    Nice job! Observations: use period correct screws, wood plate new, I think the handle should be wood too

    Vintage, but here that thing is still common everywhere. I don't know if that's because we're poor or we just need a constant need of shaved ice. It's perfect for tropical country that consist of 2 seasons, hot and hotter.
    Seeing this shiny ice shaver is greatest thing ever, great job!

    Protip. Heat the bolts up HOT.. Cherry red hot. Then let them cool. The heat breaks the corrosion that has them stuck.

    Neat to see an old saw mill blade being re-used. That's what the zig-zags on the blade are. Old saw mill blades are often remade into decent knives, and here is one razor sharp.

      Hammered iron effect. Not a fan of the look either. Spent all that time filing down imperfections to only cover them up with "imperfect" painting effect. Also wondered about the shaving turntable and plate. That looked pretty disgusting even after the restoration.

    • @_sean_294
      @_sean_294 3 года назад +2

      @@myitbos1335 yeah, the plate and wooden turner looked really gross. i wish he would have restored those as well. i like the hammerite / hammered iron effect, but its only really good on certain things - a carnival ice shaver is not one of them.
