When you have good luck, Mario Party screws you over. When you hope that Mario Party screws you over, Mario Party somehow _double_ screws you over. It's amazing, really.
Seems like there's a bit of confusion on my play on the last turn of the video in the comments, so here's why I did what I did: - I didn't buy the Crystal Ball because I wouldn't have enough money to steal a star right away, and at the time, Daisy didn't have enough coins for a star steal/would've walked right past it. - The Item Bag can potentially have a Magic Lamp, which would've made the purchase worth it. - I didn't use the Warp Pipe to stop Daisy because it only had a 1/3 chance of working successfully, and if it did actually switch her, she would then probably get the star in Pink/Purple on her next turn. If I didn't switch with her, I'd be putting one of the guys in a better spot for the star, and would be guaranteed to lose my star. You can hear me debate using the pipe though, because I go "Ummmmmm" for a while before picking the mushroom. - The Shock Sticker can't be thrown like in later Mario Party games, it's dropped right where you're standing, meaning I couldn't force Daisy to lose any money before Boo. - The Mega Mushroom seemed like the best play, because it would guarantee me having to pay money at the roulette. If I got a low enough roll, the Star would be mine next turn, if I got a high roll, I might've been able to loop back. - 5 Coin Option on the Roulette would've been useless because landing on a Blue Space would give me more money than Chugga. - 10 Coin Option had a chance of sending me to where Chugga was, which if I crushed him, I would've regained my 10 coins, and still lost the star. - 20 Coin Option was the best option since it put me where the Star was, and if I crushed any players I'd still have less money than Chugga if I overshot the Star. At that point though, I wasn't aware it upped the odds on getting the star on the roulette because I thought it still had a predetermined chance of happening that wasn't affected by how much you paid. Still not sure on that. TL;DR Version - I was screwed no matter what play I did except for the one I went for, but the game didn't like it. -Jon
I do not know the lay out of the board so can anyone answer if it would have been possible to have gone to the top right and have enough spaces to stomp on daisy? I doubt but was just wondering.
Actually, Jon, the warp pipe isn't random. If you press A as soon as it is on the character after the one you want it to land on, it will spin over and land on the one you want it to land on. You have to time it right, but with a bit of practice you can manipulate the warp pipe spins every time :)
BlueMoonZerc On the blue quadrant of the board (the top right), you have to travel clockwise, so (from where the hand drops you) north, then east, then south. Jon had 11 spaces to go from the roulette, which would not have been enough to reach Daisy. Jon would have had to roll a 27 from where he started (4 to walk up to the roulette, 23 to walk on the blue quadrant) just to crush Daisy, which he could've done only with a Super Mega Mushroom, and even then it was a slim chance. BTW, it took me twenty minutes to find a picture of this board just to count that. GameFAQs has no pictures of the boards in this game in general or in the FAQs.
2:59 Why did they change it? Sure, for a Vegas-style board, it makes sense, but Chance Time is the better name. 5:09 It's pronounced Pew-deh-pi! 7:21 If it's an auto-lose for "Goomba rolls a 10," shouldn't it be an auto-win for "Goomba rolls a 1?"
You know what would had been so funny: Jon doesn't get the star space at the roulette. He celebrates and then got a hidden block with 20 coins. That would had been amazing.
When Jon said something about Waluigi it reminded me of the time I was playing Mario Kart with my mom and she mispronounced his name so bad it ended up sounding like "Lalawaliweegee" short story shorter she will never live that down and its brought up whenever its almost forgotten.
I don't think so. He won the 2nd best prize on the lottery, not to mention got to pick where to go and got back 20 coins, not to mention getting to pick where to go. (Although I don't know why he found that last one somehow bad this time when it's always good no matter what...)
