@@tonyevans2088 Only 3 weeks. It was a bike accident, a pretty bad one but I luckily only had a minor elbow fracture so that's why only 3 weeks. And since I only had it for 3 weeks the recovery was much faster so I had full mobility back in maybe like 5 days or so. If you had the cast for a longer time it's gonna take longer to regain your mobility but you really gotta do the exercise. As much as you can, multiple times a day maybe every like 1-2 hours or so and try to rest your hand in a more flexed position it's not comfortable but it's going to help you regain the mobility much faster than if you were sitting or laying down with the arm bent.
@@xtherealest Thanks so much for sharing! Same for me, something came loose in my bike, started to swerve, hit the breaks, and was thrown off. Got a radial head fracture (same for you?), a concussion (wake-up call to always wear a helmet from now on), many bruises and nerves SHOT lol! lady who witnessed it said my neck twisted in a very strange way so I think it could have been a lot worse - scary! The doctor said I should keep the cast on for 2 weeks, still v.painful but want to regain full extension asap. Some people say to start moving it sooner but it is impossible with the cast on, will follow his orders I guess. Glad you're recovered and doing well - not a fun experience but has def put things in perspective!
@@tonyevans2088 Haha I also had a radial fracture it was pretty much the same for me. But I was wearing a helmet you should've too I bruised my face a lot but I didn't get a concussion because of the helmet, that definitely saved me. The bruises were probably even worse than wearing the cast, I was bruised all around my body I couldn't even sleep at night because however I laid down I was laying on the bruises and it was terrible the first nights I barely slept. You should be glad you're even alive since you weren't wearing a helmet dude. Be careful with that the next time. What I advise you do at least a little bit since you can't move your arm with the cast try to move your shoulder at least a bit so you don't lose mobility in the shoulder too and move your fingers around so you get blood flow in them but the docs probably told you that. I also had I don't know what it's called in english but when it's not broken but it's damaged from the impact I had that on my hip and I almost couldn't walk the first couple days it was crazy. I'm glad both you and I didn't end up worse that that. Do the exercises and trust me you'll have full mobility in no time. Stay strong brother and wear a helmet next time it really ain't no joke it would be a different story probably if I didn't wear a helmet. I still had my face wrapped in bandages because I was bleeding from the injuries but I atleast didn't die lol
Thank you for thr great elbow exercises. Very helpful to me! I can’t get into Physical Therapy for a few weeks either but my surgeon said to start moving my arm. 😊
Thank you for these exercises. You gave us hope that we can regain back what's loss to us 😊. I am almost 1 month post operation. I can now move my arm without the sling. Thank you
Thank you so much for this video! I dislocated my right elbow 10 days ago and just came off the cast and my arm could barely move and lots of swelling. I followed your instructions and felt so much better ❤ and so much more confident on the rehab journey ahead 🙏
This has been valuable dislocated my elbow, broke my radial head, corenoid tip and my ligaments repaired its been 2days now after the Doc gave me go ahead to train the elbow this has helped me a lot.
I did these exercises as soon as my bandages came off. They really helped me regain my mobility. I was ahead of the game when I began physical therapy. I have regained almost full range of motion and I believe starting exercise and therapy quickly was key.
congratulations! i feel like it's taking very long, i am two months from surgery. as a reference, how long did it take for ou to regain mobility? for me it's the flexion and stretching of the elbow which really annoys me.
@@anne-mariesvennberg9840 I'm certain it's different for everyone. My bandages came off in about 7 to 9 days and that's when I began using these exercises. I started physical therapy 2 weeks later. I remember being two months out of surgery and being frustrated that I wasn't back to normal. It takes more like 4 to 6 months. I never gave up and continued exercising after I finished physical therapy which took 3 months. I have always liked going to the gym and resumed my regular workout, incorporating some of the physical therapy exercises. Good luck. You can do this!
Thank you for this video, after my cast was removed last week I still have to wait for my physio follow up for another two weeks. I will be following your exercises while waiting. I already tried your session, feels good.
This is incredibly invaluable. Thank you so much! So pleased that I stumbled upon this little gem of a video. Suffered a type 3 radial head break yesterday and these exercises are already helping with stiffness of the elbow. Thank you ❤️👏
Thanks alot! This helped me bring more flexibility to my left arm since my cast just came of yesterday. You have earned yourself a like a sub! Keep up the great work!
"1000 kisses" from Germany. The way you show us how to act exactly by doing it for your own "at the same" time in such a postive mode turns me from sadness to happyness and thankfulness in a few minutes. Probably my fractured ellbow will be better after a while of exercises than before (my accident). 🤭😉
I fractured my elbow 11 days ago and was very briefly in a plaster cast. Then my elbow was pinned and wired. Thanks to the brilliant Spanish Health Service. I am 83 and on holiday from England. There is a reciprocal agreement between the English health sevice and those of the EU. So no bills to pay. You video is being incredibly helpful and each day I find I have a little more movement and a great deal more independence with normal daily activities. Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for this video. I was hit by a car and landed on and fractured my olecranon. I’m now 6 weeks post surgery and have been instructed to start moving my arm again now and this video is really helpful.
I needed a second surgery after 6 months because my elbow had become so stuck (4 months of aggressive, agonising physio could only get so much movement back). It should never have been immobilised after the initial surgery. I returned to work full time a year post accident and my arm now functions. I’ve lost some range at the end of flexion and extension but it’s good enough. Moral of the story? Early mobilisation post surgery! I hope your recovery goes well.
I wish I had found you 2 weeks ago. I dislocated my elbow almost 3 weeks ago. The dr didn’t give anything but vague answers so I have been hunting for something like this. I’ve done this video 3 to 4 times a day for 2 days and am actually already noticing better movement. Any tips of you feel like you have a knot in your bicep?
Michelle, these are pretty much the exercises my PT's gave me for my broken elbow. I was getting quite frustrated/impatient at my elbow still being bent after a month. I know it takes time to heal...that is what got me into this mess in the first place! LOL Your video gives me a friendly face to work with me on the way to recovery, and a few extras like where to place the other hand to help move arm...with the visual. I can do the exercises my wonderful PT gals gave me,. But having a visual person to encourage...and you really look like you have an elbow issue,... keeps me focused daily between PT visits. Thank you for this video!
Amazing video and program! Fractured my left radial head after slipping in ice and have been doing these exercises at least 1x a day for the past 4-weeks and have almost 90% recovery! Would love to see another follow-along program that is a bit more advanced for people to follow!
I had the same injury too. Fell down after slipping on a slippery rocky ground. I am 6 weeks post-surgery but my flexion is still at 90 degrees. Extension and supernation is a lot better.
I’m starting today after getting my cast off. :’) slipped in the ice as well and I was so surprised when the cast came off and I couldn’t straighten my arm. your comment gave me a lot of reassurance that it’ll get better!! Thank you!!
I had the terrible triad of a dislocated elbow, fractured radial head and torn ligament. I was surprised that my cast was taken off after 2 weeks. I've been doing your exercises and can see an improvement. 🙂
This is really great, thank you. It’s been two weeks since the dislocation and it became apparent that my range of motion was very limited due to stiffness. I’m wondering: 1. how often should I do these exercises per day? 2. Does the time spent with static elbow movement earlier on limit the full range of movement later on?
I have started PT, i dislocated my elbow and have a small fracture on the radial head, i am wondering why my elbow kind of locks and cracks on the inside part of my elbow? It hurts when it cracks.

