Those were bad ass cars back in the day.
Yeah I think it's awesome!
THAT IS ONEVERY GOOD LOOKING AUTOMOBILE
Nice car!!!!! The Quattro version is what got me hooked on Audis.
I got one of the 1987.5 (half-year) coupe gt special builds sitting in my garage right now, these are definitely very cool cars I'm glad to see some appreciation for this dope ass piece of Automotive History
Years ago, I had an '82 5 speed. Fifth gear was around .50 to 1. Fantastic mileage, but even at highway speeds, you couldn't pass without shifting down. I think that was 2 years only, '82-'83.
Wow, This car is a treasure. You’re so lucky to have found one in such great condition.
Wow1 Excellent condition. I had an 86.5 Coupe GT that was almost exactly the same. Mine was RED with a black, unpainted spoiler and 5 speed manual. It could squeek the tires from 1st to 2nd. The 5 cylinder had nice power and torque. It would cruise at 80-100 mph and you didn't know it. The digital dash is very very rare. That was told to me by the service dept at an Audi dealer. A few other items for those looking at a GT - be careful about the exhaust replacement. Unknowing shops sometimes put on an exhaust meant for a 4000 since the GT used a 4000 platform but 4000s had a 4 cylinder engine. If they get it wrong the engine won't breath correctly, will build up back pressure and can cause leaks at the exhaust manifold, which is not a fun repair. Power antenna are finnicky. I had one in the 86 and when I tried to order a replacement mast and unit the dealer told me it did not go on an 86. It must have been a mid year upgrade. Check for power locks. There is no button, just push down the knob and the other door locked. It was an excellent car. Unique. Fun to drive. I put over 100K miles on it after buying it used. It helped to have a good shop that specialized in European cars and knew what they were doing. There are times I miss it and want to look for another.
I love my 86' Coupe Gt. Wish that I had enough to buy yours. The mileage is rediculus.
Yeah they’re super cool cars! I was stunned to find it with the mileage it has
Great car. I had two back in the eighties in the UK. My father had one too, his was an early one with twin headlights, his business later had the Audi Avant. We also had a Audi 100 gl5e.
I am so jealous right now... Those are ultra sweet cars..
Had the 2.3 new in 87. Leather, 5 speed, white wheels. Brilliant car. Have you figured out how to open the trunk. That is always fun to ask someone to try and figure out. It was pretty quick for its day. Put 220k miles on it and sold it to someone who wanted to race it in SCCA. The sound the in-line 5 makes at redline is fantastic and unique.
Luckily the previous owner showed me how to open the trunk! Haha. Definitely a fun car, so unexpectedly lightweight
nice coupe, i have a b2 coupe quattro here in nz. been with me for 12 years, has nearly 400,000km on it, all original engine, strong car
for what she is
That’s awesome! Very cool cars
Hey that’s my brother!
wicked cluster! I have a quattro coupe with analogue gauges. But yeah, RAD is the word :D
Totally RAD
If im not misstaking, they use mineral hydraulic fluid in the power streering
I understand you can use synthetics now.
Awesome car, but the automatic tranny ruins it! In the '90s, I had an '84 and an '86 , both manual. BTW, the center console is the best place for the window switches!
Pretty sure that you bought the exact car I was looking at purchasing myself. Looks like a great steal. Jealous, but enjoy it while you can. Not sure if this is exactly the one, but it is very close. Cheers!
Nice, are you in the western NY area?
I guess im asking randomly but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account??
I was stupid forgot the account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Cruz Payton instablaster ;)
@Nathaniel Bode Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Nathaniel Bode it worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you really help me out !
It’s the cis fuel injection system
Nice coupe GT!! I just bought one that needs some work. Really nice to drive :) I wonder how that automatic gearbox drives.
It actually drives really nicely. Makes the car feel a bit slower I’m sure but it’s very smooth and actually quick to shift. Only 3 gears to go through so I’m sure that helps 😂
@@VSPEEDGarage :) haha thanks for your answer. I subbed so keep uploading!
@@dutchcculture thanks very much! Should be making a few videos over the next few weeks.
Pretty much guaranteed to lose reverse before 100K. Same box as VW.
Yes the cis is different
How much did you buy it ?
A bit with numbers. coupe fwd all versions 1980-1987 170.000+ cars, coupe quattro 84-87 just only 7000+ and audi quattro urquattro 80-91 11000+.
Thanks for this. I was referencing just US numbers but cool to see the worldwide numbers too!
coopay! people coopay! coop is for chickens. anyways great steal. and a lovely car. the Ur is a dream car but GT is the affordable Urr 🙂
I believe it’s pronounced differently here in the US, we understand your frustration tho haha
Yes you can replace the speakers
Thanks actually my next thing to do. I've started removing the rear speakers and will be tackling this all hopefully this weekend!
There are 4 of these at a salvage yard in Minnesota...I've been working on getting one.
May I ask how you got yours...where did you find it ?
I found it on Facebook marketplace locally
@@VSPEEDGarage I was lucky enough to find one near me. It had been sitting for 7 years under a pine tree at an auto repair shop
@@motoflyte Very cool!
Fuel sending unit would probably be ur gauge issue
Definitely going to try and clean it up and remove all the corrosion since I can't find any aftermarket.
i have the same car butt its the quattro version👍
very nice!
Great condition! How much do you want for this car?!
Still trying to figure that out but it’s valued between $7-8k with its mileage.
@@VSPEEDGarage Looking for a long time for it...
@@VSPEEDGarage it can be in a very good hands of real fan...
i wanna buy it
haha how much you wanna pay?
@@VSPEEDGarage I’m not gonna lie i don’t really know the price on it I own a 2015 audi a3 convertible 2.0t and i absolutely love audis to death. If you just throw a price out there I can lyk if i want it for sure.
@@anthonyscalera2718 Looking for at around $8500. A comparable 1986 with nearly double the miles, more cosmetic imperfections, and digital dash just sold a couple months ago for over $7300, and another 1986 just sold a week ago for over $10k.
@@VSPEEDGarage Ah ok i have like 5,000 at the moment for a car but if you still have it when i got 8,500 i’ll definitely be interested
Are these really rare ??
Anyhow, I think it would look much cleaner without the tint, and some 15/16s with a lip, alike Azev etc.
Pretty rare in the USA. Definitely agree on the wheels. Was thinking sparco terra’s possibly
@@VSPEEDGarage ah I see.
Not saying they're highly common over here either...
I don't recall what is available in the 4x108, but Ronal R8s or the B3 Speedlines wouldnt be wrong. If sourcing some non-OE, I'd focus on a 5 spokes design due the "small" wheel sizes doesn't do multi spokes justice. So the Recaros would end up with too massive centers. Google should anyhow provide a lot of good examples.
PS! A camshaft would help on the 10V drive ability too. ;)
germancarsforsaleblog.com/1986-audi-coupe-gt-20v/
they are even kinda rare in germany. the quattro version is even rarer then the ur-quattro, because audi only built around 5-6000 and most of them were slaughtered to built sportquattro replicas.
before 8 years i bought this car for 450eur now they costs about 7 k.......
Definitely going up in value 👍
Stupid music, but good car. I will allow it!
Royalty free lol
@@VSPEEDGarage Why not no music at all?
@@apathynoir I mean, there's like 30 seconds of music total 😂