J. De La Rosa The AI normally steals from the person in 1st according to the things with the character's coins and star counts on them, at least from a lot of people's experiences. Chugga normally gets the coin star, and he is stuck in an area which has a lottery along with free 10 coins a loop. As such... chances are he will get that by the end of the game. So things are looking down for Jon considering he won by 1 star for the most part... he has to steal from Chugga or....
All things considered, using the mega mushroom wasn't really a bad choice either. That way he made sure to lose 20 coins on the roulette AND get to the right corner of the board. He was just unlucky by rolling too high of a number to easily get the star next round + winning the 20 coins.
the reason for the repeat mini games is that this game was rushed. Nintendo wanted it out as early as possible. Thats why every board is metal platforms above a picture/model, there are fewer mini games than the rest of the series, and the animations arent that great.
Confused why Jon thought it was wiser to pay the 20 coins which raised the odds of him getting the star space when he could have just paid 10 to have less than Emile and also had a smaller chance to get the star space.
***** He actually planned to get the star the next turn, hence why he wanted a low roll. He used that mega to up his chances to get a roll high enough to get the wheel, whilst hoping it would not be high enough to cheat him out of the star.
5 Coin wouldn't have been enough because of Blue Spaces. 10 Coin had the chance of landing in the area that Chugga was in, giving me my money back and making the plan fail. 20 Coin at least put me in the area with the star, despite the overroll, but I don't think it ups the odds of you getting the star on the roulette, I think it's still the same random chance regardless (Up to that point, my experience with it was that you had a lower chance of getting the space because you basically paid to get the right area) -Jon

I can already think of an animation idea for Daisy possibly stealing a star while you were playing the Candle minigame. Just Emile and Job pushing each other or ramming each other's Go-Karts You're first No, YOU'RE first!
ok, I seriously can't get over just how mellowed out daisy is in this game. Like, pretty much every time after this, she's the loud tomboy princess everyone knows her as, but here, she's so... quiet. It's really jarring.
It wouldn't make sense, being out of context and all. (None of them have content aimed at said group along with baseless hate.) It is a matter of time before Chugga says it though, intentionally or unintentionally.
11:11 Jon could have... 1) switched with Daisy via the Warp Pipe, then used Boo to steal her coins and get her into sub-50 2) used the Zap item to make Daisy lose coins and get her into sub-50 3) hoped for a high roll and spent 10 coins on the biased lottery for lower odds of getting it back
Jon, you should have used your warp pipe and try to swap with Daisy so she wouldn't have stolen a star. Even I would have done that and I have the worst luck when it comes to Mario Party.
Mark Tuplin not in this game he has the worst luck. Get's 3 stars and a boo space in 1 round in toad's midway madness, gets 2 star hidden blocks in shy guy's jungle jam
12:41 Honestly, Chugga, if you wanted to see an example of Jon's bad luck, just watch his many moments of misfortune in your Mario Party 3 LP, ie Cheep Cheep Chase, not getting the item he wants, etc.
I think in this case it's Reversal of Fortune rather than Chance Time because the way the boards are set up it's fairly weighted towards the left side, especially the last one.
Interesting thing to note: When somebody goes to the Lottery Shop, all the other players on the board will turn around to watch the character playing at the Lottery Shop. Look at Waluigi starting from 1:38 and 1:55.
Emile's answer to every question that Jon asks about how he did something in a mini-game... "I don't know." I think he's holding something back from Jon secretly. :P
4:25 Goomba: Wanna try your luck at the Lottery Ball Game? Only 5 Coins. Waluigi: Gladly! I'm a ramblin', gamblin' dude! (turns the crank and gets a pink ball) Waluigi: Sweet! 30 Coins for me! Goomba: WHAT?! Who put that in-! Uhh, I mean congratulations! Now don't spend it all in one place. (There was suppose to be nothing but white balls in there! What gives? Somebody owes me 30 Coins!)
I was actually thinking Daisy would use the Warp Pipe to go to where Yoshi (Tim) is because he's the closest to the Star, or have Boo take Chugga's star instead.
