, that is a debatable idea, but interesting nonetheless
All the tease and build up to this video has a lot to live up to
5:10 "Anytime we've seen a studio backtrack because of fan outrage it has not turned out well"
Yeah true it only lead to a successful trilogy of Sonic The Hedgehog films widely beloved by the public and fans alike
Design is different from story
and the somewhat better Snyder Cut of JL.
Ooooo I like that idea a lot! That would be a fun new villain to introduce with some themes the MCU hasn’t touched on
Call the movie War Machine
Why don't u just become the script writer that will be great
I don't know if I speak for anyone else or if it's just me, but I think the bits where you interrupt yourself with some "audience" noise are more annoying than funny.
Am I the only one who liked secret invasion?
They should make Armor Wars instead of Ironheart in my opinion
The projects don't have anything to do with each other beyond suit of armor. Both projects can be made, and IH already has and hopefully AW still will be.
Good points and ideas all around, but I don't know how you went through the whole video without mentioning Cap 4 once. Also I think Ironheart is getting quietly back burnered or shelved, due to her being the weakest part of BP2 and apparently the Ironheart show is either shelved or tracking to be as awful as Secret Invasion... There was a cast interview earlier this year and they all seemed to be not that fond of each other.
Now that RiRi is here, Rhodes is going to get sidelined so fast..
Movie would be bad. It's not movie material.
Sorry but adapting armor wars without iron man is just dumb.
Cancel ironheart instead
One of the only shows I actually cared about and they want to cancel it? Why not cancel ms marvel, the marvels or Agatha all along. No one cares about any of them at all 😅
No they should cancel it rn. Ppl don't really care about these projects they really want X Men or DareDevil.
Idk ive been looking forward to it for a while and alot of other people are too because they think justin hammer could come back as the villain
There's potential to introduce several Ironman villains, bring back Hammer, & finally develop Rhodey as a character with an emotional arc of preserving his friend's legacy.
It could be a great way to finally tie up all the hanging threads from the underdeveloped (imo) Ironman corner of the MCU.
