When I heard that, I broke down into tears. I am disabled, and am so very grateful when shown kindness and compassion by others. Simply opening/holding a door open for me means the world to me. I realize there are those disabled individuals who might be offended by such acts, but for the rest of us who struggle with the simplest tasks, they mean so much
Or, the over-the-toilet seat-elevates the patient over the toilet and has the bars on both sides he can use to lift himself up (I am still using mine post shoulder replacement surgery).
Agreed even a shower seat and updating the top shower faucet into a hose faucet. Also if it's okayed by his doctor some compression socks and sock assists.
A lot of times, if you can get the doctors or social workers at the hospital to order one for him, they charge it to the insurance rather to have him pay out of pocket. If he is having a visiting nurse... She or he can order it for the gentleman too.

He needs a home health aide through the Medicaid Home Health Care Waiver Program. It’s free. It’s changed my life. I like to have a stool to use in the kitchen. Also, a grab bar or two for the bath/shower area. Thank you so much for doing this. I’ve cleaned for people for free due to mental and physical health disabilities. We need so much more of this ❤
You really care and that's for sure, in how you subject yourself to these filthy homes. You are one in a million. I wish I had family that cared that for us. I've never felt so useless in my life. My health is going down hill, I can hardly keep up with everyday things in my house. God bless you for all your kindness and hard work.❤🙏💯
I hope you can get the help you need somehow, Phyllis. I understand where you’re coming from (though I wish I didn’t). I am wheelchair/walker bound, so, am very, very limited in what I can do around my house. I dust, wipe down counters and fridge shelves-whatever I can reach. I need a cleaning crew in my home, but my husband keeps telling me we cannot afford it. I would try harder to reach and/or stand, but have been told I will be ok…unless I do something stupid, like fall. Extra long shoe horn! My dad loved his. He didn't have to bend over or ask anyone for help putting shoes on. It sounds like a small thing but dignity is important.
I am disabled; one of the things that has helped me as my symptoms have become more severe is sponge bathing on days I don't have the energy to shower or take a bath. I use Dr. Bronner's castile liquid soap deluded in water, there are instructions on how much to delude it and how to use it on the website. I'm not sure if this method would be more manageable for him or not, but I thought I would suggest it in case. I am so glad you are helping him. 😊
I understand where you are coming from. I was unaware of using Dr. Bronner’s by diluting it for sponge bathing (what I have to do every day). I will look that up. Thank you!
Another option for post op hygiene is disposable rinse-free shampoo caps and bath wipes. Medline is a brand I’m familiar with, but Walgreens has a generic kind too in the aisle with the mobility aids, compression socks, etc. The shampoo caps can be microwaved prior to using to make it more soothing too! The shampoo caps are great for special circumstances like post op or really bad days, it’s nice to have on hand if you are unable to bathe or get somebody to wash your hair. The bath wipes are way better than baby wipes bc they’re thicker, wetter, bigger, and better at doing a proper cleansing than just the standard baby wipe. Definitely a great thing to keep on hand.
you inspire me. i do the same thing for my dad, who struggles with alcoholism, on a regular basis. it’s nice to see others helping those who cannot help themselves
Two things that helped me so much after having surgeries which made it difficult to bend down to pick things up off the ground are: a grabber tool so you don't have to bend down to pick most things up and trash cans in every room, two in some rooms. Both made my life much easier.

Thank you so much for doing this. Our elderly are often forgotten or overlooked. And most people don't understand or realize how little income they have or the cost of medicine and medical care. (My parents are in that place now and it's infuriating). So thank you again. We need to value, respect and take care of them, they have so much to teach us