On the Lottery Shop, a 1st prize is 100 coins, a 2nd is 50 coins, a 3rd is a mushroom (Super Giant Mushroom or Super Tiny Mushroom), and a "SORRY TRY AGAIN!" is nothing. The ball game is a yellow ball, a red ball, a blue ball, and a white ball. The yellow is 1st prize, the red is 2nd, the blue is 3rd, and the white is nothing. In the scratch ticket, it's either a 1, 2, 3, or "SORRY TRY AGAIN!". A "1" is 1st prize, a "2" is 2nd, a "3" is 3rd, and a "SORRY TRY AGAIN!" is nothing. Waluigi (at 4:44) got a 2nd prize (in this case, it was a ball game). He got the red ball. And so, he got 50 coins. Because a 2nd prize is 50 coins.
When you have good luck, Mario Party screws you over. When you hope that Mario Party screws you over, Mario Party somehow _double_ screws you over. It's amazing, really.
Or it just bails you out when you want it the least, for the latter!
"Jon, even when you are incredibly lucky, you still have shit luck." - Chuggaaconroy
The counter-star-stealing planning was amazing.
Too bad the game wanted Jon to have good luck =P
Seems like there's a bit of confusion on my play on the last turn of the video in the comments, so here's why I did what I did:
- I didn't buy the Crystal Ball because I wouldn't have enough money to steal a star right away, and at the time, Daisy didn't have enough coins for a star steal/would've walked right past it.

-Jon

And you warp with Yoshi, to get the star
BlueMoonZerc

That's exactly what I would've done. I completely forgot about the stars on the roulette though, so I didn't take that into consideration at all
It's not often that you'll see Chugga and Jon compete for who's not in first
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is called ironic luck.
Hi
"Ironic luck" should be a term in the dictionary, with a picture of Jon next to it :D
***** Because it's the internet.
*****
Because he's a successful countdown maker? Seriously, check him out if you haven't.
Oh hi rabidluigi big fan. Didn't know you watch this, and now my day has been made
At this point, any type of luck will come back to ruin your day.
Classic Mario Party, everyone.
True that
The irony in this is hilarious.
When reversal of fortune happens outside of Reversal Of Fortune.
True dat.
"Here he comes, Mr. Waluigi!" Brillant Jon, just brillant
Emile is good at that food minigame, because his name is Emile. confused? E-MILE=A-MEAL! HA!
Jon: Take my money, I don't want it at the moment, I'll just grab it later
Goomba: How about now?
Well, when Jon paid Goomba the 20 coins he DID say he'd pick it up later.
If Jon beats Tim to the star I quit life
What about Emile
I have no idea why, but its so much fun watching you guys play Order Up... I dont even know why.
*Insert Toad sad voice here*

Waluigi: feels like I'm wearing NOTHING AT ALL! Nothing at all. nothing at alllll....
Wario: STUPID SEXY WALUIGI!
I laughed so hard when Jon got the 20 coins back. Well played Mario party, Well played.
Well played indeed!
You know what would had been so funny: Jon doesn't get the star space at the roulette. He celebrates and then got a hidden block with 20 coins. That would had been amazing.
"And remember kids, stealing is wrong!" - Goomba at Boo's
ok, now things are getting more interesting. and it looks like the A.I is starting to catch up.
When Jon said something about Waluigi it reminded me of the time I was playing Mario Kart with my mom and she mispronounced his name so bad it ended up sounding like "Lalawaliweegee"
short story shorter she will never live that down and its brought up whenever its almost forgotten.
"Now. Say my name."
"Mr. DiePie."
"You're goddamn right."
Waluigi's luck might be running out now. With a princess, an ape, and a dinosaur competing against the purple punk, this Gala will truly be grand!
I don't think so. He won the 2nd best prize on the lottery, not to mention got to pick where to go and got back 20 coins, not to mention getting to pick where to go. (Although I don't know why he found that last one somehow bad this time when it's always good no matter what...)