Hi Maam, i have small fracture at olecranon in the right hand on last month. Doctor removed the cement bandage today only. Shall i start physiotherapy exercises from now or do i need to wait for 1 month?
Thank you for this! I’m 6 months out from my osteopathic surgery on my humerus(split up the middle from landing wrong in an accident). I’m scared of my tricep. Probably irrational, but I feel like if I really try to push that tricep to extend my elbow, that I will hurt myself somehow. Do you have tips or logic to help me get through that or better gauge how far I can push myself?
Hi Mme ,firstly Thnks a lot for those valuable exercises ,whowever I had a dislocate in the elbow (radial head) since 6 months, I made several sessions of rehabilitation (50)with my physiothérapy I suffer enormously I guess that it is irreversible unfortunately, what you suggest as solution please (without surgery )
@@amritsidhu3918 frankly ,in very slow average , stifness and pain is always present ,a radial head prosthesis will be the next and the last option unfortunately, I don't want to do it at all
How soon after a fracture can I begin these exercises? I am 9 days post radial head fracture. Ortho said everything was lined up perfectly. I asked if I could just use the sling instead of the splint and he was ok with that. So sling for 7-10 days and he said just do stretches. I was ok'd for keyboard and mouse work as well. I do not put any weight or pressure on my arm, but many things just make it sore. I want to regain my range of motion because I am a weightlifter, but also don't want to get too far ahead of myself with exercises right away. Is it ok to start these now but not add pressure or is the pressure ok?

