Ryan Day's Top-5 record takes a major boost. If Ohio State beats Notre Dame, Ohio Sate will be the only team in history to beat 5 Top-5 teams in one season.
Sure, but Day has had WAY more talent to start with. An Day has always DISAPPOINTED in the Biggest moments. CJ, Dwayne, an Justin are more talented than jus about any QB Saban ever had. Plus, the past 4 years with Shitigan, an especially this year's Game. This is what Day SHOULD have been doing, I love it if they win it all, but it's so disappointing the past 3 years.
@RiqueRico88 well Day has done a good job of making changes, to the defense, to the coaching staff etc. He has continued to recruit at an even higher rate than any coach before him. He has been 2 separate calls away from winning 2 natties before this
I was concered about Ohio St bringing in Will Howard this year. Wasn't sure if he was a fit and honestly I had heard very little about him for the mulitple years he was at Kansas St. That guy has grown on me and has become my favorite player on this team. Love him and I am excited for him and his team! Go Bucks!
I’ve been saying it for a long time. The Ohio State defense is what’s going to win the National Championship. Not saying that Notre Dame is gong to shut Ohio State down but the reason why they are here is because of Jack, Jt, Tylieke, and company
Sometimes it just takes time. Jack and JT have turned into complete monsters. Both 6’4, 6’5. 265-280. Can do everything. They are an integral part of one of the best defense in Ohio State history.
I agree that there are people that owe Ryan Day an apology. ALL of those dumba**es that threatened him and his family, totally unacceptable and disgusting!!! However every fan that was calling for his job may have lit a fire under his butt. Two irrefutable facts...this playoff run has been what everyone has thought was possible. Yes, offensive line issues hurt but running 19 times between the guards vs Xichigan was bad coaching. How do we know it was bad coaching? Chip Kelly hid from the media and press conferences for two weeks after THE game. Fact 2, we know these kids are tough! They're studs, they're a brotherhood like no other team in college football and they're incredible athletes...but 4 years ago Xichigan called Ryan Day soft and he has had his knickers in a twist vs them ever since. Instead of using superior athletes to maximize their talent like they have vs Tennessee, Oregon and Texas we saw 19 rushes for 18yds...and that's why the normal every day fan doesn't owe Ryan Day an apology. I very much like this playoff version of Ryan Day and Chip Kelly. Nobody likes that Xichigan game version of them...go ahead and debate me on it!!!
Glad Zach gave due credit to Will Power! Will is a great leader and the best QB in the payoff period. We are so blessed to have him as OUR QB! The way the whole team rallied behind him is amazing! Go Bucks!
Fact: Not nearly enough credit has gone to Donovan Jackson for literally ‘saving the season’ by stepping out to LT (arguably most important Position on Offense a/f QB) and not just doing ‘OK’ - actually has excelled at LT‼️💯👊🏼🏈🅾️
Two changes I have seen on the line of scrimmage, one each on opposite sides of the ball, that started against the Vols. First, our genius coaches finally woke up and stopped relying on zone blocking schemes, especially the Keystone Cop-like stretch zone plays. Second, out of nowhere our D ends started using much better hand techniques to get off blocks. Hard to notice things that have had a huge impact.
Downs had that arm tackle basically which saved a td vs TX. Crucial play. Tate, needs more recognition, starting after the ND game. They don't need to know about him just yet.
@Zach, Ryan Day is already a legend. He let down buckeye nation at the end of November in such a way the only apology that will work has to be delivered at the end of November. If he needs to run away to the NFL rather than face the dragon we need him to slay, well so be it. No apologies for "rabidly" wanting this One Thing to get done, but the man's effort is legendary.
Day is not owed an apology, maybe a tip of the hat for finally doing what he's paid to do with a top 3 roster and yearly promises of doing so. Please stop with the exaggerating. We are happy for him and proud but not apologetic for having expectations
There is being critical which is absolutely part of the gig and then there is freaking out and calling to blow up the program and fire Day. If you are in the former, cool…if you are in the latter, you’ve been embarrassed by your freaking out. Not sure what is difficult for folks to understand the difference.
It’s so exciting to be in this position. BUT WE’VE NOT WON ANYTHING YET. Remember 2002? Miami was a lock - unbeatable. Let’s not be Miami. I have confidence in this group of young men and coaches. Our program’s pedigree is unique. Let’s get it done. Austin is right, the story of this team (and Jack’s scoop & score) is only told if we finish. GO BUCKS!!!
90% of Buckeye fans HAS Not been calling for Ryan Day's job. This is so over blown. A large majority of fans are behind Ryan Day. This narrative where Buckeye fans are always wanting him fired is just not true. Period.
Very proud of the team for the redemption they achieved in the last three games. However, I don't want to hear it about Day needing to get his flowers. He and his staff absolutely shit the bed in the one game that has been circled in bright red for something like 130 years...and it was the 4th time in a row. Nobody will ever know the true cause-and-effect. However, I think a strong argument can be made that Dark Day didn't show up until the "lunatic fringe" started calling for his head on a pike. If that's what it takes for him, that's what it takes. Regardless, he has to get the team ready and come out like the Irish slapped our Mommas to close out a pretty darn good year. (It can never be a great year without winning THE GAME, but a pretty darn good year is absolutely the best they could do after that embarrassment in November.) Keep it going boys! So far, so good on the comeback. Go Bucks!
Why only take away good plays for context? Why not take away the penalties and non-calls also for context? I get it, the yards after catch falsely inflate the final stats but it’s not like Texas laid down and allowed it, they blitzed and paid for it. That’s football! Go Bucks!!

I don't have an issue with JJ getting shut down. I get that Texas can take that away if they put enough resources to it. My concern is that it was an extraordinarily effective strategy in shutting down our offense as a whole. If not for Trey's huge play (Not something you can count on game in and game out) this game is likely a loss.
3:42 say what you will Zac but if he doesnt win the natty it proves that exact point. He has a way better roster and way more coaching experience. Theres literally zero excuse if he loses this game other than incompetence.
Or players not executing and bad bounces... It happens that players lose games. Or fen that refs decide them. It's silly to suggest every loss is on the coach.

You obviously have never played football. So talent just wins out? Nothing else matters? Secondly, I could care less if we lose to the wolverines every single year as long as we win the chip. The college football landscape has changed. I guess you haven't noticed that. Do you think in the NFL the fan bases care if they lose to their nemesis provided they go on and win the Super Bowl? Rivalries will mean less and less as time goes on. We eventually will see a 16 team playoff format.
@@Dmb596I can’t believe this minimization of the rivalry has worked on a single osu fan. I myself never said to fire day, but it’s unacceptable. Yeah it might matter less in the landscape, so by that logic doesn’t it make even less sense they lost? It matters. It’s deeper than football. The beef precedes the rivalry, it’s part of both schools core identities. You can keep beating this drum if you want. Ryan Day is 45 years old his first head coaching job. Nick Saban won his first National Championship at 52 at LSU he’s second head coaching job.

Perhaps the reason Jack and JT are getting home lately is due to the coverage on the back end being a little tighter?