***** Doesn't he have the coin star though? I think he would've lost that star no matter what because of that.
J. De La Rosa

Oh Chugga, your stupendous luck is hilarious! XD
Welcome to "Jon Can't Catch a Break 4!"
Except for the 3 hidden stars he's gotten among other lucky things that happen on a pretty regular basis
Can I get Chugga saying " OH WHERE YOU AT?!" as a ringtone?
Um if you do plz tell me how that would be awesome
Yay for the Waluigi beauty pageant!! XD
Whenever Jon has good luck, it's really bad luck, only ProtonJon.
jon should have used his warp pipe on his turn he may have switched with daisy and still had his star >_>
Yeah and he could've used Boo to steal some coins at that.
A swap with a profit.
All things considered, using the mega mushroom wasn't really a bad choice either. That way he made sure to lose 20 coins on the roulette AND get to the right corner of the board. He was just unlucky by rolling too high of a number to easily get the star next round + winning the 20 coins.
I didn't know the Bowser minigames were rare at all... I believe I had three of them (I could be mixing it up with others).
So... Waluigi has a boutique (Waluigi's Bridal Boutique) and pageant (Mr. Waluigi) now? n_n
the reason for the repeat mini games is that this game was rushed. Nintendo wanted it out as early as possible. Thats why every board is metal platforms above a picture/model, there are fewer mini games than the rest of the series, and the animations arent that great.

love you guys lol. jus started watching recently (stoned might i add) yall crack me tf up! lol thanks for the laughs
I'm so excited cause every mario party from this one and future ones are mario parties of my time and childhood

I can already think of an animation idea for Daisy possibly stealing a star while you were playing the Candle minigame. Just Emile and Job pushing each other or ramming each other's Go-Karts
You're first
No, YOU'RE first!
I don't know. Reversal of Fortune just doesn't have the same 'ring' as Chance Time. But that's just me.
My favorite of all the Mario Party's is Mario Party 5 excited for it, please play it.
Probably not for a while after this one, at least 2 or 3 projects after it, if not more.
I am here at goomba's greedy gala and this is not what I've expected.
The whole Waluigi pageant thing I'd love to see someone make an animation based around that idea.
This episode made me like Waluigi even more. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This one video was a true reversal of fortune.
ok, I seriously can't get over just how mellowed out daisy is in this game. Like, pretty much every time after this, she's the loud tomboy princess everyone knows her as, but here, she's so... quiet.
It's really jarring.
Emile, you can always use the terms "Hoofbump" or "Brohoof"
It wouldn't make sense, being out of context and all. (None of them have content aimed at said group along with baseless hate.)
It is a matter of time before Chugga says it though, intentionally or unintentionally.
I will say, the winning poses for Avalanche! are hilarious.
7:30 and now that reference to a (then) 6 year old lets play is now 6 years old itself
“Waluigi’s gonna take it! Take it for Canada!”
-ProtonJon, 2014
So we’re all in agreement that Waluigi’s Canadian now, yeah?😂
4:52 In Norway we call that dogging, and I've no clue what it means
Whenever Tim has a chance to win a mini-game or do something good, he always fucks it up.
Loving the steady updates and the series!
4:43 Waluigi looks really high.
11:11 Jon could have...
1) switched with Daisy via the Warp Pipe, then used Boo to steal her coins and get her into sub-50
2) used the Zap item to make Daisy lose coins and get her into sub-50
3) hoped for a high roll and spent 10 coins on the biased lottery for lower odds of getting it back
I like how everyone was surprised about Jon winning 20 coins after he'd bribed Goomba seconds before.
Can you imagine waking up to Waluigi staring at you, breathing heavily?
That fail luck was amazing.
I love how the Goomba in the Boo House says "Remember kids, stealing is wrong!" Like gambling isn't?