Hi, did you have a sensation of burning while during the extension or supination exercises?
Thanks you soo much for these videos, they have been super helpful in my recovery
Thank you for these exercises. I broke my wrist and elbow 3 weeks ago, and these have been helpful.
Great video! Easy to follow routine with all the exercises needed for basic movement recovery.
How is your Rehab?
@@henrygaudart7557 my supination and pronation are almost back to normal.. flexion still can’t pass 90 degrees much .. extension is a bit better
@@haiying7993 yeah i fractured my elbow 20 days ago and my flexion is still kinda bad. .. courage !;
@@henrygaudart7557 keep working on it.. although very small improvement but I do see improvement:) good lucky with your recovery ❤️🩹
Did you guys undergo surgery? I had radial fractured elbow. But mine i refuse to undergo surgery. I hope my elbow will back to normal
Thank you very much a few months ago I broke my elbow and this video helped me a lot 😊
Glad it helped!
Thanks, this is more detailed than others I’ve seen. Hoping that early intervention will reduce recovery time.
I had a fracture in my elbow and shoulder and this video was very helpful for me thank you very much
Thank you for this video, after my cast was removed last week I still have to wait for my physio follow up for another two weeks. I will be following your exercises while waiting. I already tried your session, feels good.
You're welcome! You can do it!
Thank you veryuch for the video I just had my ulna surgery few days ago
Thank you for exercises. I am after elbow dislocation. After three weeks in a splint I have to move my arm. This video is really helpful.
For pronation/supination I also hold a small dumbbell (1lb) by its end to help get the movement a bit further.
Hi!
Do you have a video when the Eilbow have been dislocated?
Thank you soo much you angle…with only first session miracle happened to me so much love ❤

This is incredibly invaluable. Thank you so much! So pleased that I stumbled upon this little gem of a video. Suffered a type 3 radial head break yesterday and these exercises are already helping with stiffness of the elbow. Thank you ❤️👏
how are you doing now?
Did you undergo surgery?
Post Op 3 weeks, excellent advice, I tried this and it works well. Thank you.
Great to hear!
Thanks alot! This helped me bring more flexibility to my left arm since my cast just came of yesterday. You have earned yourself a like a sub! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for your videos on elbow exercises .
"1000 kisses" from Germany. The way you show us how to act exactly by doing it for your own "at the same" time in such a postive mode turns me from sadness to happyness and thankfulness in a few minutes.
Probably my fractured ellbow will be better after a while of exercises than before (my accident). 🤭😉
This is great to hear! Keep us posted on your progress!

