Luckily it's just a FAN FICTION trailer, it would be pretty bold of Kunos to use x4fab's CSP to advertise the feature in Assetto Corsa 2, which already exists in Assetto because the modding community has put in years of work, as Kunos claims their engine couldn't have such features.
I wonder if they'll keep the same engine or go UE like in ACC which I hope is not the case

From a management perspective, it would be absolutely unwise to get used to a new engine again for the next development. and honestly, if Assetto 2 has exactly the same modding potential as Assetto, i.e. Python and Lua support and full car and track modding support, it would be absolutely great to be able to take advantage of the Unreal engine.
@@fahrdynamikjk I certainly hope not or if they do use UE I hope the VR quality is better by then. I play all racing games in VR and ACC is by far the worst implementation of VR of any game out there. AC is good and AMS2 is by far the best.

@@fahrdynamikjk "from a management perspective..." lol how many multi-team development companies have you managed exactly? XD Kunos has already publicly stated (almost 2 years ago now) that AC2 will NOT be on UE. They will be redeveloping and expanding upon the first engine.

you can't use them together but with some ppfilters you can get better results with SOL or with PURE, so it's interesting to have both installed @@IlForcone

I hope AC2 will be the first game to have realistic racing in wet weather (less grip on the ideal dry weather racing line, more grip on the outside of the corners, etc ). Because nowadays developers that have wet weather racing in their games seem to think that the ideal dry weather racing line is the fastest line in wet weather while this is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. Irl in wet weather racing the ideal dry weather racing line has the most rubber from the cars taking those lines, and when rain is added to that, that particular line is the SLOWEST and MOST SLIPPERY. Hopefully this game will make it as realistic as possible because i haven't come across any sim that does this accurately and realistically, not even ACC or iRacing.

I prefer it to be more like ACC, detailed racing and multiclasses racing, I want them to keep their racing simulation identity not a car tuning games that kinda thing
I would guess Kunos know that modding has to be possible otherwise people will stick with AC. I would expect some way to port from AC1 mods to AC2 as a starting point.

The only things I see in that trailer that might persuade me to buy is the adaptive machine learning AI and improved tyre and handling model . We already have the rest with CSP and Pure. Plus we have brilliant VR capable of producing 90fps with good graphics, even on my old i7 8700, RTX2070S PC, thanks to CSP's brilliant MODE TWEAKS:VR etc. Assetto Corsa 2 will have a difficult task ahead of it especially as it may be a 2025 release if they have any more delays. Then again, maybe the PC side of the market is not what they are pursuing with their GT7 looking graphics marketing.
AC's graphics are what I see needs an update. Sound and game design too. Despite CSP, Pure etc. the lightning is flat and sounds are robotic and when you play a game like GT7 back to back, it looks so janky and dated. Doesn't matter if you have a 4090. I think the game's visual appeal gets blown wildly out of proportion with cinematic RUclips videos on a small screen. I fired up AC yesterday for a quick LFM Hockenheim race and it looks awful.
I've modded AC up to being close to perfect in its visuals, but there is a lot to be said for an "out of the box" solution to draw in new players. I hope the online experience is a focus and I really hope there is a good career mode

My hopes are that the new engine will take advantage of new CPU hardware, multiple cores and threads to boost performance, especially in VR. I use a Ryzen 5900x (12 cores, 24 threads) with a 4090 using a Reverb G2V2 and it's always one thread of one core that gets hammered with AC, this is probably due to AC being a DX9 title.
It would be nice to be able to use these modern CPUs to their full potential.
If they add nascar, indycar, livery editor, and some tracks like le mans. I'll consider buying

Assetto 2 needs to have:
Mod support (Less known/your local tracks, cars with angle kits, etc. Many people use Assetto as a drifting sim.)
Physics: Camber change based on arc of both* suspension arms in the very common ShortLongArm suspension system. Adjustable damper setting for slow to fast transition point as you can technically swap out shocks, same thing for not linear springs, and very importantly an adjustable Ackerman angle.

Graphics look insane
Some system requirements are small for such a 4k game. And what are the real requirements for a minimum of 60 fps and above?