God bless you for your service to those who need the help. I love how you talk through your video and educate people whether it’s mental illness, elderly, or hoarders that caused the problem within their homes. You are their platform. Much love and prayers goes out to you. ❤❤
As an autistic and severely physically disabled person who of not for my country and families care could easily end up like this, thank you so much. From the bottom of my heart it means so much that there are people like you in the world who can look at a situation like this and say "they need help so I'll help them" instead of "how could they let this happen?" It genuinely means everything to me.
What a wonderful person you are. You have a good heart. It's so endearing to know someone like you is helping the elderly. God will bless you for your good and caring heart. ❤
You are an Angel on Earth. I hope you are influencing others to have empathy and compassion of this magnitude to go out and do this for even just one person (family/friend/neighbor/ someone in need). God bless the work of your hands, and your life with abundance that you so deserve ❤
I myself have a hard time cleaning due to mental health issues, so seeing peoppe who have it a lot worse makes it easier for me to clean. I feel so horrible for all these people, they dont deserve these issues
God bless you and your work!! You are so kind and unjudgemental! Would you ever think about making some long videos compiling all the cleaning videos from each house? You do do much I can’t tell where one house ends and the other begins!!
These disposable bed pads (have no clue how they are called) are great post surgery, to put on bed. Makes sure the sheets stay dry and clean, especially if someone is living alone and it might be difficult to change the sheets right away
There's an online service called Meal Train. When i was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, & was coming home from MAJOR surgery & starting treatment, people brought meals to my home & left them in a cooler by the front door. I mean STRANGERS!! t was SO incredibly helpful! My family had something to eat because they were angels & were too busy caring for me to try to figure out meals. It SERIOUSLY restored my faith in humanity ❤❤
Older people are always looking for any sort of item they can put on the shower floor so it's not a slip and slide situation. Grab bars you can mount you can find cheap sometimes at the hardware store, usually in with plumbing fixtures or even sometimes if you go to pharmacies if they have a disability aids section.
God Bless you!!! Over and over again! I’m older and know the “fear” the guy would be feeling as you fight to stay in your home. Plus he didn’t have any fight left at the moment. TY for getting him over the hump to hopefully brand new launching pad for freedom to stay into his home ❤
This is a super weird suggestion… but a rolling chair for the kitchen. HUGE help if he’s not using a walker but has trouble standing to cook or do dishes. Improves my independence a lot having a chair. A rolling chair is much easier to move
You go above and beyond. You are an angel helping people. I understand you are making money off of the post but the biggest take for me is you have a big heart.
You’re an amazing angel that God uses to do his works. May God provide for you everything that you need to continue to do the works that you do for others.
Wow just got super emotional. Yes he totally does deserve it. I've struggled at a few times in my life and it wasn't for ppl like you - gosh knows what my life would of looked like. You're an angel -again,a humbled thank you. 🙏🏻 ❤
A raised toilet seat is something very simple but it helps older folks out so much, especially after heart or ortho surgeries. Also making sure there are no slip or trip hazards like rugs or mats without rubber undersides is huge. Grips in the show/bathroom are good too but i dont know if that is within your ability to get organized on short notice.
Well I am now going to buy scrub daddy I have watched several of your videos they really do cut the grime I love cleaning and transformation and I think that it really is linked to your mental health you do work miracles!!
It’s just so amazing how you don’t charge for crazy cleaning like this !.also because he is a old gentleman he will most definitely need help cleaning his house like this love the kindness keep it coming!
I have done this before for elderly patients that I have taken care of for an at home Service provider. You never know if they have family members that have seen them or visited them in years ! Thanks for your service to our Elderly Community 😇❤️🩹😊
The biggest thing is to make it easy for him to put things away while still having ready access to community used items. Trash cans next to all the areas he spends the most time are important to help him throw stuff away in one area, esp after surgery. Switching to all cotton sheets will make it easier to get them fully cleaned, even if he has any accidents (food, bodily fluids, etc.). Having hospital pads on his chairs or even a cotton towel are a great way to keep his chairs cleaner. They can then be tossed into the wash every now and then or as needed. I wish my in-laws had an angel like you to get their home thoroughly cleaned and organized. P

YOU'RE SO SWEET! A CLEANING ANGEL!
God bless you and all your future cleanings!
You are an excellent human! Bravo
I feel so bad for the people that are living in these conditions 💔
I myself have a hard time cleaning due to mental health issues, so seeing peoppe who have it a lot worse makes it easier for me to clean. I feel so horrible for all these people, they dont deserve these issues
God bless you and your work!! You are so kind and unjudgemental! Would you ever think about making some long videos compiling all the cleaning videos from each house? You do do much I can’t tell where one house ends and the other begins!!
I absolutely love your kindness and generosity to help those that are less fortunate!
Man, I love how much you are about those who just can't anymore, and I left it at can't intentionally
You are an angel. Thank you for being so kind.
You are a God send if only more people just thought like you .
This world would be a better place
Well I am now going to buy scrub daddy I have watched several of your videos they really do cut the grime I love cleaning and transformation and I think that it really is linked to your mental health
you do work miracles!!
You are an angel, No one can convince me otherwise, you do so much for people in need
God bless you for your empathy towards this man, and people in general. You will be blessed by the MOST HIGH!🙏🏽
You are absolutely amazing. I'd totally help do something like this for people. (I don't have access to materials myself, but I'd volunteer my time.)
You could probably ask around, churches or if you have a local YMCA or something.
God bless you Ms. We need more people like you in this world
It’s just so amazing how you don’t charge for crazy cleaning like this !.also because he is a old gentleman he will most definitely need help cleaning his house like this love the kindness keep it coming!
Sometimes you don't have anybody to help and you just need a little help. You are doing something for him that really impacts his life.
I think you’re amazing in doing what you do for everyone. Xoxo
God bless you for all your love and kindness you do for those in need. May God bless you for all the blessings you do for others.
You are an angel for helping the elderly.
You're so amazing❤ bless you for giving him this massive gift of love and understanding and a clean & safe home to live in.
I plan to start doing this in homes around me once im older and these videos just motivate me even more to do it.
You are an amazing human being. May good karma pay you for all the work you do for people in need ❤️ wishing the gentleman a speedy recovery ❤️
