Very disappointing that the Morrison omnibus doesn’t have the 1998 JLA logo as the issues had.
A Mark Waid JLA Omnibus would have made more sense, but bad calls by DC seem to be par for the course these days.
I'm getting this alongside the Grant Morrison Omnibus. I would love if they at least keep releasing Deluxe Editions of the rest of this run
The DC collected editions department strike again with a lack of common sense. An omni would have made much more sense. It’s like they don’t think ahead and just throw things together in the hopes we just accept it. Marvel seems to know exactly what we want. Great overview 👌🔥
It’s not necessarily that DC doesn’t know. It’s that they don’t care. They figure they’ll take a bet on people buying the deluxe hardcover and if that sells well, they’ll release an Omni at a later date. They’re very scared to roll out the Omni first but also, they know people will buy both if they roll out the Omni later. And honestly, I’d lay this on Warner, rather than DC, because they do this with other media too.
I have the other Morrison and Waid JLA OHCs so I'm actually pretty excited for this one but I hope we get his run finished in another OHC and that everyone else gets a Waid omnibus at some point. A Joe Kelly JLA Omni would be great too, his run was solid, including maybe Action 775 and the JL Elite stuff. More hardcovers and omnis! That's always the solution.
Hi Omar, I have the JLA by Morrison, so I had to get this after your other videos. Haven’t read this before, can’t wait. I do own all the DCEU movies too, which I love. so I’ve seen doom. Thanks Omar 😊
Really looking forward to this but I agree they could have made it an omnibus. They even could have made it a Mark Waid JLA Omnibus if they would have included Year One and A Midsummer’s Nightmare. Then the next omni could have included the remaining orphans as it also continued chronologically.
The third omnibus of this series couldve been the Joe Kelly run but i dont have any faith in DC anymore to collect this series properly even though i picked up this hard cover as soon as i could lol

Yeah, I’d love them to do more OHC’s to finish off the Waid stuff with Hitch and the other random stuff that hasn’t been collected and then go right into OHC’s of Kelly’s stuff. His stuff is just under Morrison at the top of my JLA list.

This will be a nice companion to the JLA by Grant Morrison omnibus I recenly bought which will fill in the gaps for the missing issues.
This will go great with my Morrison Deluxe Edition HC’s. I kinda hope they just continue right through JLA with more oversized HC’s. I have a much easier time reading those. JLA 1 Million Omnibus kinda stands out a little large in the middle of that collection, but at least the story is complete that way. REALLY hoping the collect all of Waid’s run and then all of Joe Kelly’s run in these.

Yes sir I'm getting that one for sure. My collection is looking real good now if we can get omnis of those batman legends of the dark knight and a reprint of Death and return of superman with everything in it I think those would be the books of the year to get.
Gonna have to pass on this but I love this story. Really like the Justice League: Doom adaptation as well! Really grateful that you showed this off and the design is so much better than the omni. Thanks as always, Omar! :) Algorithm gang!
I also really like the internal presentation of the covers with the information/number on the following page,. I stopped JLA when Grant Morrison left but am tempted to pick this up.
I'm a fan of #42 so its sad to hear that its been orphaned. Also feels like they should have at least included Divided We Fall (#50-54) since it serves as a follow-up to Tower of Babel.

This around the time period during which i was actively collecting and avidly reading JLA. Maybe one day they'll collect the orphan stories within omnibus format? Own the single issues so on the fence picking up this deluxe hardcover in part because of the orphan issues.

Omar, are you getting Barry Windsor-smith’s Monsters? Cartoonist Kayfabe went over it and it looks awesome. It’s his take on the Hulk that apparently was too risque for even Vertigo to print.

Generally, it would be great fod you to always tell the timeframe when the collected issues came out originally. After several videos, a newbie could then easily follow better and better with each video, to get a general feel for what they want to start collecting.
This is an easy buy for me. Written by the BEST Flash writer pens a fabulous JLA story! And of course Batman won't tell them about his plans. They should've been smart enough to know this! Love how the story ends!
I have the TPBs, but will be picking this up as well because of the oversized format and better paper quality.
I've never read this, but pre-ordered it about a week or so ago. I also have some of the old JLA Morriso Deluxe Hardcovers on the way. I found them for a good deal and greatly prefer their design to that of the omnibus. I'm with you on actually liking Howard Porter's style, as well, Omar!

I might pass this even tho I feel I should definitely get it but my hopes are that DC makes a omnibus collecting everything... I already have Morrison omni and hated that they went that way instead of splitting the whole thing in two volumes.

They could have had real faith and put everything in chronological order and just made a vol 1 and a vol 2.

Just got my omnibus of JLA in around the time this video came out. I saw this book on Amazon today and looked at what was collected. I thought "huh, why would they do that?" Looked at the issues collected.
Me: No...
Looked back at the amazon page
Me: NO!
Pulled up this video confirming the issues were missing and fractured

Ok, now they have to do a Divided we Fall deluxe edition, including: JLA 47 - 60 and the Heven´s Ladder graphic novel. It could have been a nice 75 bucks omni but nope, DC being DC

How is the paper quality on the book? Is it the glossy paper or the matte paper?
Are these glossy pages or that in between that they have been using?
Does it make sense to read this edition without having ever read Morrison's JLA stuff?
Just checked my JLA deluxe hardcovers (1-4) and they're missing the exact same 3 issues. A shame, as 27 and 42 are both really good. Ah well!
Tower of Babel is one of my favorite JLA stories. A nicely produced volume. Quality seems very high. Still not special enough for me to upgrade from my cheap TPB though. Maybe if it was Absolute format, but as is, I’d pass.

Oof, imagine if they printed this entire JLA run as beautiful high-quality omnis. Each with less than 1,200 pages. With every issue included. The same goes for Green Arrow by Mike Grell, Starman by James Robinson and others.

There is a Grell GA omni (Longbow Hunters Omnibus). Vol 2 releases later this year. Should cover everything. Also I believe that a Starman compendium (phonebook style) has be solicited. Or did you mean specifically being not over 1200 pages?
@@dgstone18 Exactly what you typed last. I'm not a fan of omnis that are too bulky and need to be handled extra carefully to avoid damaging their spine. Plus gutter loss is far more common.
