Oh dear, on one hand it’s outstanding. On the other scary as F. Just did an retro r n b sax solo 70’s vibe - typed in 100% my own lyrics.. to see how it handled it , n it generated something that would have taken me hours in 2 min. From a learning and ideas perspective and as a tool throwing it into synth v etc. all very cool. From a holy crap. Song writing / arrangement perspective - ai the fact that ai can prob write a better or as good a song as a human , in 1 min vs than hours of talent injected work. Depressing? Not sure how to feel about it. It is remarkable though. .. if not a scary prelude.

    My AI workflow:
1 - Make the lyrics in Google Gemini.
2 - Get chords from either Scaler 2 or Captain Chords
2 - Using Hookpad, enter the chords and melody using the lyrics. Export both midis.
3 - Import the chord midi & melody midi into Band in a Box, and generate an instrumental using a style.
4 - Export the wav song into Synth V, along with the melody midi.
5 - Using Synth V, generate the singing voice using the melody midi from Hookpad.
6 - In Studio One, import instrumental STEMS from Band in a Box and vocal wavs from Synth V

Hi Mark, Excellent video again! Great timing too. 👍😊
I am one or two steps ahead of you... I think. I assume you're going to be bringing it all into Cubase and re-do parts? My song is a little more complicated, my fault should have started with something simpler...😊 But I'm using it as a learning experience. You got me into Synth V (thank you) and I found out about Suno from somewhere else can't remember. 🤷‍♀These two together are going to be awesome. You also had better ideas of joining the songs parts here. My attempts are a little hap hazard but its a learning experience.
    Looking forward to Part 2
    Cheers Mark 👍

Love how you're showing the whole journey of the song using different tools. Just checking out Scaler 2 myself.

“Interesting topic - as a composer, I have tried Suno and was surprised by the sheer speed and initially the quality. However, I then realized I had no excitement or drive to use the songs. I believe at the moment, you own the songs generated using Suno, as long as you’re paying for its Pro or Premier plans. If you’re a free user, Suno claims it retains ownership of the songs you generate. So, what happens if you cancel your subscription? Do all rights revert back to Suno? This is a tricky area in copyright law for AI-generated music at the moment. Many people are using other software like Band-in-a-Box to recreate Suno tracks with better instruments, which is probably similar to what you plan to do in Cubase. (I might try this in the future myself.) Looking forward to part 2 - thanks for posting. P.S. One thing is for sure: Suno is currently not providing quality mastered tracks. (yet) 💭”

I was concerned about the copyright aspects but my takeaway is that if you created a song whilst a paid subscriber it belongs to you - even after leaving the service. I joked about this a while ago whereby we would no longer have "composers" but "music prompters"... not so funny now that it's a reality! Suno's avoided the biggest copyright problem by not letting you add "in the style of The Beatles" etc., and assuming that every unique prompt generates a unique song - especially if you've added your own lyrics, they would have a difficult time enforcing a copyright against you when in reality the "unique" song would not have materialized without your "unique" input. In fact, you are not even legally required to credit Suno as a co-writer so... we shall see!

@@mixphantom0101 Yes interesting times a head for AI music - ps I read - 'You obviously can't monetize the results unless you're on one of the paid plans and you need to attribute the song to Suno as well. Of course, this opens up a bigger discussion about copyright and ownership...'

Ok here’s wats kinda impressive. So On one of my songs I made on suno . I had sax solo n horns. The quality of the sax is like wow, next level. So here’s the question . Is ai .. utilizing its own vst sampled sax? If so which one? .. or is it creating its own vst sim sax. ? Ie making its own sound.. that sounds like sax .. , if so.. the implications for vst instraments alone is .. like .. wooah! .. I mean even if it was cutting and pasting sax from another song in the ai atmosphere. The cut n paste was too perfect for the song. So .. how is it doing this? .. the brain boggles.

I'd love to know too... if it's anything like the image generation, then it starts with noise and reduces it to reveal the image! Think of sand on a beach and the wind blowing it away to reveal a shiny rock ;-)

By the way, I also noticed the near obsession of Suno with “neon” 😁

How would you split the vocal tracks later on?

I've got 4 or 5 songs on my channel that I created using lyrics with Suno in all different genres. I find it does country and female vocals the best. Suno is great for brainstorming with lyrics and song ideas in semi finished form before you spend all the time recording instruments and making it an actual song. It's going to get abused no doubt but it's a great brainstorming tool. The biggest thing for me it's lacking is the vocal translation it still sounds robotic. Every once in awhile it does get it right. The song Reflections and Rising Son on my channel the vocals sound insanely good for suno ai.

Considering the leap this AI has taken it won't be long until everything will be CD quality (if you pay!)

@@mixphantom0101 Yep, the instrumentals that suno produces are really close already. It still takes 10-15 tries to get something commercially useable. The crazy thing is this just the first wave of ai. This time next year will be crazy or even 6 months from now!

Exactly and boring. It all misses the point of expressing what is really in your heart and all this sounds empty. Musical K-mart

    • @mixphantom0101
      @mixphantom0101  5 месяцев назад +2

Absolutely! That was sort of the point of the experiment. I wanted to see first hand how much of a 'real' threat all of this was... let's not forget that AI can only imitate based on what it's learned - and since the predominant "pop" music of the past century is the largest data set it will have the most influence. By definition, the creations will be pleasant, forgettable and disposable! 😎

@@mixphantom0101Well you could have left it at the original generation. It was beautiful and emotional and it would have only taken a minute or a few minutes more if you wanted to add bridge and out to etc. V synth is great but can't match Suno for great singing.

Hey, I'm on Synth V Studio Pro 1.10.1. Is a non-beta version out now with the audio-to-midi feature? TBH, it's very unclear to me if I can upgrade for free, or how to do so. Thx!

The hype will certainly die down but, for good or bad, AI is here to stay. What we don't want is for AI to "seem" to disappear... that's when it becomes really dangerous.
