*Coal Chamber* was one of the first bands that made me interested in *"NU Metal"* back in its prime days.
Same. They opened up the doors for sure. And I was so happy when I learned that Dez started a band called DevilDriver, they've achieved great success since 2007 and are just about, or just did drop a new album this year.
The best Nu Metal band
One of the few Nu Metal bands I like
Saw them on Dark Days tour before they split. They were cool, Migs was just looking down back then, Dez was telling him they should hang out and go to Star Wars Clone Wars, which was in theaters then. They all hung out and signed shit for hours with their fans. First time I shook Dez' hand. Met him three times in my life.

@@LeadMe2TheBliss There is no news on that at all. Coal Chamber is pretty much finished, and good riddance.
They were pretty much the quintessential example of generic, unambitious, lazily compositioned nu metal.
@@alsybroth Have you saw them live before though? They used to be such an incredible live band! I saw them live twice in the early 2000s and they were brilliant live! Every nu metal fan should see them live they would love it!

It was them and Korn that I first heard of before the big Nu-metal craze in the mid to late 90s.
Theyre last album showed such great potential and now with all these other bands like static x, mudvayne all coming back. It wouldve been a helluva tour

Saw them yesterday, GWAR, Coal Chamber, and Mudvayne all fucking killed it!!
I definitely prefer Coal Chamber to Devildriver.

I've always wanted to know why the LA nu metal scene had such a dress and hair style. Was it a hangover from the hair metal bands like Motley Crue. The photos from System of a down, Coal chamber etc. The band members of LA bands often had fishnet tops, multicoloured hair bondage gear etc. where did that come from? The look became a signature of NU metal. #garzapodcastclips #coalchamber
Nu metal bands never dressed like hair metal bands.
It was mostly synonymous with what people call “mall goth” now - that sort of gothy, vaguely metal look that was pretty popular in the 2000’s. Think fishnets, band shirts, Tripp Pants, New Rock Boots, Matrix-style leather trench coats etc. A real mis-mash of inspirations made accessible through Hot Topic and online retail.
It came from rich kids ripping off the style of poor street kids and making it into a mall goth trend.
I think it had more to do with the hip hop side trickling in and the raver side trickling in along with a lil goth as well. Then it just became it's on thing

@@MrParkerman6 Mike works full time in construction, and as a session musician, and Rayna is a mother of 3, and born again Christian. I don't know if she's still married to Morgan from Sevendust though.

Well Dumb, yes it is!
Both bands are good but yeah they stepped up with Korn but too much partying catches up with you not for a day for rest of your life I'm just I got a second chance and Coal chamber kept me out of trouble and devil driver is a pretty decent band but loco will be stuck in your head for life I like the song sail it's fun to play on guitar

My biggest regret with Coal Chamber was listening to Coal Chamber.

She settled down and turned her life to christ from what I read. Probably never see or hear from her again
She was absolutely smokin’ back when she was in the band.
She married Morgan Rose in like 2000, left Coal Chamber after _Chamber Music,_ and became a mom three times over, and born again Christian. Last I heard she doesn't play music anymore.
Running a horse farm in Montana last I heard.