Jon, you should have used your warp pipe and try to swap with Daisy so she wouldn't have stolen a star. Even I would have done that and I have the worst luck when it comes to Mario Party.
Jon has the worst luck in the world. This is a wikipedia known fact
Mark Tuplin you look up bad luck in a dictionary and you see a picture of Jon
Mark Tuplin not in this game he has the worst luck. Get's 3 stars and a boo space in 1 round in toad's midway madness, gets 2 star hidden blocks in shy guy's jungle jam
nah, mario party is gonna bite him in the ass this board
Seems Daisy is really good at avoiding men who want to unload their wet stuff on her "candle" nerrherrherr
are you auditioning to be the 4th runawayguy?
sawoperationx07 Supposedly, JoshJepson is vying for that seat.
+CrypticNazo ...ew
CrypticNazo Ewwwwww!!!
Canadian Waluigi is the best Waluigi
11:48 looks like Jon's Mario Party 3 luck is striking back.
And Jon's luck bites him again
I was planning to say that Jon should have used the Shock Sticker, but then I read his explanation and was like "oooooh!"
I guess Chugga's glad they did Daisy on Hard.
12:41 Honestly, Chugga, if you wanted to see an example of Jon's bad luck, just watch his many moments of misfortune in your Mario Party 3 LP, ie Cheep Cheep Chase, not getting the item he wants, etc.
Never thought that I would hear a PewDiePie reference on TGR. :o
When Mr Waluigi says theres trouble comes a hand.
Chance time in Mario party 5 is called the round of miracles
I think in this case it's Reversal of Fortune rather than Chance Time because the way the boards are set up it's fairly weighted towards the left side, especially the last one.
1:16 stupid sexy Waluigi!
+KrutzMaster LOL!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Finally the first where you at. in this LP. Jon's luck might be in trouble.
For Canada!
Haha, the ONE moment where Jon had to be unlucky, he gets lucky. xD
Interesting thing to note: When somebody goes to the Lottery Shop, all the other players on the board will turn around to watch the character playing at the Lottery Shop. Look at Waluigi starting from 1:38 and 1:55.
Jon should've gone for the 10 coins offer instead to have a greater chance on missing the 20 coins roulette bonus
1:12, Waluigi with that sexy pose!
When Chugga said "His pose is-" My youtube crashed.
I guess you can say Jon's luck is REVERSAL!
Emile's answer to every question that Jon asks about how he did something in a mini-game... "I don't know." I think he's holding something back from Jon secretly. :P
Daisy leaving chugga alone. Thats so nice of her. and also jons luck
4:25
Goomba: Wanna try your luck at the Lottery Ball Game? Only 5 Coins.
Waluigi: Gladly! I'm a ramblin', gamblin' dude!
(turns the crank and gets a pink ball)
Waluigi: Sweet! 30 Coins for me!
Goomba: WHAT?! Who put that in-! Uhh, I mean congratulations! Now don't spend it all in one place. (There was suppose to be nothing but white balls in there! What gives? Somebody owes me 30 Coins!)
10:31 - *THE BIGGEST LOSER* (of money)
I was actually thinking Daisy would use the Warp Pipe to go to where Yoshi (Tim) is because he's the closest to the Star, or have Boo take Chugga's star instead.
Chuggaa said "shit" and he didn't stutter. Everybody celebrate. Chuggaa can swear!
9:45-9:54. Go Daisy!
Jon: The unlucky lucky guy.
I LOVE YOU GUYS!@JillyCraft64 i post this Link on Twitter!
I managed to get all the Bowser Mini-Games on my first playthru of the game. So much for super rare games. Idk, it was probably just my luck lol
6:10 That food is making me hungry but it's 8;19pm...
Am I the only one hoping for a Bowser minigame next episode?
Nope, I want one too!
Once again, Jon's luck everyone... Jon's luck. Also, if anyone should create Waluigi's first solo game, it definitely should be Jon. Mr. Waluigi. X'D
