    Hey Scott loved the video! I just wanted to float an idea to you. It’s been proven you can shoot the edge of a sword or axe and split the bullet. I haven’t seen anyone try that yet with an elephant gun(your nitro expresses). Neither have I seen it done with 500 of 460 s&w. It’d be fun see you get a two for one on your nacho cheese! You also sold me on underwood ammo with Lehigh defense penetrator, it’s now what I carry in my sidearm when hunting in Idaho wilderness.

    • @pewpewTN
      @pewpewTN 2 года назад

      Pretty much the same thing as shooting brass cases.
      It just blows open the case & slings the powder out.
      You might be able to make them go off if you laid them down with the primer facing the shooter, but rounds that go off outside of a barrel are pretty much just fire crackers.

      I don't know if it's still around but Pedersoli made a two barreled "Howdah" pistol in .45/.410 with rifled barrels. Not as powerful but the recoil would be a lot more manageable so you'd be more likely to shoot it more than once;).

      Shockwave doesn’t work I’m saying a double barrel and we can’t sbs in NY so it would have to be set up as a firearm. I’ve seen the howdahs and they’re interesting but with a rifled barrel they’re kind of pointless for 410 and they’re real expensive for what they are

    I've messed around a lot with shotguns, firing all types of ammo...be it slugs, buckshot, birdshot, and turkey loads. I swear, the turkey loads kick the most, by far. I don't know exactly why, but I think it is a combination of full charge powder loads combined with the largest weight of shot. If you think about it, buckshot loads have a lot of airspace in the shell because the larger projectiles cannot pack very solidly...
    Or maybe that isn't the reason, but if you doubt me, take a lightweight pump shotgun and fire a 3" or 3.5" turkey load through it. They beat the crap out of you.

    • @gearjammergamer8560

      I have a synthetic stock 3.5" Supermag 870. I have shot elephant rifles of all weights and calibers. Multitude of weights and loads out of .458, 416, .375. Nothing and I mean nothing comes close to the recoil of a 3.5" 2oz turkey load out of that 870. I had a buddy tell me once there's no way it recoiled harder than hot rod slugs. I gave him one 2 oz load. When it went off his sunglasses flew off his face and he turned and looked at me with the WTF!!! look.

    • @Grover91

      @@gearjammergamer8560 A buddy of mine has a lightweight .300 Win Mag he uses to hunt moose and elk. He was going on and on about how the recoil is almost intolerable. He had me shoot it, and yeah it kicked a bit, but I would say it was less than half as punishing as 3" turkey loads out of my Remington 870. They are absolutely brutal.