AC2 officially wouldn't even come close to the amount of work and detail and QoL that the community has done especially with Content manager/csp/sol/mods. Im not saying AC2 wouldnt be amazing but it would take a while for it to be on AC CM's level.
Actually i prefer ac2 to keep their racing simulation identity just like Assetto Corsa Competizione . Where multiclasses can happen, improved car physic, and detailed racing. Assetto Corsa Competizione graphics is also amazing I hope they learned from ACC

AC 1 isn’t bad with a controller tbh, it’s really really really tricky to get the hand of it at the start, especially when coming from forza, regardless of using controller.
And yes, AC2 will come to Xbox (series X/S only)

Hot take.... I want AC2 to be a street car game like Test Drive Unlimited, but super realistic. No circuits. Just open roads with traffic that follows real traffic laws. Real or fantasy roads.
Otherwise it's nothing new, just another Spa-Silverstone-Monza game. ACC has still legs as a serious racing sim, why make a competitor for that. Better to make something different than other sims, there's so many similar circuit sims already but none like this. Imagine street racing in realistic roads in TDU style. Realistic police chases (minus shooting you) and damage. Include some circuits as DLC but make road racing the center piece, and single player around that in TDU style. Acquire cars, by winning money from street races. (With no stupid arrow signs telling where to turn)
Open roads and traddic mods are already popular in AC1 with CSP. Street cars were the strong point of AC1, we don't need another game with incomplete racing classes, or 1-2 cars per class again... rather have everything be street cars, and own it. Do something different for once, in the forever-stagnant sim racing world.
People need to be more open minded.. lots of sim racers liked TDU2. But it has never been done with proper physics. Never. Now could be the time. Why do you people want another dry circuit racer, with the same circuits over and over again... I need a change of pace. I would love Forza Horizon too, if it wasn't designed for kids, and the handling was better.
And hire Ilja and the CSP people... yes they hacked the AC code, but still, they did it for the better of community and better of AC. They have skill that needs to be hired.
Atp it’s just forza…it would be better if it had racetracks and a fictional map from each area. Like a map of the town of Monza, the city of Silverstone, a map of Bathurst where you can drive around, the whole city of Suzuka. If that makes sense. That would be so much cooler. Maybe even more cooler if they then integrated all these mini maps into one huge map

AC1, AC2, ACC are all made to be played with a wheel. If you don’t have a wheel then tbh the games aren’t for you. It’s because the physics are as accurate as a real car, so controller would ofc be unplayable.

I still hope for a better adaptation because for example Project Cars 2 which had quite advanced physics (okay not so realistic as AC) but could be very fun on the pad with strange settings 😆 but which made the control precise and allowed some great victories in multiplayer )
Yeah, but tbh you can’t get any better controller optimisation out of a game designed for wheels. It’s just not really possible.
Idk what you all are about. I play these games with Controller and have no issues besides some consistency discrepancy between my sessions but other than that it runs great and plays great. I just sense a skill issue from OP .@@CinematicCurry

Haha no this is an old trailer made for what we thought would one day be the "Assetto Corsa 2" We where all super hyped about this game and personally, I doubted that we would get a new game, feels great that we actually got one.

Nothing comes close to AC.
Women and men, I really loooove AC, its content manager and its ecosystem of mods and apps. I don't know if I want to make a change to AC2 until it were mature and full of independent content as AC. I don't have any doubt about Kunos Simulazioni's capacity to bring a great platform out again. But It wil be take a while to get used to it. Honestly, the important parts for me are: Better AI rivals and a better online racing platform.

@@CinematicCurry Sorry, can´t believe what you say, because ACC for example has a worse VR-Performance even if I drive a 4090 and a 13900k. AMS 2 does it really good. So there can be differences. But we should hope they will do it fine. Let´s keep our fingers crossed...

ACC is GT3 and GT4 only…has rain, nights, better physics and graphics than AC
But AC has really good mod support and lots of great mods

"updated rain physics", so they are admiting building around CSP/PURE? assetto never had rain in first place, and competizione is not the same deal, one more thing; i really wish they are not planing on surrender to unreal engine, this would bound the project to never surpass the first installment.
all that aside i do intend to keep up to assetto no matter what, i only prefer it a magnificent one and not to sunk down like Rfactor 2 did.