I broke my elbow and had been not working it so it got really stiff but I’m working with it now and I’m getting better ❤
How is your elbow now? Mine is extremely stiff after staying in cast for 5 weeks and 2 surgeries
This has been VERY helpful. Thank you
I fractured my elbow 11 days ago and was very briefly in a plaster cast.
I wish I could do all that, but my problem is I am currently having a plaster covering my whole arm, and my fingers are not moving at all
Thank you again Michelle from Philippines ❤
Thank you family continue the good work ♥️ 💯
I had Elbow surgery for an injury, 3 weeks ago.
All of your videos including this one, are so helpful- thank you

What about Olecranon fractures? After surgery
Thanks so much for this video. I was hit by a car and landed on and fractured my olecranon. I’m now 6 weeks post surgery and have been instructed to start moving my arm again now and this video is really helpful.
Same thing just happened to me :( was on my bike. How are you now, 1 year later?
I needed a second surgery after 6 months because my elbow had become so stuck (4 months of aggressive, agonising physio could only get so much movement back). It should never have been immobilised after the initial surgery. I returned to work full time a year post accident and my arm now functions. I’ve lost some range at the end of flexion and extension but it’s good enough. Moral of the story? Early mobilisation post surgery! I hope your recovery goes well.
@@sabinacook2239 thank you! Sorry you had a rough time, Thanks for responding.
I wish I had found you 2 weeks ago. I dislocated my elbow almost 3 weeks ago. The dr didn’t give anything but vague answers so I have been hunting for something like this. I’ve done this video 3 to 4 times a day for 2 days and am actually already noticing better movement. Any tips of you feel like you have a knot in your bicep?
thanks gorgeous !!!! it helped a lot this is day 3 and improvements are crazy
You are awesome. Thank you so much! Looking forward to getting past this injury!
Amazing video, thank you so much.
I absolutely hate doing this, but the results are undeniably good. Thank you
Such a great routine. It's helping me improve at the moment.
A Question please : Any recommendations for the rest time between session?
I would also like to know this! Sling? Try not to use the sling? Elevate? Hot or cold?
Amazing video and program! Fractured my left radial head after slipping in ice and have been doing these exercises at least 1x a day for the past 4-weeks and have almost 90% recovery! Would love to see another follow-along program that is a bit more advanced for people to follow!
Thank you for the suggestion and I agree I need to put that on my list!
@@khairuladli9345 how are you now, I am 8 weeks post op extension is better but flex still stuck at 90 degrees :(
Thanks for the exercises I broke down just above my elbow and I have a damaged rail and possible medial nerve do you have something to help that with
These are great exercises. Start doing them to release the muscle stiffness, otherwise, it becomes more painful later.
Thank you for beginners exercise but my point is I have severe shoulder pain so I can do this exercise
This is really great, thank you. It’s been two weeks since the dislocation and it became apparent that my range of motion was very limited due to stiffness. I’m wondering: 1. how often should I do these exercises per day? 2. Does the time spent with static elbow movement earlier on limit the full range of movement later on?
Hai maam tnxs for this video im start to watch this now..im. i also have fracture and dislocate elbow
Thank you 🙏
Thankyou. Helpful me recovery
Thanks madam, I will try from Tanzania
I have started PT, i dislocated my elbow and have a small fracture on the radial head, i am wondering why my elbow kind of locks and cracks on the inside part of my elbow? It hurts when it cracks.

Hi Maam, i have small fracture at olecranon in the right hand on last month. Doctor removed the cement bandage today only. Shall i start physiotherapy exercises from now or do i need to wait for 1 month?
Great exercises
Great video, which one do you recommend to do after this one?
Thank you for this! I’m 6 months out from my osteopathic surgery on my humerus(split up the middle from landing wrong in an accident). I’m scared of my tricep. Probably irrational, but I feel like if I really try to push that tricep to extend my elbow, that I will hurt myself somehow. Do you have tips or logic to help me get through that or better gauge how far I can push myself?
Thank you for this video
thank you very much! excellent!

@@roopaaaaaaaa I'm learning to live with it, i decided to never come back to the operating room again !
Great video thank you!
Is it ok to start these now but not add pressure or is the pressure ok?
very helpful thank you
