      Not sure exactly since it wasn't stable. I think it's in the range of 20-30mV, however. Not that much but enough to make it unstable with this CPU.

    • @eXpowerG3046
      @eXpowerG3046 Год назад +1

      Thank you very much, in fact I tried and, in my case, it turned out to be an offset of 25 mv on Svid . I went back to 0.01 mohms but at the same time I had to lower CPU ratio to 57x when 4 cores are active, 56x for 6 cores and 55x for 8 cores. Now the system is stable but above this ratio I just can't go up and when I try there is a significant performance decay. Thank you again for the time you have dedicated to me.

    Hi I have an 14700k with gigabyte z790 aorus pro X and 96gb 6600mhz with 32, 39, 39, 76. I have problems with one of the components during heavy loads or quick loads. When I use latest bios settings with default settings (even xmp not on) cpu runs 100c and I get power limit throtteling, Curent EDP limit, and thermal throtteling. It’s weird that I get it with base settings? All settings is on auto…? But when I put cpu v core 1.35v and activate performance mode on cpu all this 3 Abow dissapear and cpu runs at 85c max in cinebench24 and I get 2030 points. But I still feel something is wrong when I play games, it doesn’t feels smooth.. + my latency jumps from 3-5ms to 60 ms. And I get fps drops from 240 down to 130 for a short time. What’s causing this issue? Is it wrong settings in bios or is the something wrong with the cpu? Ram?

      @@SkatterBencher yeah I don't think anyone really knows. The consensus at the moment appears to be that the ring bus is defective, it can't handle the number of cores and the high clocks/voltages. There might still be an oxidation issue but Intel claims that's been totally corrected.

      @@SkatterBencher I guess from the fact we don't appear to be seeing the issue anywhere near as much on low voltage mobile and server chips means it must be something to do with the high voltages on high end desktop so limiting this probably helps but at the same time reduces performance so Intel is trying to balance not getting sued for reducing advertised performance too much vs not having a 100% failure rate on pretty much every CPU without 12-18 months of use!

    Hey! Thanks for your video. Although much of this is over my head, I was able to use your simple approach to the bios OC and under volt. Do you think I could try pushing it further, or should I just keep your settings? I essentially copied your exact method and my system has been completely stable for a few days. My temps do get pretty high when I am stress testing, but I don't know if that's avoidable with a Corsair aio. I set the cores exactly as you have them in the simple overclock. Do you think I could push those values or just leave them be? Thanks!

    Hello there, this is a truly awesome guide! However, I am having issues with my 14700k (SP 74, cooler 188, asus z690 itx w/ latest BIOS) with your #5 settings that I copied as is. with the setting it would pass the OCCT and other stress test with no issue and temp is under 95C, however when I started to run computation work which roughly requires 70% of CPU load I would constantly get BSOD (clock watchdog timeout). I then lowered P core speed from 62 to 60 then to 59 (4x59, 2x58, 2x57), and increased LLC to 5, temp was fine but still getting the BSOD after 1 hour or so. May I know what I should do next? could it be the V/F point 11 offset of 0.035 to much? could it be the ecore having issues? I would really appreciate your help... Thanks so much!

    • @SkatterBencher
      @SkatterBencher  11 месяцев назад

      It's hard to diagnose remotely, so the usual caveats apply. It could be a couple of things.
      1) E-core is a good guess and easy to check by reducing the frequency.
      2) I'm assuming you also run OCCT with AVX2? If not, then compilation sounds like it would rely on AVX instructions. (Does Cinebench R23/2024 crash as well?)
      3) It could be a particular P-core that's not cooperating well. To try that, you can go back to the configuration from OCS#5 but go into the BIOS and set the Per Core Ratio Limit to, let's say, 57X or 58X. Try the stress test and if it passes increase the Per Core Ratio Limit by one.

      There's only a benefit in specific applications, unfortunately. At stock the ring speed (which also controls the L3 speed) is already fast enough to provide data to the cores and other parts of the CPU. In extreme overclocking scenarios, where the cores are clocked very high, there's a small benefit. Also, if you're trying to squeeze the last 0.1% of performance sometimes there might be.

I especially enjoyed the explanations on the new technologies that the LGA 1700 socket comes with, since I’m coming from LGA 1151. I plan on going from an i7-9700k to an i5-14600k, and I wanted to know if you have a video or blog post, anything really, that gives an explanation on the settings you use on all of your benchmarks and the duration of time you run the benchmarks as I want to try your method of ensuring stability. Out of all the benchmarks that you use in your suite, I am only acquainted with OCCT, so it would be great if you had some sort of information on what settings you used, the duration of time you spend on each corresponding benchmarks, and if any benchmark programs require any special setup besides unzipping, or running an .exe. Once again, thank you for all of your hard work, research, and testing you put into all of your videos! I also have a couple of other questions, but I fell this question is a good starting question.

    What about for the 14600K when putting up those v/f curves values in 9,10,11 is this the same? As the 14600k got only 9 voltage frequency curves or just put the values what you've shown here but it's on V/F 7,8,9? and those milli volt values of .015, .015 .035 are those the same values with 14600k too?

    I’m furious that in order to fix the best part about going with Intel rn, the fact that they’re unlocked 🔓 vercloxk machines; is kneecapped by the microcode badaid is such bullshit. They 500+ $ CPUs. Mine is BRAND NEW. Why can’t it run anything at all? I swear if my settings in bios aren’t FLAWLESS (there’s no rhyme or reason to what I have to disable/enable bc he doesn’t clarify which kinda of overclock settings to turn on and off for each setting) so basically I am either scorching my brand new clue trying to make overclock on the new code or just never gonna play my games bc I’m trying to attain impossible to achieve speeds with the voltage limits.
    It was bad enough before not being able to undervolt and set a negative curve below factory settings in “unlocked CPUs “ but now they might as well be rebranded 14700s

      My 13700K can do 30000 CB23 points with just 160w use. Fixed 5000mhz (P), 4000mhz (E), and 1.175v (Vcore).
      But who cares about power in the top range, you want speed, and there the 13900K and 14900K beat the 7950X hands down.:D

    my 12700k just died, ill ask to get the refund and go 14700k. i must have had a bad chip from the start the memory controller sucked, and the chip degraded heavily towards the end i had to disable turbo , disable hyperthreading, disable ecores. and it would run sortof stable but when playing valorant today i had a hard freeze, no bluescreen just game not moving. rebooted and wouldnt post. then mobo show cpu led.

      My 13900ks have also degraded alot.
      Was able to run pcore 5.8ghz, 4.6ghz ecore and 52 cache at 1.365v
      Now im only able to run p-core 5.8ghz, 4.5ghz e-core and 50 cache at 1.385v and I also need tvb with an offset of -1 at 67c to get it stable. Above 67c its no longer stable unless i upp voltage to 1.43v...
      My cpu is not even running hot, but still degraded at an insane level.

      @@FordSierraISyepp, i noticed i needed to bump up SA voltage alot to get 4100mhz cl15 gear 1.
      I need 1.375v SA, and before i needed 1.32v sa.
      The main stability issue i have is the l3 cache, i can run cinebench or prime95 at low voltage for 5.8ghz but as soon as i stresstest cache it needs above 1.35v even at cpu stock settings to get stable. And the cpu is specified to be using 1.262v at stock, but thats not possible anymore.
